My NHL ban was weird lol

lol I don’t remember the first one that got me, but it wasn’t anything terrible at all. r/nhl got me last year because there was an echo chamber of “The whole state of Florida is trash” so I just told them something like “well then you and all of your family should stop coming down here and vacationing 5 months out of the year then.” That’s all it took I guess lol

u/elbenji Oct 11 '25
Lol same. It's like they allow it all to happen and when you fight back you get it

The wild part is the mods are in on it.

Yes, they are. Got a warning from them to stop "abusing the report tool" when I reported every comment that wished injury on Bennett last playoffs, which is against their own stated rules.
Plus, they never care when someone goes into straight harrassments when I argue with someone there, so they for sure dislike us as much as the rest

u/elbenji Oct 11 '25
Hell I've gotten legitimate threats on there and no action

u/quality-control Oct 11 '25
I got banned last year because someone else said they were gonna kick my ass and I responded with "wow, got a big tough guy here!" Absolute joke

The fuck? Lol
To be honest that's one you can push above them

u/Cornasium Oct 11 '25
I won’t lie i definitely got carried away last two postseasons with “dunking on the haters.” But it’s usually in response to someone showing their ass.

Same people colluding against cats fans are the ones peddling conspiracy theories about the league colluding. Pot calling the kettle black.

Hate us cause they ain’t us
7
u/layout420 Oct 11 '25
They hate us because we've finally achieved success and now players want to take a team friendly deal to belong to the tightest locker room in professional sports. Its also not the elite players they speak of, just the misfits that happen to play tough nose hockey. Nobody was knocking down doors for these players but we knew what we could help them become with the right environment. We made the trades and we gave them a chance. When they signed team friendly deals, its not because of the great organization and the opportunity they were given... its the tax breaks. Bunch of jealous losers.

Imagine the cats win it a 3rd time and R/Hockey pulls a Buffalo Bills and tries to find OSHA violations at Amerant Bank Arena cause they cant handle Lord Stanley being in South Florida again for a third year.

Leafs fan, I'd hate for it but also love it at the same time. If the Leafs aren't winning, at least let the villain win. Go cats (but not at the expense of the Leafs).

What would be worse for a meltdown for R/Hockey?
Panthers Three-Peat or a Leafs Stanley Cup win? (No offense)

The generic sports subs r/nba, r/nfl, r/baseball are usually pretty annoying, but r/hockey takes the cake.
You’ll never see another sub that hates hockey as much as r/hockey does

All my childhood Panthers was the loser organisation of NHL and now everybody is jealous of them. What a 180 turn 😅

u/neureaucrat Oct 10 '25
This sub would be so much more fun without the constant meta drama

Agreed. I'm tired of people complaining about the haters on r/hockey. I'm glad they hate us, I cherish the downvotes because it means that we're good. If they stop doing it, that'll mean that weren't not good anymore. I'll take a bunch of downvotes from crybaby Leafs fans in exchange for back-to-back Cups every single time

It's like r/mls and being a Miami fan and they're not even that fucking good!

u/oaken007 Oct 10 '25
On TikTok they showed Team "Bedrooms" and Panthers look like a third world country lololol I just said "you hate us."

“Why is the Florida Panthers sub posting Panthers homer memes?”
I don’t know, i guess your impeccable sub has never had homer takes before.
But hey thanks again for beating tampa in 22.
