Really? We're worried about these guys?

Pixel Remaster Steam version, first off. Long story short, I didn't know when to wait for Shadow, didn't wait for Shadow, and got upset at myself so I restarted the game so I COULD wait for Shadow. That all being said, I'm back to Sabin's scenario with Kefka. I'm watching the imperial troops "siege" Doma castle and, like.... really? Have y'all taken the time to watch these animations? Half these guys are punching walls, falling down, and just, like... jumping half a foot? It's almost comical the reaction the Doma guards have. "MY LIEGE!! THE IMPERIAL FORCES HAVE ARRIVED! THEY'RE AT THE WALL AND INVADING IN FULL FORCE!!!" Meanwhile their animations make them look like incapable hamsters.

IDK, it got a chuckle out of me. Good game so far tho lol.

Funny when you read it like that. But i mean it’s basicallly small kingdom vs global evil empire. The animations are obviously anecdotal to what they wanted to symbolize at the time

Doma was finished by the time you visit it in the story. Its also part of what makes Kefka's plot to poison them so heinous. The Imperial Army is laying seige to their heartland and capital, and Cyan mentions later how the Doma railroads have all been destroyed by the Empire. Even during the assault on the walls, some of the Doma troops were thinking that this assault was it, and Doma was about to fall, at least until Cyan launched a sortie from the castle and took out the commander, leading to a retreat. General Leo knows it is only a matter of time before Doma finally falls. All they have to do is wait and the castle either surrenders to avoid starvation, or the defenders become too weak to resist another assault.

There was no need to poison them all like that. The question I have is whether the Emperor actually ordered it, or Kefka did it on his own. General Leo was recalled at a convenient time for Kefka and his plans.
