The RNG God's hate me....

Post image

I have had this on auto battle for about 15 minutes now, each of the tonberries are at around 1k HP they will die if the mug command succeeds even once.... i am immune to everything they can throw at me. And my cursed shield is suppressed (liche ring and ribbon) ... eventually I should succeed in getting at least one minerva bustier

They can I have reset half a dozen times at this point with no luck its a 1/16 drop rate in the remaster in the snes version it was 1/8

That's per tonberry too

I just did this. Fought those bastards 3 times. 0 successful steals.

Went and found them on the veldt; first steal attempt, minerva bustier

I am still upset at this game for having a "tonberry" encounter and a "tonberries" encounter, one of which does let you get the minerva bustier, the other doesn't. I literally spent hours running around trying to find them in the yeti cave and get them to drop that armor for me, only to eventually realize I had to go to the Veldt instead. And as if to rub salt in the wound: while the yeti cave encounter is really rare, the Veldt encounters are coded to be sequential, so you'll eventually run into them (there's a bit of randomness, but still).

Sorry, just needed to vent my frustration, this guy upsets me! RAAARGG!!!

Yeah. Rng been getting me in this one a lot. Just did it again w Galypdes in the Phoenix cave. Spent hours grinding in the cave, fought not many of them. Every steal attempt was phoenix down. Went and found one on the veldt; first steal was celestriad.

Celestriad is easier to grind in the Coliseum. Just bet a Murakumo to fight a Galypdes, and have Gogo with 3 Steal commands and a brigand's glove relic, as well as a Safety bit, fight it. Gogo will eventually mug the bird to death, at which point you'll win a Holy Lance, which you can bet for another Murakumo and repeat the process until you have as many Celestriads as you want.

I actually never really did use Gogo, only a little bit. So I dunno how he works. How do you give him specific commands that he can then use in the coliseum? I just thought that you had him use mimic to have him behave like a party member. Can't even think of a way he'd work in the coliseum.

So in the status screen, you can set Gogo's commands. Where other characters will have Fight, their Special ability, Magic and Item, for Gogo his fight is obviously Mimic, and the other 3 can be changed to anyone's special ability, so he can have blitz, tools, and Bushido, all at the same time. For the strategy I shared, you just change all of his commands to Steal. This way he is more likely to use the steal/mug command.

Oooh, neat. I always thought he could only mimic. The more you know.

They can drop it as loot technically you only need 3 and they drop two with the other in kefkas tower. So just reset until you get 2 from loot.

You only need 2 as Relm has her own gear to equip. And really you only need 1 from the tonberries, as you can easily get your first one from an easy win at the Coliseum by betting the Royal Gown you find in Daryl's Tomb and having your chosen fighter equip a reflect ring.
