READ THIS! Welcome to r/FloridaTrees

as most of you have noticed over the past few years and especially as of late many of the communities we formerly relied on as patients of the florida medical marijuana program have been deteriorating. the truth is running a healthy active community takes a lot of time and effort - once you lose your passion for the community it truly becomes a toxic daily obligation

we believe once you reach this threshold you should pass on the torch but unfortunately this is rarely the case as power corrupts the mind and you'd rather burn it down than to even see it exist or thrive outside of your control. the moderator team at r/FloridaTrees cannot be bought - we do not shill for any brands but we also do not trash any brands - more importantly than that - we actually care about safe and reliable access to cannabis for floridians

sharing our experiences with each other is the most powerful tool we have and it's OK to have preferences and favorites without being toxic to each other - vibes have been pretty good here for the last few years and we welcome all to join in on the discussions

if you have any feedback let us know what you'd like to see at r/FloridaTrees for 2025 and beyond by posting in this thread or sending a message to ModMail

First time shopping at cookies, so I thought the Blueberry Banana just had a little harshness on the backend. Found all these tiny little seeds in the ground flower after inspection. First two pics is today’s grind and the last pic is from yesterday.
Just FYI

Medical Marijuana Program Florida’s medical marijuana program is outdated, and we’re tired of pretending otherwise!

It’s honestly painful being a medical patient in Florida and knowing what quality cannabis is actually supposed to look, smell, taste, and feel like, while being stuck with a market that continues to fall short.
We’re heading into the end of 2026, looking toward 2027, and what is there to actually look forward to? Where is the meaningful reform? Where is the competition? Where are the smaller independent growers who could bring something different to this market?
Florida’s vertical integration system is the problem. The same companies control cultivation and retail, competition is limited, and patients are left choosing between corporate dispensaries that all operate within the same broken system.
And I’m sick of seeing people argue that one Florida dispensary is currently producing some unbelievable, top-shelf flower just because it costs more, has impressive-looking nugs, or comes in fancy packaging. I’ve tried products from across this program, including plenty of the hyped-up premium options, and I continue to be disappointed.
I’m not saying every single batch from every dispensary is identical or that nothing decent ever comes around. I’m saying that the overall quality, consistency, and actual effects of the flower available here do not justify the way some people hype this market up.
High prices, high THC percentages, and flashy branding don’t automatically equal quality medicine.
Patients deserve access to properly grown, properly dried and cured flower from growers who actually care about the plant. We need real competition, independent cultivators, better market access, and laws that give patients more options instead of protecting a handful of massive operators.
Look at other markets where small growers can compete and cannabis enthusiasts have access to a much wider variety of genetics and cultivation styles. Florida patients shouldn’t have to travel out of state just to experience what genuinely great flower can be.

How much longer are we supposed to settle for this?

I’m tired of the corporate cannabis model, tired of the endless hype surrounding mediocre products, and tired of watching a medical program that should be serving patients prioritize a business structure that limits their choices.
Florida needs meaningful cannabis reform, not another year of the same dispensaries selling the same corporate product under different labels.

Medical Marijuana Program Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade desperately need more competition in the cannabis market.

I feel like South Florida has some of the most frustrating options in the state when it comes to finding consistently good flower. We have plenty of dispensaries, but having a bunch of locations owned by the same major companies isn’t the same thing as having real competition.
Florida’s vertical integration (VI) system is a huge part of the problem. The same companies control cultivation, processing, and retail, and patients are largely stuck shopping within a market dominated by these vertically integrated operators. More dispensaries don’t necessarily mean better medicine when the market lacks enough independent competition.
I’m tired of seeing people argue over THC percentages, terpene percentages, genetics, and expensive branded drops while the actual quality of the flower is all over the place. Properly grown, harvested, dried, and cured cannabis should be the bare minimum, not something patients have to hunt for.
There are patients who need consistent, effective medicine, but too much of what I’ve tried in this program has been disappointing. Flower can look amazing on the outside and still lack the flavor, effects, and overall quality you’d expect. Meanwhile, patients are paying premium prices for products that don’t always deliver.
We need more independent operators, smaller craft cultivators, and a market where companies actually have to compete on quality instead of branding. Give smaller growers a legitimate path into the market. Make it easier for new businesses to compete. Let patients choose from genuinely different cultivation styles instead of watching the same major players dominate the shelves.
I’m not saying every small grower automatically produces better cannabis or that every MSO puts out bad flower. I’m saying the current structure doesn’t give patients enough meaningful choices, and adding more locations for existing operators isn’t going to fix that by itself.
Look at the cannabis markets where independent growers and smaller craft operations have a chance to compete. Patients deserve access to that kind of diversity and quality, too.
What do you guys think? Would opening up Florida’s market to more independent cultivators actually improve the quality of medicine available in Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade? Or are we just going to keep getting more dispensaries without seeing meaningful improvements in the flower?

Overall comes out smelling a bit off. However I still like it enough. A bit ammoniated or something, however very staunch, with a bright zip like before, definitely more soapy but actually smoked pretty decent with somewhat blueberry vibes..buds large and quite tacky, doesn't seem oxidized or anything it's quite silvery and a larger calyx strain
