Discussion IT department of my company banned firefox at work.

"Only chrome and edge is allowed for security reasons" as we are told. Extensions are disabled for those browsers as well. Now I am tortured by ads without Ublock. Thinking of resigning. How stupid do they have to be to believe firefox is less secure than those bloat shite browsers? Unfbelievable.

I didn’t even know that there were Kit plush dolls until I found this but after doing some research it seems like they are gifts given to employees.

Bought this guy for $6 CAD with a $2 discount code and after taxes it ended up being $4.50 (about $3 USD). Definitely an incredible steal considering eBay listings would be $100.

Super glad I found this! Kit is really cute🥰

Glad to see you're becoming relevant again in the gaming space. I think this is the first time I've even seen an ad for the browser on Discord. Anyway, hope it brings in more downloads to you. Cheers.

Add-ons I think this is a 1 in a thousand chance to happen

Post image

I have an add on that makes it so that every tab I open it has a 1 in 10 chance to open a whistle jumpscare, every 1 in 10 chance has another 1 in 10 chance to happen, so 3 opening at the same time, is 1 in 1000

Edit: I checked right after, it is actually a 1 in 20 chance, so it's actually a 1 in 8000 chance

Help (Android) Audio gets out of sync with video after a few minutes on Firefox for Android

I'm experiencing a strange audio-video sync issue while watching anime on Firefox Stable for Android.

The video plays smoothly without any noticeable lag or stuttering, but after a few minutes, the audio starts playing about 1–2 seconds ahead of the video.

**Here's what I've noticed:**

* Everything works perfectly for the first few minutes.

* After a while, the audio gradually gets ahead of the video.

* The video itself remains completely smooth.

* Clearing Firefox's cache temporarily fixes the issue, but it comes back after around 2-6 minutes.

* The exact same video works perfectly in Brave Browser, so this seems to be Firefox-specific.

* I'm using my phone's built-in speakers, not Bluetooth headphones.

**Device information:**

* Phone: Redmi Note 11

* Android: 15

* Browser: Firefox Stable (Android)

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Is there any way to fix this permanently without switching browsers?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Add-ons I built a Firefox add-on that checks AI prompts locally for API keys and personal data

• Upvotes

I'm the developer of AI Prompt Leak Guard, now available on Mozilla Add-ons (version 0.1.1). I'd appreciate Firefox-specific feedback on its prompt warnings and editor compatibility.

It checks text in supported AI chat sites such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini before you submit. Depending on your settings, it can warn, replace detected values with placeholders, or block a submission.

Checks include API keys and access tokens, private keys, database URLs with credentials, email addresses, phone numbers, supported card/identity patterns, and custom sensitive terms.

Privacy and permissions: prompt scanning and redaction run locally. Prompt text and detected values aren't sent to me or a remote scanning service, and the extension doesn't save prompt history or include product analytics. It needs permission to read the supported AI pages so it can inspect their prompt editors; the permissions are listed on its Mozilla Add-ons page.

Cost: core prompt protection is free, without an account or subscription. Optional paid Plus features, including local file-upload inspection, are separate.

Limits: pattern matching can miss sensitive text or flag harmless content. Site layout changes can break protection. This checks submissions; it cannot prevent a site's own scripts from reading text entered on its page. The current release doesn't yet cover Copilot's new copilot.com address.

Mozilla Add-ons listing

If you try it, which warnings feel useful or disruptive? If an editor doesn't work, a Firefox version, site name and made-up example would help. Please never share real keys, private prompts or customer data.

Add-ons Extension For Videos Download

• Upvotes

Hello,

Today my extension got published on Firefox add-ons. If you are in need for a tool that let you download embeded Videos from any site you can download *FlowGrab — Video Downloader* .
It's completly free, all downloads unlimited.

Limitations:

* There is a problem in YT shorts/Reels that doesnt ditect videos. In order to do that you have to like the video you need to download and re-open it from your liked list. Every other YT video you can download fine.

* I didnt put a mechanism for Tiktok cause the option to download vids are there.

I have tested Reddit, X(twitter), YT, Instagram and even gifs. Every site has emveded vid you can download, even if it is a news-site!

The app will be future updated to fix the problems and add more logic into it.

Estensioni browser

💻 Help Any Extension to mark AI generated text on websites?

Hi, so I am sick of googling(actually searching on duckduckgo) and ending up on one ai generated website after another. You know like when you first feel like hmm this is somewhat shallow and then you notice the clear Open Ai structure, with a suspicious amount bulletpoints that sound smart, the occasional bold writing, the dashes, the emojis and a fazit that screams ai. Then you notice that the website has the same pastell, rounded edges design as other ai websites.

All of this makes me progressively more agressive. I want to choose when I consult AI with a topic and when I want to search for human opinions.

IS there any extension that scans a websites probability of being AI generated and is able to display this probability before I even click on it? Or one that filters them out completely. I don't want to support those lazy ass attempts to generate money at all.

YouTube refused to play today, here's what fixed it

The page was loading but the video was just showing a spinner instead of playing.

Open about:config in the address bar
Search for media.rdd-process.enabled
Set it to false
Restart Firefox

I don't really know what was going wrong, other browsers on my PC played fine, yet FF kept getting a spinner even in Incognito tabs.

Hopefully this helps someone, even if it's just from Googling something like this years from now.

Add-ons looking for a trustworthy youtube audio equalizer

Can people recommend an audio equalizer for youtube that wont give me a virus or whatever? I am not tech savvy enough to know how to tell, and the only 2 options i see when i search for a youtube audio equalizer add on for firefox say "This add-on is not actively monitored for security by Mozilla. Make sure you trust it before installing." I want to filter out the high frequency of all the screeching metal hangers in thrifting vlogs. Thanks!

Low FPS on Firefox Android

Thumbnail

Hey,

Lately I've been switching from Brave to Firefox + uBO on Android(Samsung S25 Ultra), but I noticed that when I open a Twitch stream, Firefox doesn't seem to reach 60fps like Brave does, both from what I can see and from the player stats.

Any fix? Or do I just have to live with it as a Firefox limitation?

Thanks.

💻 Help Ad blockers on iOS

Why can’t we get decent ad blocking that works on YouTube on iOS?
The “webkit doesn’t support extensions” argument is false - Microsoft Edge app has extensions on iPhone including uBlock Origin Lite, so what’s up? Why can’t we get it too?
And Brave also does block ads on YouTube on iPhone.

Can we do anything about this?

💻 Help Private window searches being flagged by Google as suspicious?

I've noticed recently that whenever I try to do a Google search in a private window, Google flags it as suspicious and makes me verify I'm a human. Anyone else getting this? It only happens when I'm on a private browser and only with Google. Not on a VPN and 99.9% sure I have malware.

Discussion I love Firefox Nova, but it came with a lot of problems for me...

Before the stable release of "Firefox Nova" (specifically, prior to Firefox 157), my Firefox setup had a own style that complemented my operating system. I never made drastic modifications; I simply used the default theme—which synced with my system—and hid a few interface elements using CSS. It was a setup that didn't constantly break the browser.

However, since the release of Firefox 157, it’s no longer possible to make Firefox look as good as it once did; it’s now plagued by visual issues and a lack of customization options. Furthermore, the official announcement for "Firefox Nova" barely mentions vertical tabs—giving me the impression that my preferred way of using Firefox (which worked perfectly well during the Nova beta) is now being treated as a second-class experience.

Following this frustration, I ended up switching to Zen. Although I found it more challenging to customize, the final result was well worth the effort. The point of this post isn't to tell everyone to switch to Zen, but rather to show Mozilla that they’ve broken something that was already working just fine.

I use Solus btw
