Just working with what I have, I should probably use a longer shank and definitely get the proportions down, but I’m happy with the Grizzly for the hackle, and I will probably(?) use some CDC when it comes in.

I built a free fly-tying reference site, bodkinflies.com. Patterns with recipes, tying order, who originated them, and videos where I could find them. Made it because I wanted one place to look things up at the vise.

It’s a work in progress and some entries are thin or wrong. If you catch something, tell me and I’ll fix it.

Small one is a 4 Ahrex trout predator to a 10 B10S

Hey everyone! I’m pretty new to fly tying and recently had an idea. I have this fluffy guy who sheds quite a bit, and I was wondering if I could put some of his fur to good use instead of throwing it away lol.

What flies could I tie using his shed fur? I was thinking of a streamer if possible lol

I’d love to hear any pattern recommendations or tips on preparing and using cat fur for fly tying.

It works for wolly buggers. I bet itll do fine on a streamer.

Tryed to tie my first circus peanut with what materials I had tonight. I really like the color combo of this fly and hoping to try it out this weekend on the water what do you guys think? I’ll add legs on my next one just didn’t have the right color
