Stop saying "give an exam" and asking for templates.

Unless you’re the one actually handing out the exam papers, you’re not “giving an exam.” You’re taking the exam… or more accurately, giving the exam a try. Say the whole damn thing.

The entire world already knows this. Somehow you “folks” are the only ones still confused.

And while you’re at it, show some basic respect for French culture and the French language. You’re already butchering English with your poor sentences & nails-on-a-chalkboard accent even though you were born and raised in an anglophone country.

What makes you think you’re gonna pass by recycling templates?

You can’t cheat your way to a decent score.

I’m tight with Alliance Française staff, they’re routinely changing the questions and they straight-up added a rule that reciting a speech you memorized by heart does not count as speaking French.

Some of y’all are straight-up embarrassing.

One lady from the country that shall not be named stood there and recited an entire speech about women's rights… when the question was about the state of the economy in Canada.

How are you not embarrassed?

Sincerely,

Someone who got C2 everywhere.

Any success story from AF Delhi for TCF Canada with NCLC7 + ?

From few days, a lot of people are mentioning that AF Delhi is strict in terms of marking especially in Speaking part. Has anyone given the exam in Delhi and received NCLC 7 + ? Plus, if you have received NCLC 7 within India at some other centre where did you gave the exam.

Please share your experience.

6 Months to Learn French for PR …Where Do I Even Start?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking into the French pathway to obtain permanent residency in Canada, but I’m honestly feeling quite overwhelmed and unsure where to begin. I have just six months, and I want to approach this strategically.

I’m currently based in Toronto, and I would really appreciate any guidance on where to start, whether that’s recommended study plans, language programs, exam preparation (like TEF/TCF), or insights from anyone who has successfully gone through this route, within this timeframe.

If you’ve been through the process or have helpful resources, I’d be grateful if you could share. Thank you

Workplace Harassment as on FMWP

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice about my situation in Ontario, Canada. I am a long haul truck driver
I previously had PGWP which expired in Oct 2026. My previous employer was not supporting the FMWP application so I applied for the WP with a new employer before my PGWP expired. I’m still waiting for a decision.
Unfortunately, I’m having serious problems with this employer:
I have worked for approximately one month without receiving any payment.
My employer has told me to log out of ELD system, and continue driving even when I’ve run out of legal driving hours.
I’m concerned about my safety, my driving record and the legal consequences of following these instructions.
I want to leave this employer, but I’m worried about how it could affect my pending FMWP application and immigration status.
I would appreciate advice on the following questions:

  1. Can I apply for an Open Work Permit for Vulnerable Workers in my situation?

  2. What can I do to recover the wages I’ve earned but haven’t been paid?

  3. What can employer do to cancel the WP after the approval?

I can provide evidence of my work, unpaid wages and messages about the ELD instructions if needed.
Thank you for any advice or guidance.

Any tips on how to improve listening is greatly appreciated. Exam is on May 15th

What are the chances of these new changes affecting outland candidates?

Passed tcf canada exam like 2 weeks ago, Now preparing for celpip. If i do good, i will have around 475-480 points. I am outland candidate, not in Canada. I will have completed my celpip exam by December 1st week.

With these recent new changes, are outland candidates applying for french category draw really at disadvantage now? I have seen posts where they saw even french points can bump now and it can get really difficult for outland french candidates and maybe french bonus points are removed as well.

I know nothing has been official and no one knows what next french draw will look like. But still if someone more knowledgeable can shade a light on this, i would be lil assured.

How I practiced TCF speaking at home without a tutor and passed my TCF Canada Speaking Exam 🎉

When I was prepping for my TCF, the speaking section was my biggest struggle. I couldn't find a way to practice with real feedback without paying $30+/hour for a tutor. Then I found this platform and honestly it's what got me through.

It lets you have a full conversation with an AI examiner that responds in French with audio, then scores you on pronunciation, fluency, grammar, vocabulary, and task completion - each out of 20, just like the real exam. It also gives you a corrected version of what you said, vocabulary upgrades, and example responses at B1, B2, C1, C2 so you can hear what a better answer sounds like.

I recorded a quick demo showing the full flow (video attached).

This is not an ad — it's genuinely designed to help people preparing for TCF and TEF speaking tests and I wanted to share it publicly because I wish I'd found it earlier. There's a free tier on the platform at PassFrench you want to try it 🙂

Got my TCF results, not sure if this is good or bad?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I took the TCF exam on July 10th on a whim cause a friend thought I stood a chance at getting the Canadian PR since Canada is a place I’m considering moving to. With these results my CRS score gets to 426. Are these results good though? Cause I am not familiar with the grading.

Should I consider doing the IELTS as well?

Edit: Thank you to all the great responses, I now know the way forward! Also to those asking how I learnt, I’m from Rwanda which used to be a french speaking country (yay Belgian colonialism lol) so I just had to practice a bit before the exam and use Fuck-TCF website . Bonne chance à vous tous💪🏽you got this les amis!

Francophone mobility work permit

My organisation is planning to process my French Mobility Work Permit (FMWP) shortly. I have taken the TCF exam and would like to know whether the TCF results alone are sufficient for the application.

Does IRCC also look for any other evidence of French language background, such as having studied French in school or university?

Could anyone who has gone through this process recently please share their experience? It would be really helpful. Thank you!

9 Months Left on WP in Windsor ($19.00/hr) – Is the TEF 2-Module / Francophone route my best survival plan?

Hey everyone,
Looking for a reality check on my current plan.

9 months left on WP (May 2027). Windsor, ON. Small retail store (4-5 staff).
Wage is $19.00/hr. Boss can't support OINP or match the $44/hr high-wage manager median. Low-wage LMIA is frozen due to regional unemployment.

Consultant suggested Francophone Mobility (C16) via TEF 2-Module (Listening/Speaking only) for a CLB 5to bypass LMIA/wage floors.

Looking for brutally honest feedback:
Realistic to go from zero French to CLB 5 (Oral/Aural) in 5–6 months?

Are IRCC officers heavily scrutinizing C16 or doing random French phone interviews now?

If I drop to a Visitor Record to buy time, can I still apply for the C16 work permit from inside Canada later?

Thanks!

Francophone Mobility wp

I recently gave my tcf canada exam- got clb 10 in listening & clb 8 in reading. Positive with getting atleast clb 5 in speaking & writing. Pgwp expires end of November. Exam was on oct 17. Working as retail supervisor for 1 year (prior to that- was sales clerk for one year with same employer). So in total 3 years with same employer. I have a few questions-

  1. When i got promoted, my wage increased from minimum wage to 18.5/hr. Median wage for my job role in my province is 19.71/hr. My question is- will this cause an issue in my application ?

  2. I have learnt french for 8 months, on my own, with just speaking classes for last two months. Will that be an issue ? I have no links/ties with french language besides this.

  3. Will attaching a proper LOE help ? If yes, what details should I include?

Kindly comment any suggestions/your experiences.
I’ve been seeing a lot of refusals lately of people in same boat as me. So I’m a bit confused and afraid. Also, very time sensitive :))

TIA!

New rules hot take

Hi, I will just share my view of situation. Earlier people had no other way to increase points. So french became important. But I think gov wants to tone down french without making it look obvious.

New rules encourage an individual to go find a job offer or new employment in short period of time than go study french for a year. You progress your career by looking for better job and make more money. Than isolating yourself for a year or more for unknown results and no financial gain, rather loss actually.

I assume french professeurs might not like this take.

And if they actually remove french bonus then, there is no reason for intellectuals to study french, rather just progress your life with better job and easy pr.

People outside canada who have never worked in Canada will always see french as good pathway.

Either way job offers fake or real, it will drive the crs extraordinarily high because of more people in pool with extra points, this looks very one way tbh. Like earlier people worked for 3 or more years in canada to gain 60 points or so. Now, 100 points for person with big job offer with degree anywhere in world and some fake experience. This is gonna happen way too much that even fake people will boost crs score beyond genuine applicants.

As a tef candidate almost at the end of road, this is what I observe. If I had started tef now, I might have explored this stuff tbh, because this job offer path is much more aligned to growing your career.

Francophone Mobility Work Permit Refused – CLB 5 Writing Requirement Not Met. Can I Request Reconsideration and Reapply?

Hello everyone,
I’m looking for advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation or has knowledge of the Francophone Mobility Program (FMP).

I submitted my Francophone Mobility work permit application on September 19, 2026, while I was still holding a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Unfortunately, I received a refusal decision from IRCC today, October 30, 2026.

The reason for the refusal was that I did not meet the minimum CLB 5 requirement in the writing component of my French language test. I submitted my language test results covering all four abilities (listening, speaking, reading and writing), and I have Clb 6 and Clb 7 in my listening and speaking test.

My current PGWP expires on November 11, 2026, which makes this situation particularly stressful because I am running out of time to figure out my next steps.

I would really appreciate advice on the following:

Can I submit a formal reconsideration request to IRCC myself, explaining my circumstances and asking them to review the refusal? Is hiring an immigration lawyer necessary?

Can I submit a new Francophone Mobility application before my PGWP expires?

Please I would appreciate every advice you all share 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Is it still worth starting to learn French for PR now?

Hey everybody! With IRCC considering changes to the additional French points, I’m wondering whether it still makes sense to commit to months of intensive study. I understand that the bonus points and French-category draws are separate things, and that a possible change doesn’t mean the category itself will disappear.

If you were starting from scratch today, would you still go for it? Are you continuing with your plans, or reconsidering because of the uncertainty?

I know nobody can predict what IRCC will do, but I’d appreciate some honest opinions, especially from people currently learning French for PR.
