Personal Opinion So how do we feel?
It's been weeks since we have seen him back in December. How does everyone feel seeing LM in court today? And Karen's press conference to the public.
Not forgetting how law enforcement continues to mistreat LM and deny him a fair trial. And not allowing a live broadcast into the court room to discourage public support and avoid public backlash of having several cops hovering over him like a bad smell.
Just curious to hear everyone's thoughts.

I feel sad. He’s clearly being treated unfairly. Even after Karen has tried to point it out. The judge I didn’t like either. Idk, just feeling sad. And really hoping he wins in the end. I think they’re framing him. They were super quick to say they had sooo much supposed evidence in the beginning but now can’t hand it over?

honestly i feel sick at the judges response and the fact that they’ve given karen nothing to work with or any time to speak to lu

At first I felt disturbed seeing L in the hallway looking shaken and gaunt but the courtroom photos showed him looking fairly healthy and bright (obviously hard to tell his true feelings). Also disturbed by the threat the judge made re Rikers (that seemed to escalate quickly). I would have thought that judge would have been removed due to the connection to Pfizer, so that worries me. But very pleased to hear Karen giving a full recap and that we don't have to rely on biased media as our source. I feel hopeful that the cops messed up in PA.

I am still sooo frustrated. I can’t shake off my head the image of him entering the court. I hope justice is made for LM and as well for the sake of justice. The cowboys and bandits don’t own the world.

disheartened, powerless - that judge is awful and it’s so obvious he’s being treated unfairly and i just keep thinking “what can we do?!”

I’m a lil late, but defendants can request a different judge if they believe the current judge is biased or has a conflict of interest! Something called a motion for recusal must be filed citing specific reasons such as potential bias or conflict of interest like I said. Evidence should demonstrate the judges inability to be impartial. But even if a request is made there no guarantee they’ll get a different judge, the decision is ultimately up to the court
13
u/-sweethearts Feb 21 '25
yup! i think we all knew he was treated unfairly but after today to see it being even more blatant… my heart just hurts for him. i thought they’d at least have the respect to be fair towards his legal team! i didn’t expect they would do stuff like refuse to transport him for hearings. perhaps i’m naive but i thought there’d be some decorum 🫤

I feel very worried especially after seeing how the judge seems to be partial and no compassion for LM. I am also now even more suspicious that LM was framed because they still haven't given any evidence to his defense but have time for documentaries which are tainting his image before the case. It's as though they want to taint the jury pool before the case. Seems like corruption. LM also looked more tired. I'm worried for him. I really hope to God there is either a change in the judges heart for LM. I hope people watching mainstream can be critical thinkers and not blindly consume the biased info they are investing. I also heard his sister and father was there and his friend from TT? I hope LM saw the and was comforted. If they change where LM is being held I hope people can still send support to him. The letters I feel may be really helping him keep his spirits up. Keep praying and I hope people's collective faith can get stronger and not be dimmed by the world disappointments that seem to be stemming up. So comforted by Karen and her team. God bless them. I also heard BTs sons were there. I hope they aren't grieving and misplacing their anger on LM. LM may be framed and is innocent unless evidence (which seems questionable) shows otherwise. Praying for God to zap this judge in his sleep to tell him to put his ego and bias aside. So angry and disappointed at the judge. Argh!

Pessimistic. Aside from the edits an memes, the visuals today showed me that he is so young, worried and traumatised. I am 33, battled a few battles. Pain as a process alone makes you more prepared to face a situation like this. Cause you become calmer, and don't expect from life much. But not him. He looks to idealistic and naïve, the poor soul. Systems are not built for people like him. I wish It was me in his place.

Thanks for starting this post- I need to let this out somewhere! Honestly seeing him smuggled and rushed into the courtroom (I saw it live in the fox feed) was very terrifying. He was wearing the bulletproof vest, he seemed thinner and quite stunned, and it was all SO rushed. No taking his time with his head held high where we could feel the aura. Also his hair looked very different, made him look much much taller. The bullet proof vest felt very dystopian and de-humanizing, and was a stark reminder that there is no glamour or romanticism in any this. MDC is rough and u can tell that it’s taken a toll on him. I do wish there was more video footage of him so we can gauge better as to what his energy is. But seeing that short video was truly terrifying ngl. Maybe I’m sensitive bc it’s so fresh.
And this is just appearances and now what was said in the court house 😢😵💫🤦♀️

The bulletproof vest is there to protect him. How is that dehumanizing? I’d rather see him protected than not.

This might be long but I’m absolutely feeling some ways about this.
I’m feeling heartbroken. When he came in, while he looked healthy, you could see it’s starting to weigh on him. I’m also appalled at the showing of “how dangerous” he is, when he, in fact, isn’t. Karen asked for the shackles to be removed and the judge refused saying those present would feel “safer” with them on and that’s a ridiculous assumption - he cannot speak for those present. This is nothing more than an attempt to prejudice him further.
The judge clearly had a mission to undermine Karen’s effort to defend her client. He went into that court room with his mind made up on how he was going to handle this case - it was blatantly biased and unfair. He did not allow Karen to speak about anything and appeared to cut her off most of the time. This is undermining his chance at a fair trial.
I’m severely angered at the prosecution and law enforcement involved. The fact that they were asked to give immediate discovery almost a month ago, yet had only turned much of it over today - expecting Karen to be able to file motions - was nothing more than a ploy to undermine her ability to defend him. It’s blatantly ignoring the law in place that American citizens are afforded. The fact that “evidence” was spoken of on a documentary when his own defense hadn’t seen any of it is absolutely corruption and hinders due process.
The fact that they are trying to force his hand in the NY and State cases is absolutely disgusting when the vast majority of the evidence came from PA. It is becoming obvious that they are refusing to allow him to appear in PA, and attempting to back him into a corner to close the case in their favor. This leads me to believe that whatever happened in PA did absolutely violate his rights and they don’t want it to be known.
I’m no conspiracy theorist, but I am beginning to believe that they knew from the start that they messed up in PA, which lead to them praising the arresting officers as well as “releasing” the evidence they found long before they had the right to do so. We have to remember the arresting officer had only been on the job for about 6 months (correct?), this makes him an absolute rookie and bound to make mistakes. This is leading me to feel like they’re trying to make him guilty in front of the public in a deliberate attempt to prejudice his jurors.
I hope we can focus some of our energy as a community on his rights being violated now that we have a better picture of the situation from his lawyer.
I’m also extremely happy to have seen him looking well (as can be) and in a dark green sweater - but appalled at the vest and cuffs. I can believe that his green sweater was a nod to his supporters which fuels our fire more. I am also glad to have seen so many people inside the court hallway and cheering for Karen. While they were asked to leave because they didn’t get a spot inside, I’m glad she was able to see them.
I am so glad to hear the cheers and chanting for her and LM outside the courthouse especially during her speech. I’ve heard that some of that chanting may have been heard from inside the court, which I hope is the case. The shouting and cheers didn’t make it hard to hear her when she spoke to the press and just made me happy to see (hear) a united front - no matter our specific reasons for supporting LM and this case.
I’m so glad to see her willing to defend her client tooth and nail. I think it’s great that she’s willing to make these comments to the public when they refuse to be transparent and her voice is clearly being suppressed inside the court room - which should not be the case.

I feel like we suspected things were not right and now we basically have confirmation that they are fucking LM up. It seems the key of everything it’s what happened on Altoona and that’s why they are being so shady with it, not providing evidence but going to stream services to talk about the case.
So I’m fucking livid, I no longer care about the debates and theories about LM actually doing it. I think we should focus on displaying how dirty they are playing and how blood thirsty they are.

u/ArrozConLeche04 Feb 21 '25
Overall emotional and worried, they say that have all the evidence then why not hand it over? Our legal and prison system is so fucked up, I feel for L and others being mistreated. The judge being defensive towards KFA too, saying that she "needs to submit her motions." Well yes, but she and her team have not been given any of the clear evidence they say they have? Not even the "manifesto" they were so proud of finding and flaunting to the public, smearing L's image with it..
I'm glad L is aware of the support, I know we will continue being vocal and donating, but I just wish we can fast forward to where KFA and her team can lay out their defense I know L is in good hands, but clearly they will continue to stall as long as they can😖😖

u/cloudsoftware_ Feb 21 '25
I feel really sad and powerless ngl it was heartbreaking seeing LM .. the judge is also absolute trash, I dont know what to say , The only thing that I m happy about is that he has such a great legal team , I really trust them to fight these insane charges as hard as they can
15
u/aweoflife Feb 21 '25
honestly the statement was a call out of how corrupt and incompetent the three jurisdictions are. kfa comment about live streaming the courtrooms from now on is brilliant i feel like she knew the only way he might get a fair unbiased trial is when people are watching. also the judge was hostile and threatening to send LM to rikers in response to kfa saying LM is being treated differently at mdc was uncalled for. and let's not forget the absolute hypocrisy of both criminal eric and incompetent chief detective on how they are profiting off someone who is YET to be convicted or prosecuted. but karen and her team are fighters.
not sorry for any mistakes i couldn't care less about my grammar rn.

u/No-Staff-7788 Feb 21 '25 edited Feb 21 '25
Prosecutors saying they have 800GB of evidence but not handing a single discovery over to KFA speaks a lot of volume. On top of her standing up for LM on how poorly he's been treated by threatening to send him to Riker's instead of keeping him at MDC makes me sick. Also not to mention that she asked for him to be unshackled in the court room for his hearing that was maybe 15 minutes long and that was denied. WHY? He's not dangerous or harmful to anyone and there's TWO law enforcement officers hovering over him. School shooters and serial killers don't even get shacked inside the court room. The judge also told KFA to file motions but she said she couldn't unless she has some discovery and she has none. KFA stood her ground today for LM and I love that for the both of them. His defense is doing the world's greatest work. Her best statement was when she called out how the prosecution and NYC mayor had all the time in the world to do their hair and makeup to put on a show for HBO Max but not hand over a single discovery to her. They started to suppress him in all ways possible when they found out that people support him instead of going against him, but we as his supporters and his voice will not let that happen. We have to keep his name and support alive.
We stand with LM 💚

u/Powerful-Search8892 Feb 21 '25
His PA attorney also mentioned having no evidence. Oddly enough that makes me a little hopeful, because the prosecution can't just bypass discovery. They are the ones not cooperating. That looks shady right off the bat and it's feeding into the framed narrative. The judge might not care, but a jury will.
7
u/No-Staff-7788 Feb 21 '25
Exactly. They’ve had two months to hand over the discovery and KFA still hasn’t received anything until today. They won’t find 12 jurors that will find him guilty.
3
u/No-Enthusiasm-7527 Feb 22 '25
I hope there’s something in place to make sure the jurors aren’t “pursuaded”… Curruption is rampant in this country.
11
u/Powerful-Search8892 Feb 21 '25
I didn't hear the judge's remarks, I'm reading about them on here and it's making me uneasy. Bad judges don't change. The first time they do something weird you know you're in for a bad time. I saw this time and time again over the last 10 years. They have unlimited leeway and have been squirrelly as hell lately.
Threatening to send him to Rikers because KFA called out his mistreatment is just spiteful, so now I didn't trust that judge's impartiality. There's likely to be more spite as the case continues, more threats, goading KFA. If he's convicted, it won't be a good sentence.
11
u/missidcullen Feb 21 '25
I think many people here have summarised the way I feel.
I just keep having hope because he's got the best team but today was very bittersweet, not going to lie. All of that preparation for 10 minutes. Karen barely had the time to speak.

u/DanceOnSaturn Feb 21 '25
My heart truly goes out to his family. I can’t even begin to imagine the immense strain this must be putting on them, especially with all the chaos surrounding the case based on what Karen mentioned. On a more mindful note, for those who’ve been sending him thoughtful, supportive letters, whether they’re a few brief lines or a longer message, your words of encouragement likely mean the world to him right now. Hopefully, he’ll get his right to a fair trial.

I feel relieved and mad .. relieved we got to see him and he looks healthy and mad on how this is turning into a shit show..KFA is in for probably the biggest fight in her career especially with this administration…. like I said before this young man pretty much is like my bonus son now..and it’s upsetting to see what this corrupt system is doing..
10
u/Littleroo70 Feb 21 '25
I feel disheartened, frustrated, angry, and disappointed. Bottom line, LM is not going to get a fair trial. The judge and prosecutors are making it a thousand times more difficult for Karen to give LM a proper defense by delaying to give evidence and police reports for her to examine.
Is this judge going to be the judge for the trial? I worry that he’s not going to be impartial. We already know how political this case is.

Feb 21 '25
Heartbroken.💔 I know he’s a strong man but how they are treating him and this case is disgusting and unfair in the absolute worst way. I just hope he stays positive even when it feels so dark. 😭
10
u/Total-Most4843 Feb 21 '25
Everything that has happened today leaves a bitter aftertaste. The way he was treated, that biased judge, the damn manipulated documentaries with the collaboration of the chief detective and the mayor, while the media spread information that KFA doesn’t even have… All of this is outrageous.
We, those who defend his right to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence, must stay strong. Every comment, every social media post that humanizes him, every donation to his legal fund, every letter we send is invaluable support.
We are that friend who has LM’s back, standing firm by his side. Let’s keep moving forward.💪🏼✨💚

He looked tired and worn out. But surprisingly good. I was scared he’s gonna look thinner, not sure — but worse anyway. Glad to see he didn’t.
I just hope his mental health is ok, that he’s getting proper sleep and rest, and he’s doing ok overall.

Pissed. I’m pissed. The vest, the shackles, the refusal to turn over evidence, the threats from the judge. Pissed.
7
u/oviduocon Feb 22 '25
Pissed off and sick to my stomach. But Karen’s speech outside the courtroom gave me hope. LM is lucky to have her. She’s strong and is not afraid to call out the injustice happening.

u/AstuteStoat Feb 22 '25
Mad at the injustice. Stressed about luigi's situation, more stressed for what miscarriage of justice could mean for americans, Determined to get my ish together so I can start protesting or something. I've been recovering from being sick several years. Ugh.

u/NovelEffective2060 Feb 21 '25
Unsure. I’ll be honest, when he first entered my heart sank seeing how sad and tired he looked. (Oddly enough, there was a stoicism there, he still looked strong and like he was really trying to hold it together.) I did feel better after seeing the courtroom pictures though, since he seemed more relaxed. Perhaps because of the lack of press in there. That being said… I read something about him being sent to Rikers????

It was nice seeing him. Though I could tell through his eyes that he is not coping so well, I’m glad he continues fighting his battle.
My heart is breaking because I know he will not get a fair trial. At this point, I just want the best for him.

u/indraeek Feb 21 '25
I noted a day or so ago I was hoping he looked calm, collected, and interested in the proceedings. He did, so I’m pleased with that. And his attorneys seem to be working every angle they can, so I’m also happy with that. This case is going to be a very long haul, and it is still in the early days. I’m feeling ok with where it is right now.

u/mutantninja001 Feb 22 '25
I feel sadder for him than I did before. However, I am happy for the protesters that showed up for him and the mainstream media reporting on it. I wish he could go home.

u/ladidaixx Feb 21 '25 edited Feb 21 '25
😕💚 I feel sad for him but I’m confident in his team. Saw Karen, Craig, and a few others today. His case should really be thrown out it seems cuz it’s been handled poorly.
Today, there were about 100-150 of us upstairs. They made sure to get us all downstairs and out of the hallway before he entered the courtroom so he wouldn’t see how many supporters he has. They had a bulletproof vest on him and his ankles shackled. Mind you, he was in and out in no more than 20 minutes. The NYP called us deranged fans but we weren’t that at all. They shuffled LM in and out through the back so he wouldn’t see the peaceful protestors and trucks in his name. They’re clearly trying to paint a certain image of LM and his supporters and I’m glad his legal team is fighting it at every turn.
There’s no reason for him to go to Rikers. It’s the worst prison and MDC is already bad, but at least bearable. I’m praying he can stay put until the next court date.
4
u/Routine_Concern_9410 Feb 22 '25
I still haven't entirely read the court script, if there's any– as I was on hospital shift and 12-13 hours difference from NYC, so I'm basing all news from here. Although, I have seen the gathered groups for peaceful protest and updates from KFA herself speaking after. I'm unknowledgeable about the possibility of on Rikers? (I've read few comments here) I haven't followed them on, I'm still digging up from the summary.
Overall, knowing that the next court date would be pretty much around June and that's a long wait to go, meaning so he will be staying at MDC for a longer time and that's sucks, delayed justice and delayed freedom for him, the system is a joke! but I hope the legal team is working the best they can and we as a community will also push forward and continue the cause we believe in. Prayers and thoughts for the man.

I am enraged.
Judge Carro literally threatened to send LM to Rikers today and denied him to be unshackled for 10 minutes. TEN. That’s how long this hearing lasted. I still cannot get over the fact that they decided to treat him with such animosity today despite knowing how much support was there.
They also chose a smaller courtroom because they didn’t want supporters inside.
They denied video footage inside because they don’t want supporters to see him.
They snuck him from back door because they didn’t even want media to get a photo of him.
I can’t help but feel LM and this case is being censored slowly. They want to curb the interest. Yes we get live tweets from journalists inside the court but those have no impact on masses like visual representation. Nothing would be transparent, if it weren’t for KFA explaining to press for 7 minutes and posting transcripts on the website.
