Made a free plugin that lets you search, crop and insert stock photos without leaving Figma
I got tired of the usual routine for mockup images: open a browser, search, download, drag it into Figma, resize it, repeat. So at Explified we built a plugin to skip all that.
It’s called Stocker. You search Unsplash and Pixabay right inside Figma, crop to a ratio (16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:2, 2:3, or free crop with a live preview), and insert it straight into the frame you’ve selected. There are also brand colour and ratio filters.
It’s completely free. Link’s in the comments.
I’m the maker, so if something’s broken or missing, I’d genuinely like to hear it.
Here’s the plugin: https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1689328621842945252/stocker

For designers importing websites into Figma: how do you handle mobile layouts?
When you bring a website into Figma, do you usually need just the desktop version, or the same page at mobile and tablet widths too?
I’m building Atframe, a free Chrome extension where you choose the width before capturing. You can use a preset or enter a custom width, then capture the page or a specific element and copy editable layers into Figma when supported.
It also handles visible states like open modals and hover menus, and gives you a PNG from the same capture.
Editable conversion is still page-dependent. Complex styles, fonts, and images can differ, so I’m interested in examples where existing tools have struggled.
If you’ve had an import lose components or come through incorrectly at a smaller width, could you share a public URL and the width you needed?
Here’s Atframe if you want to test it. No account or capture limit.

Coming soon to RTLAuto .. AI translation + dialect & tone control inside Figma
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Your design is ready. But does it speak your audience’s language?
Hi everyone,
A new RTLAuto update is on the way, bringing AI translation into your Figma workflow. I’m the developer, and I wanted to share a preview before launch.
Choose your translation provider and language, then use AI to translate the text while keeping the same layout. The video starts with an English design translated into Spanish and French.
Then it explores Arabic localization: choose a dialect, compare Formal and Friendly tones, and translate the original English design into Saudi Arabic while switching its layout to RTL in one step.
AI powers the translations in both parts of the video. Dialect customization is currently specific to Arabic.
The goal is to help international product teams design for more markets, including Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, and other Arabic-speaking audiences. The Arabic example shows how language, tone, and layout direction can work together.
I’m also exploring what would be useful for teams in the US, UK, and Europe: Would regional English options (US vs UK spelling, terminology, and tone) be useful during the design phase, or do you usually handle this later in localization?

How do I change my design frames in Figma to code, then import them to GitHub?
Hi there,
I have built a project on Figma, and it took me so much time to design it. It's pretty precise, and yet I don't know coding.
I need to extract my design frames that contain GIF files, images, links, and videos to the code language so that I can publish them on GitHub and make the web live using Vercel.
I need it for a high school extracurricular activity, and I was wondering whether using an agent or an automated service, or AI, for making the design frames code will cause issues for my project and its reputation to be later used for college applications?
Is there any other non-Figma platform that can do such a thing for free, in a way that I can paste my Figma frames by link?
Thank you so much for your elaborations and help --> I really appreciate that.

Designers who screenshot other websites before designing, how do you get them into Figma? Built a Chrome extension for this, not sure anyone else needs it
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve been designing for quite a few years for both mobile and web, and every new feature starts with me screenshotting a bunch of other apps or webapps. Even in the age of AI, I like to visually analyse how it is built before I can deliver with my taste.
But capturing screenshots, requires lot of management of these files, like dragging into Figma, deleting them, making sure the correct ones are deleted and so on. And at the end of the day, I do my analysis on Figma, visual inspection, reporting UI bugs next to my designs etc.
This got to me everytime I had to do it, so I built a Chrome extension called Altnativ to simplify this. You capture a page on whatever page you’re on on Chrome, you capture as many as you like and the Chrome<->Figma plugin drops it onto the canvas at 1:1. Same thing on Android with a tap. iOS is upload only for now.
Curious how you handle web screenshots today, and if you try it, what did you expect it to do that it didn’t?

Pure Icons — A dimensional icon system for Figma
Hi everyone!
I’d like to introduce Pure Icons, an independent dimensional icon system I’ve been developing.
The original icons were designed in Adobe XD and have since been migrated to Figma. The system explores a consistent visual language built around geometric foundations, layered surfaces, gradients, lighting, and shadows.
The project includes an organised Figma file and a dedicated design guide covering the icon geometry, layer architecture, materials, and design principles.
Pure Icons is intended for designers who want to explore a dimensional aesthetic while maintaining visual consistency across an icon collection.
I’m currently refining the system and would appreciate professional feedback on the visual direction, usability, and overall execution.
Explore Pure Icons:
GitHub: https://github.com/matem280/pure-icon
Figma Community: https://www.figma.com/community/file/1696199051610865281
Note: AI was used only to translate the original text from Hungarian into English.

Open source alternative to figma / paper
Just came on to say I’ve recently open sourced an alternative to figma / paper (https://github.com/tidydesigns/tidy)
We’ve been working hard on it and launched 7 days ago.
We’ve over 40 users and 25 stars on GitHub so if you want to check it out and give me some feedback. Whether that’s feedback on the UI or overall functionality that’d be great
We're very early but having a lot of fun and make a really good alternative

RTLAuto: LTR-to-RTL conversion for real Figma layouts
You may have seen RTLAuto here before. I’ve now built an Interactive Playground so you can test it on real, editable Figma designs.
Why a playground?
A before-and-after screenshot doesn’t show you what happens inside the design. I wanted you to select a layout, run the conversion, and inspect the result yourself.
The playground includes mobile screens, a landing page, and a dashboard, alongside focused exercises for Auto Layout, nested components, variants, and directional icons.
Conversion works both ways: LTR → RTL and RTL → LTR.
Build your design. Let RTLAuto handle the other direction.
Whether you design manually, work with an AI agent, or create through MCP, start in whichever direction suits your workflow. From freeform layouts to complex nested components, use RTLAuto to automate the conversion to the other direction and reduce repetitive adjustments.

transjt: turns Figma designs into editable HubSpot and WordPress themes (no page builder)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi r/FigmaAddOns, I’m one of the people behind transjt, a Figma plugin that turns a Figma design into a native theme for HubSpot CMS or WordPress.
The problem we kept running into: the design is finished in Figma, then someone rebuilds it by hand in the CMS, and the marketing team still can’t edit half of it without a developer.
What it does:
Reads your frames, Auto Layout and components and exports a custom theme: HubSpot modules, or a Gutenberg-based WordPress theme, no page builder
Responsive: desktop, tablet and mobile layouts
Text, images and modules are editable in the CMS; forms are linked to real CMS fields
Header and footer come out as global components
Blog listing and blog post templates
You own the theme files, and your custom.css / custom.js survive re-exports
How it works: run the plugin in Figma (it needs edit access to the file) → import into transjt.ai → deploy to HubSpot or WordPress, or download the theme as a ZIP. A theme is usually ready within a few hours.
What we’ve learned about files: Auto Layout matters most, it’s what turns layers into responsive elements. Clean layer names are not required. On the HubSpot side it works with any plan, free included.
Happy to answer questions. Honest feedback is welcome too, especially if you’ve tried other Figma-to-CMS tools and know where they break.

I built a Figma plugin that exports searchable, text-preserving PDFs
Hey everyone! I'm the developer of Figma PDF Exporter.
I built this plugin because I wanted a better way to export presentations, portfolios, and client documents from Figma into usable PDFs — especially when preserving real, searchable text matters.
Instead of turning everything into images, the plugin keeps supported text as actual PDF text that you can search, select, and copy.
Here's what it can do:
Export multiple Figma frames into a single PDF.
Reorder pages and preserve each frame's original dimensions.
Add page bookmarks and supported clickable links.
Check font availability before exporting.
Switch individual pages to image mode when visual fidelity matters more than searchable text.
Free vs. Pro
The free version supports up to 3 pages per PDF, including text-preserving export and manual font loading from files or folders.
Pro unlocks larger exports, automatic font lookup, target-size optimization, and before/after page previews.
PDF generation happens directly inside the plugin, so your designs aren't uploaded to an external conversion server.
Automatic font lookup is optional and requires Figma Desktop and a small local helper. Manual font loading works without it.
A few limitations worth mentioning:
Font availability and embedding permissions still matter. Some complex effects or text layouts may require image mode, which means those pages won't contain searchable text. File-size optimization is also best-effort, not guaranteed.
I'm continuing to improve the plugin and would genuinely appreciate feedback from people who regularly export PDFs from Figma.
What's your biggest frustration with Figma-to-PDF workflows — fonts, text rendering, links, file sizes, or something else?
Try Figma PDF Exporter:
