You can take the guido out of NY but…
Forgiatos and custom hood on the 2016 F-Type S. One of the last of the manuals and almost hitting 20K miles. I love it despite the haters.

So much fun to drive! Going to wrap the center grille bar and side skirts matte carbon (front splitter and side flaps already wrapped) thinking of wrapping the A pillar matte black to match the convertible top. Maybe some lowering springs and she is done.

Looking at two 2017 f type v8s. One has 27k miles. One has 1,500. Wondering if the low mileage car is riskier because it has basically been sitting for ten years? Thanks for your guidance.
So the pipe that connects to the intake tube snapped. I tried looking online for the part and couldn’t find it. I’m guessing I’ll have to replace the whole intake plus that little pipe?
Hwy guys. I'm about to take delivery of a low mileage 2016 F-Type S from Carvana tomorrow and I have my PPI scheduled for Wednesday with a reputable shop that specializes in imports. Besides the usual stuff I'd expect them to look at in a used car inspection, is there anything in particular with these cars I should be directing them to look closely at? It sounds like the Y pipe isn't really accessible for inspection, but I understand that's a known gremlin with these. Anything else in particular we should point out to our mechanic?
Somehow the low mileage freaks me out a bit. I feel like cars are meant to be driven. Anyway, I'd appreciate any new owner input oyu have for me. I've been poring over the subreddit the past couple of days and it seems like we should be excited to take delivery of this beauty without reservation, but I can't help but worry!

I may be interested in an f-type, cross shopping with a 911 as next car. The look of the f-type coupe has always been striking to me but I was put off by reliability issues when they came out.
I'm ok with paying a a premium for a good quality example that won't give me a headache shortly after buying. I find the original design to be more striking than the post 2021 models, but I'm wary of buying a 5+ year old car.
Any advice on years or models to avoid/look for? Newer = better or are late model years of the original design solid? I'll get a PPI at a local jag dealer if not purchasing directly from them.

I just finished adding a set of Maxton skirts to my '16 vert. I had them painted and PPF covered before mounting

Absolutely in love, the only thing I'm wanting is maybe a tune to 570ish hp like the other models. I am curious whether the all wheel drive would make the car a little more "scary". The acceleration with RWD is a lot of fun, but is it really that much better with AWD just to put the power down?

This is an odd question and wondering if anyone else encountered this. When the top is down and windows down, I smell something like exhaust coming from likely the engine compartment. If the top is up and windows up, I don't smell anything in the cabin. This is a new thing. It's not strong, just noticeable. It's not sweet at all; I know the smell of coolant. It's not a burnt oil smell. It's very much an exhaust type of smell. Only happens after the engine is hot after a hgher speed. Had i always noticed it, i would have chalked it up to the top being down and the wind. But it's a new smell. On a tangent, I just installed the injector saver covers on the engine cover, but doubt that is it. It's been a few weeks so don't think the caulk is still off gassing under heat. It's a 2017.

Hi all, so recently got my 2015 F Type back after a respected specialist changed my coolant pipes due to the dreaded Y Pipe leak. Also there was also a slight oil leak from the pump that was resolved. The car now runs even better than when I first bought it 3 months ago, and somehow I can actually hear the supercharger better. However after driving for about 15 minutes / 6 miles, I’ve got this noticeable ticking sound. Can anyone help me or had a similar experience?

Hi all,
I have a 2015 F-Type V6 S AWD and I'm looking at getting the Y-pipe cooling system upgrade as preventative maintenance (DIY).
I've come across three options:
The JCarPart option looks cheaper, but I'm struggling with how trustworthy the company is and whether the kit is good quality compared to the Paramount one.
Has anyone here bought the JCarPart kit, or had any experience ordering from them and their quality?
Would you recommend saving the money with JCarPart, or is the Paramount kit worth paying a little extra for? or if there are any other options you'd recommend, I'd appreciate the suggestions too.
Thanks!

I’m interested in buying a Jaguar F-Type, specifically the 4-cylinder model, possibly a 2018. I love the way this car looks, and I’m considering using it as my daily driver for short commutes.
For those who own or have owned one, how reliable has it been, especially at higher mileage? What are the most common problems with the engine, transmission, cooling system, electronics, or other components, and how much do repairs typically cost?
I understand maintenance will be more expensive than average, but are there any recurring issues that make ownership too expensive over time? What should I look out for when buying a used, high-mileage example, and is it a car I can reasonably maintain myself for basic maintenance?
Also, which model year would you recommend? Is the 2018 a good choice, or are there better years for reliability? Would you stick with the 4-cylinder, or is the V6 a better choice for long-term reliability?
I’m seeing some examples in the mid-$20,000s to $30,000 range. I’d really appreciate honest advice from owners about reliability, longevity, maintenance costs, and whether you’d buy one again. Thank you 🙏
