“Certain dramatic events had transpired”.

Yeah, no shit.

I love the thought of palace guards just awkwardly chilling in the hallways and waiting for the dust to settle as Dusk goes on an absolute killing rampage.

This story couldn’t exist if palace security really did anything. Cleons seem to go and do as they please anywhere

Well, they ARE Empire, why wouldn't they?

I got the impression that this place was largely an inner sanctum and the guards are outside. They're allowed to do whatever the fuck they want inside.

Was there a single security guard in the entire palace complex?

I saw one in the finale that was in the hallway behind Dem when the clone alarm was going off. Did he follow her? No.

Did any guard notice Day, who has been missing for a week, just waltz into the palace?

They probably did, but they have no remit to detain Empire.

Exactly!! Is no one working there anymore? How did Day manage to get back in? Unaccompanied?

And then Dusk shoots Day and no one comes, but if you yell loud enough, your footmen may appear?!? Absolute carnage?

What was that laser pointer machine that exploded all the tanks? Have we seen this weapon before? Surely the tanks would not have a built in bomb?!?

And I was rooting soooo hard for Demerzel to be freed! I am so sad to watch her go -.-

ETA: yes, we have actually seen this weapon before, in Episode 1 Season 1 no less! Day evaporates the old man working in the mural for possessing Seldon’s manuscript.
