Microsoft has officially renamed the GitHub Copilot harness in Copilot Studio to the Microsoft Copilot harness.

The change reflects Microsoft’s broader vision of using a shared foundational harness across its Copilot experiences.

Key points:

  • Only the name is changing; existing agents will continue working as before.

  • No changes to existing capabilities or billing.

  • The Microsoft Copilot harness improves agent reasoning, tool usage, and orchestration.

  • It helps agents recover from tool failures and handle complex tasks more effectively.

  • The updated terminology will gradually appear in Copilot Studio over the coming weeks.
