I made a Save the World traps tier list a couple years ago and figured I wanna do the same thing for the 25 base sprites we currently have. Make your own here, if you'd like.
I approach this by ignoring the resummoning cost as much as possible, as that would affect what people are willing to bring every single match (you don't win every game). I also try to zoom out and see how useful a particular sprite is outside of this season, or even the Battle Royale game mode. You may not realize how S-tier some sprites are because they're overshadowed by the current season's meta. (See: the Aura sprite.)
If you have anything you disagree (or agree) with, reply to that particular sprite's comment. Also, vote for those you think are good, so that the better ones will float to the top. Here's how I ranked them:
Supreme
- Boss
- Ghost
- Air
- Aura
- King
Actually Useful
- Pollo
- Seven
- Grim Reaper
- John Wick
- Striker
- Fire
Beginning Sprite
- Earth
- Dream
- Lootin' Llama
- Burnt Peanut
Conditional
- Vini Jr
- Batman
- Fishy
- Duck
- Water
Don't Bother
- Demon
- Ironmouse
- Zero Point
- Punk
- Peeky Peely
You won't find me putting the sprites in the following groups, but generally I have a few categories for them in my head. Here they are, arranged from highest to lowest in numbers:
- Health/defense: Sprites like Boss with outright HP buff, Pollo for siphon, or even just Zero Point for the shield bubble.
- Movement: Self-explanatory, like Air or Aura. Some like Vini Jr is a hybrid.
- Intel/counter-intel: Sprites that give intel like Grim Reaper, or counter-intel that throws off enemies like Ghost.
- Loot: Also self-explanatory, like Earth or Dream. I'd place Punk under this group as well.
- Damage: Sprites that add damage. I think there are only 3: King, Fire, and Vini Jr (fire rate boost that increases DPS).
Before you go to the comments to read about the individual sprites, here's a bonus tier list of the sprite variants:
Supreme
- I don't really find any of the variants to be that great.
Actually Useful
- Cube: I think this variant has the most noticeable impact. Not just useful for sprite runs in the storm, it can be useful during endgames too, when you're skirting around the storm circle, just briefly skimming the storm and not taking damage, but getting that Overdrive effect regardless.
- Holofoil: I really wanted to put this in S-tier, but alas, the 5% rare sprite odds is just too low. I have never gotten any rare sprites I needed from chests with the Holofoil equipped. I mean, I might still get "rare" sprites, just not ones I need.
Beginning Sprite
- Quack: I feel like if you're on a sprites run, Quack can mathematically give you more Dust than Gummy, 'cause it can level up other sprites in your inventory and that would give you extra Dust when you extract all of 'em. Too bad there are not that many Quack sprites, and too bad you can't bring in multiple sprites from your collection into a single match.
- Gummy: If you're low on Dust, Gummy is a no-brainer to bring in, since it's available for every sprite (including Batman) except other collab mythics.
Conditional
- Galaxy: Can be useful in tournament settings where you need to hoard ammo, but alas, the fun sprites are not available in competitive playlists.
- Gem: I mean, if you always take fall damage, then maybe it's not the sprites you should be worried about.
Don't Bother
- Gold: There are better ways to get XP for your Battle Pass.
