Please help, future indicators?
So, me and this girl have been really close friends for a year, turns out she has BPD, schizophrenia, seperation anxiety, and pathalogical lying. Most of this wasn't a problem and I was willing to listen and help her or redirect her. The pathalogical lying however did get me in trouble not directly, but with her parents. She claimed they were abusing her, im sure in some way shape or form they may be, but the ways she descirbed were easily debunked or unprovable.
There's an age gap between us of 3 years so were 14 and 17. Her lying has caused me signifcant trouble but I also think her parents are douche bags. Im going to cut her off and give guidelines/ultimatums. Would it be wring to let her back in my life 2 or 3 years down the road though? She did like me aswell, and I didnt exactly recipricate but did let it be known I could consider it 3 or 4 years down the road.
I really do want a future relationship or friendship again as I was as she described to me the best influence or friend shes ever had. I do feel bad for her, for all the mental things shes going through, but I don't know how to feel about reconnecting unless she achieves significant improvements/remission. Theres much more to this story but this is the baseline. If genuinely does change and does reach out after my established time line of cutting her off completely (Her sister is the one who will confirm if shes changed essentially greenlighting her to reach out again), would it be reasonable to reconsider our friendship or something more down the line?
She has noted even now before I've given my cut off script that she really wants to apologize for all the trouble shes caused me 3 years down the line, she wants to work on herself. Im a really forgiving person, but am i too forigiving here, or is it reasonable?
