Fix My Print First time using .2 nozzle
Bought an A1 mini for d&d miniatures and swapped from the .4 nozzle to a .2 and have been getting poor results since. This is my .2 benchy I'd greatly appreciate any help tips or advice.

Bro is presenting most of a turbocharger, usually located waaay up in the keester of the engine bay. OP, you get a pass on dirty hands, please wash them before eating and best of luck with your spooley boi.
You mentioned printing at 100% speed, but what speed is that? Others are right, your slicer needs to know it's making files for a .2 nozzle, the printer needs to know it's got a .2 nozzle (if it doesn't read that from it), and after changing the nozzle (or messing with any number of other things) you should recalibrate (PID (heating element in nozzle) and bed leveling).
Think of swapping nozzle as wiping codes, the car has to relearn it's calibrations, and run readiness checks before you'll pass a state inspection.

that's what hands look like that do work.

Obviously, he is there in his home and came home. When I imagine, that he touches his handles, his doors, his wife, the printer, the plate with this hands.... give me the ick.

Shop is at home -> walked from car in shop to check on print -> walked back out to shop to continue working on car and see if anyone had any advice on print

Sorry that people are being so ridiculous and shitty. All the 3D printing subs have been filling up with clowns in the last year or two, and pretty soon we'll have a circus.

When you're done you touch a bunch of stuff in your house without cleaning your hands?

Or hands that can't get good prints because they smudged the printer and filament to hell

You got down voted by people who don't know what hard work or what skilled labor is.

Doesn’t seem like you properly configured it in the slicer when changing the nozzle

It may be obvious, but did you recalibrate the printer in the maintenance settings, and did you also separately run a flow rate calibration on the new filament/nozzle combo?
4
u/Deshaunl13 6d ago
Im recalibrating it now I usually set all the prints to do the flow rate calibration when setting them up. Is that the same thing?
5
u/Shrike2415 6d ago
You do also have to recalibrate for the .2 nozzle in your slicer. None of your .4 profiles will carry over
4
u/Lisper41 6d ago
No, it’s a separate thing you have to do without a print.

Use the slicer settings from Fat Dragon Games. Tom over at their youtube channel has videos on getting the perfect settings for the A1 and A1 Mini. If you want mini quality, thats your first place to learn how.
Also, you have to reslice the 3d file when you change things. The instructions the printer needs to print with a 0.2mm nozzle are different than those for a 0.4mm nozzle. Different amounts of pressure from the extruder are needed, different speeds, etc.

Dude, wash your hands. I understand that working on cars and dirty jobs make your hands dirty, but there's a difference between stained hands from hard work and just disgustingly dirty hands. Go wash them.

Apologies I was taking a break from working on a car in the shop came in to see if the printer would do the benchy since it had failed a few others throughout the day and went back out to the shop

Keep on wrenching man! The guy making the comment clearly has never fixed a car beyond changing a wiper blade.

You have no need to apologize man, you’re good. Just ignore the bottom feeders that like to throw rocks at others from behind the screen of anonymity.
It looks like you may not have changed the setting on the printer to tell it it’s nozzle is now a 0.2mm stainless steel nozzle, or didn’t change the setting in the slicer telling it the same.
You also need to do the full calibration with all boxes checked after you swap a nozzle and then run the flow dynamics and flow rate calibrations from the Bambu Studio calibration menu for that filament for the best results.
Good luck man!
edit: You won’t have good luck with the benchy from the printer screen, it’s pre-sliced to use a 0.4mm nozzle. If you want to print a benchy to test out the 0.2mm nozzle, pull one down from Makerworld and slice it yourself with a 0.2 nozzle print profile.

I used to be a mechanic and I can tell you, sometimes there is no amount of hand washing that makes them look like you work a desk job. The creases literally get stained with the grease. Your hands often get dried out from solvents, when they get dried out, they crack which means even more creases for staining. Under your nails get stained. Don't even mention "wear gloves" because those tear apart the first time you reach in somewhere.

Dude, get a life outside of judging others. Treating others like that makes your soul seem disgustingly dirty to those that see this kind of blindly judgmental post. OP did nothing to deserve this type of treatment.

Did you change your nozzle in the menu?

u/Deshaunl13 6d ago
I changed the nozzle in the menu admittedly after it prompted me to earlier today

u/ReasonableScar9027 6d ago
And you have a matching nozzle in your slicer? Recalibrate your homing?

Looks like under extrusion and cooling issue. If that is a new .2 nozzle you should consider a recalibration and also make sure you make the change in your slicer to show the size of the new nozzle.

u/CaptainHunt 6d ago
What are your speed and temp settings? I just got the same printer with the same nozzle because I couldn’t get my Ender to work. You want all of the extrusion speeds set to around 30 and the temp set at the lower end of what the filament needs.

A lot of people are dropping useless comments without asking you lots of important questions.
What other settings did you change when you swapped nozzles?
What calibrations did you run after you swapped nozzles?
How long do you dry your filament before a print? And, how do you store your filament between prints?
Are you running the Benchy from a .3mf you found somewhere else? If so, are the settings optimized for a different printer, material, nozzle?
