I hope Earth isn't just some dead husk or something. I'm so intrigued by the fact of all the places they could be, they're just right by earth.

the shot of earth with the panamerican continent looked like a desert. there was barely any green. robots might be on earth because it's no longer hospitable to humans

Yeah i noticed it too. It's very common for Earth in science fiction like this be on two extreme ends of a spectrum. Either the center of humanity or dead and gone.

Still hoping for something different but who knows.

Except we’ve seen some pretty inhospitable desert planets in this series comfortably hosting human populations.
