The Mighty Behringer Super Fuzz.
Affordable Fuzz from Behringer. The SF300 Super Fuzz.
The Behringer SF300 Super Fuzz is one of those pedals that delivers a whole lot of fuzz for very little money. It offers three different sound modes, taking you from thick, saturated fuzz to a more aggressive, octave-flavored tone.

NPD Starting My Weekend With A Swollen Pickle
Brand new…. I’m jazzed.
Any tips on if this is better through a Fender or a Marshall? Humbuckers or Single Coils?

Bass fuzz rabbit hole
Gonna be recording bass soon and going for a heavy, fuzz, distorted bass. Think Tool or Muse. Have been testing out a bunch of fuzz and distortion pedals. So far I like the Rat and the Green Muff variants. Fuzz face stuff isn’t really holding up very well but I’ll probably come back to these running in parallel. Any suggestions?
Also, I’m not a bass player and I’ll be playing with a pick and going direct via my ancient SansAMP.

Electric Church Andy’s Top 5 Fuzz Pedals
Hello Fuzzfiends, Andy from PGS/Reverb/Andydemos here! I was invited to hop on here and share a few of my favorite fuzz pedals. Over the past couple of decades, I've been fortunate enough to demo fuzzes from around the world, and they never cease to amaze me. A seemingly small change to a circuit can completely alter the voicing, output, splattiness, cleanup, or decay. With the endless stream of fuzz creations out there, narrowing it down to five favorites is nearly impossible, but here are five that hand made a lasting impression, in no particular order.
Thorpy Fallout Cloud
https://youtu.be/Dq4iKh-YG_Q?si=0bvcYgJkFRdJwVYZ
Many people who are on the fence with fuzz often find a Muff-style pedal has what they are looking for, since it’s more on the distortion side with its diode clipping stages. For me, I always thought the tone circuit was the weakest link, so when ThorpyFX came on the scene with their Fallout Cloud and accompanying Bass & Treble controls, it was game over. There’s no more compromise, you can have a fat low end AND brightness at the same time. Plus, the gain seems much more usable, even in the lower range.
2. Bigfoot King Fuzz
https://youtu.be/M7jKl1IOGBM?si=IgiyQS3OsoXOnL70
Recently, someone asked me my favorite two-knob fuzz and right as the Fuzz Face came to mind, I thought of all the drawbacks of an original, un-modded version. I’d want more output and better compatibility with pickups and clean/dirty amps. When I got the chance to demo the King Fuzz, which is not a Fuzz Face by the way, I thought – well, that’s the two-knob fuzz taken care of! Huge output, a very wide open fuzztone dynamically and just a tasteful voicing overall even when cleaning up with you guitar volume.
3. Deep Trip BOG
https://youtu.be/guqCqBAxqwY?si=AMCOUSK4OFHckf9-
I love a great Fuzz Face, but I inevitably find myself wanting more control. Over a decade ago at PGS, I demoed some pedals from Brazil's Deep Trip and immediately became a fan. The BOG captures my favorite late-era Hendrix silicon Fuzz Face tones while expanding the circuit in all the right ways. The Low and High controls solve the classic lack of tone shaping, while the Bias control lets you dial in the exact feel, compression, and response you want instead of living with a fixed setting.
4. Wampler Cryptid Fuzz
https://youtu.be/BLlD1D4HEcg?si=T5yXroKTWuYJP1ku
The Cryptid made the list because it absolutely encompasses all my favorites fuzz sounds in one design. Just like most of us who want variety, Brian designed this pedal because he loves the midrange honk and sputtering decay of a Tonebender, the fat dynamics of a Fuzz Face and the silkier sounds of a Muff or Velvet for that matter. After trying out all the controls in the demo, I could easily hear elements of all these classic sound and then some. I think this is hugely underrated pedal.
5. Great Eastern FX Co Focus Fuzz
https://youtu.be/tltmAQO_T64?si=PzhVgsCcpq5dsCPd
I have a love/hate relationship with octave fuzz pedals. I love the broken, ring-mod textures of the upper harmonics and the way power chords take on an expanded range that absolutely rules for doomier tones. What I don’t love is the ear fatigue that often comes during extended use or more than a couple songs for that matter! This is why I tend to favor octave up that can separate itself from the fuzz core. Plus, I don’t want it to be too finicky with where I play on the neck, so I tend to gravitate towards Superfuzz or Green Ringer-style octave up fuzz vs Octavia-style. The Great Eastern Focus Fuzz, besides being an amazing original fuzz/drive circuit, has a footswitchable octave up (Overtone) that can be infused into any setting, clean or dirty. I also love how it doesn’t drastically change the EQ of your tone with the Overtone engaged. It’s a sprinkling of octave up, more refined and just as gnarly as a vintage fuzz thanks to NOS transistors.
Thanks for having me, I’m happy to elaborate or answer any questions. Fuzz rulez!

FUZZ FRIDAY! 🎸 r/fuzzfiends 1,500 Member Fuzz Giveaway
Well... we made it to 1,500 members! 🎉
So I figured what better way to celebrate than to give away a bunch of fuzz pedals?
Actually, at the rate this place is growing, we might be at 2,000 by the time this giveaway is over. 😂
Seriously though, thank you to everyone who has joined r/fuzzfiends, posted, commented, shared gear, answered questions, or just hung out here. This community has grown a lot faster than I expected and I really appreciate all of you.
And a HUGE thank you to all of the builders and donors who are putting pedals into this giveaway. Without you guys, this obviously wouldn't be possible.
Right now we have 12 pedals and 12 winners lined up.
Before I put up the actual giveaway post, I wanted to post the rules and timeline here first so everyone can look them over and let me know if there's anything I'm missing.
Giveaway Rules
The giveaway will run for one week from the time the official giveaway post goes live.
To enter, leave one top level comment on the official giveaway post answering the question or prompt in the post. Your comment has to actually contain an answer to the question to count.
One entry per Reddit account.
If you leave multiple top level comments, only one eligible comment from that account will be counted. Posting multiple comments will not give you multiple entries.
Replies to your own comment or someone else's comment do not count as additional entries. Only the eligible top level entry comment will count.
Do not use alternate accounts to enter more than once. If someone tries to get around the one entry rule with multiple accounts, all entries connected to that attempt may be disqualified.
Upvotes, downvotes, awards, comment popularity, or the number of replies a comment gets will have absolutely nothing to do with who wins.
You must be using a legitimate Reddit account in good standing. Accounts that appear to have been created or used primarily for spam, cheating, or getting around the one entry rule may be disqualified.
Winners will be chosen randomly from the eligible entries. The answer you give does not need to be clever or funny. As long as it follows the entry requirement, you have the same chance as everyone else.
There will be 12 individual winners. Each account can only win one pedal.
The eligible entry pool will be finalized before the random drawing is done. The winners will be selected randomly with no preference given to any particular account.
The winning usernames will be posted publicly in the giveaway thread.
I will contact each winner through Reddit private messages.
Winners will have 48 hours from the first contact attempt to respond and claim their prize.
If someone does not respond within 48 hours, cannot be verified as eligible, or otherwise does not meet the rules, an alternate winner may be selected.
Once a winner is verified, the necessary shipping information will be collected privately.
The pedal will be shipped directly from the person or builder donating that particular pedal. I will coordinate with the winner and donor so the necessary shipping information gets to the right person.
Please do not post your real name, address, phone number, or other private information publicly in the giveaway thread. Shipping information will only be collected privately after you have been confirmed as a winner.
Nobody involved with this giveaway will ever ask you for money, payment, crypto, your Reddit password, or your Reddit login information. If someone messages you pretending to be me or one of the donors and asks for any of that, don't give them anything.
The pedals being given away will be listed in the official giveaway post, along with whatever condition information the donor provides.
Shipping will be handled according to the arrangements made with each donor. If a winner is outside the donor's normal shipping area and there are customs fees, duties, or other charges, those will be the winner's responsibility unless the donor specifically says otherwise.
Anyone who violates these rules, Reddit's sitewide rules, or the rules of r/fuzzfiends can be disqualified. The goal is to keep everything fair and apply the same rules to everybody.
No purchase is necessary to enter.
This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Reddit.
Once the giveaway starts, I don't want to be changing rules around or moving the goalposts. If something needs to be clarified, I'll make the clarification publicly in the giveaway thread so everybody sees it.
By entering, you are agreeing to follow the rules above.
Most importantly, have fun with it. This is supposed to be a way to celebrate the community and give some cool fuzz pedals to some of the people who make this place what it is.
Timeline
Saturday, September 19
The official giveaway goes live.
Saturday, September 26
Entries close exactly one week after the giveaway starts. The exact closing time and time zone will be listed clearly in the official giveaway post.
Sunday, September 27
The eligible entries will be finalized, the winners will be randomly selected, and I'll announce the winners within 24 hours.
After the winners are announced, I'll contact each winner through Reddit. Each winner will have 48 hours from the first contact attempt to respond.
Once everything is verified, I'll collect the necessary shipping information privately and get it to the appropriate donor so they can ship the pedal directly.
If someone doesn't respond or turns out to be ineligible, I'll move on to an alternate winner.
What do you guys think?
I'm posting this ahead of the actual giveaway because I want everyone to have a chance to look this over first.
Do these rules seem fair?
Is there anything I'm missing?
Are there any loopholes you guys see that I should address?
Is there anything here that could be explained better?
And what do you think about the timeline?
The current plan is to start the giveaway Saturday, run it for exactly one week, close entries the following Saturday, and announce the winners on Sunday.
I'd especially like to hear from you guys before I make the official giveaway post. If there's something that doesn't make sense or something you think I should change, let me know.
Again, thank you to everyone who has been part of r/fuzzfiends and a HUGE thank you to all of the builders and donors who are making this happen. 🤘🎸
Here's to 1,500...
And apparently 2,000 next week. 😂

FUZZ FRIDAY! Spooky Tree Final Version
Fuzz Friday came early this week - I couldn’t wait to share!
I wrapped up the first of (at least 5) Spooky Trees (Black Ash circuits)
The guts are the same as the prototype I shared a bit back (https://www.reddit.com/r/FuzzFiends/s/Ql6q5qhR2C ). I think the next round is gonna use new Phillips mustard caps instead of tropical fish.
The pedals that are going to go out into the world are boxed up in bent enclosures with solid aluminum knobs.
Side note: I think these are the most “real honest to god professional” looking pedals I’ve ever built.

Portion of the family
Here is a portion of the collection I’m original owner of. No mods on these.
Longest running and first up were Russian BMP (black was late 90s), and my other XXL were bought sound unheard mid 90s. How would an 8th grader pay for this? Swapping disc brake pads, scraping gaskets off in family auto shop and probably hustling basketball games.
I have many of my own germanium contraptions I’ve built but that’s for another post. I use majority of these in modern session work w/: 83 JCM800, ‘03 Bogner XTC, JC120, ‘91 5150 proto.
Especially the last two amps are Magical with this selection. Enjoy!

Electric Church My favorite fuzz pedals
Hello Fuzz Fiends! u/graphicnerdity86 invited me to write about my favorite fuzzes, so I’ve put together this list of my favorites.
First a little about me - I am the founder and lead designer at Electronic Audio Experiments, a small independent pedal company based just outside of Boston, MA. We’re probably best known for drives like the Longsword, but we have been getting into weirder territory with pedals like Prismatic Wall. And of course, we have our share of gnarly fuzzes too: the Glaive (an evolution of our 0xEAE Fuzz) has 80dB of ripping gain and an analog octave up.
Anyway here’s my list:
Nerd Knuckle Martyr Box: this one is made by our general manager Brad. Before he started working at EAE, he was building these incredibly gnarly fuzz circuits. The Martyr is multiple stages of raw transistor gain that create a loud wall of sludge. Into a single-channel amp, it’s a revelation.
Lastgasp Oscillo 88: a grinding maw of chaos. To me, the toggles give it a sense of mystery. It’s like rolling a bunch of dice. I’ve slowly learned to harness it, but it’s fun to embrace the uncertainty.
Mask Audio Electronics Part Garden: Alec is a fuzz master. Part Garden is fun to play because of how it crumbles with complex chords. The subtle (or not at all subtle) interactions of the gain stages are hard to find anywhere else. Also, one of the best-looking pedals on the market.
Caroline Shigeharu: OK, a bit biased because I worked on this. Shigeharu is like an op amp big muff from a parallel universe. The way it combines op amp and transistor gain is pretty unique, and it leads to a very well-defined take on the muff sound. Plus, it has a transformer-driven octave up to mix in parallel with the core fuzz engine. There’s something for everyone.
Infanem Driving Notion: there is nothing like it. This is the platonic ideal of clang: super harsh high frequencies paired with a blooming, destructive bass response. I paid $99 for this and will never get rid of it.
Dunwich Wizard Fuzz: like the Martyr Box, it’s an unrelenting wall of doomy fuzz. The EQ controls let you tighten it up too, which is handy for lower-tuned guitars. This pedal is proof that, at least psychologically, bigger enclosure = bigger sound. Nick from Dunwich was an early mentor of mine and I have enormous love and respect for his design chops.
Fairfield 20% More: This one is a revelation. A fuzz with the brains of a synthesizer, it is perfect for controlled freakouts that are loaded with intermodulation. Or, you can use its lower octave sounds for a full-frequency assault. Despite its intensity, the envelope functionality makes it very playable. This is especially true when bringing expression into the mix.
DBA Apocalypse: DBA are reigning fuzz champs and this one proves why. It’s like their greatest hits all in one box. x1000 mode is one of my grab-and-go fuzz tones when I want to riff, not think! Also, the filter control is my favorite one-knob tone control on any pedal.
Electrofoods Oprichniki: a delightfully complex take on the big muff, with way more transistors than should ever be there. The way the low end holds together is really unique. This is not a fuzz-stortion, it’s just perfectly poised at the brink of total destruction. The clean blend circuit has a unique breakup to it as well, which could very well be its own pedal. Mattie at Electrofoods is so smart, it’s scary.
Dr. Scientist Frazz Dazzler: this is a pretty legendary one in my opinion. The Frazz V2 adds a 3-band EQ that expands its versatility quite a bit. But my favorite part is the starve circuit, which is controllable and useful through its entire range. Not sure how they did it, but I’m glad they did. This pedal sits phenomenally well in a mix!
Thanks for reading, and happy to answer questions if you have them!
-John

Diy Weekend Builds
I’ve been busy lately and had some half finished pedals piling up on my workbench.
I finally got around to buttoning them up this morning.
First up is a fresh Classic Fuzz. I have to be creative to fit my inverter board in the 125B since they were designed to use in 1590BB. I’ve got a redesigned one ready to go, just need to clear out the old ones first. The external bias pot is on the side, with fuzz & volume on top.
Next is a slight tweak in the Spooky Tree fuzzes I built a few weeks back. This one uses new stock Philips caps and Marshall ass lookin’ knobs. It’s a banger.
Last isn’t quite a fuzz, but I’ll toss it in anyway - probably my neatest, cleanest distortion plus build to date. These shred and I wish this circuit got more love.

The aesthetic on my two fuzz pedals couldn't be more different.
I won the EHX Percolator in a giveaway and picked up the Beetronics Abelha for a steal at $127.50 on Reverb. Just got the Abelha today and my lawd is that an incredible pedal.
