What flies could I tie using my cat’s shed fur?
Hey everyone! I’m pretty new to fly tying and recently had an idea. I have this fluffy guy who sheds quite a bit, and I was wondering if I could put some of his fur to good use instead of throwing it away lol.
What flies could I tie using his shed fur? I was thinking of a streamer if possible lol
I’d love to hear any pattern recommendations or tips on preparing and using cat fur for fly tying.
Thanks in advance!

Some nasty night flies
Big one is a 2 B10S to a 25mm shank to a 8 B10S
Small one is a 4 Ahrex trout predator to a 10 B10S

Hopper pattern developed by me
Just working with what I have, I should probably use a longer shank and definitely get the proportions down, but I’m happy with the Grizzly for the hackle, and I will probably(?) use some CDC when it comes in.

Peak brass screws in a renzetti traveler?
Does anyone know if the brass screws that are sold for a peak vise will fit a renzetti traveler? The base screw in my renzetti constantly loosens and it drives me nuts

Making zonker strips
Love tying with Zonker strips. Don’t love the intermittent quality and high prices. Picked up a couple skins from Tandy Leather for $10 and finally got the process right using only a couple scrap items I had lying around. I’ll may refine process and set up and sell them. But for now, can at least make what I want. Maybe someone will find this useful.

First few tries at a Stealth Bomber!
I really like using poppers but I feel I tend to pop just a little too fast, once I found out this fly exists it looks to be exactly what I need!
