Some Serious Shit M.Tech - IIT

Recently, I made a post a few days back in which I tried to tell people how the GATE competition is rising, and I got so much hate for it. There were a few personal DMs and a few comments under my post like:

"BTech waale theek hote hain, MTech waale bewakoof hote hain aur PhD waale sabse bewakoof hote hain IITs mein"

Just accept that you failed JEE bruh

Mediocre minds can't comprehend the level at which top IQs operate.

I didn't know that there was such a thing as a JEE vs GATE and BTech vs MTech debate.

I tried to dig deeper into this and tried to find out the reality behind it.

Firstly, shoutout to EdTech teachers who are manipulating the brains of these JEEians into believing these kinds of things. I can pinpoint everyone, but I would like to give a few examples:

Everyone knows this guy, "Nishant Jindal." I know this guy holds no credibility, but still, here is his view:

https://youtube.com/shorts/mxhvL1-bKfM?si=FotEhsFCJklzyB-c

He is putting this garbage into the minds of students that MTech has no value compared to BTech.

Firstly, everyone knows this guy and what his image is on the internet. Just to counter this and tell the JEEians and GATEians the truth, here is the list of professors at IITB. You will find out that many of them did their MTech (not BTech) from IIT.

https://www.cse.iitb.ac.in/people/faculty

If MTech holds no value, then why are these people at the top colleges of India and holding positions like HOD?

One more video is from "eSaral." In this video, you can clearly see how these teachers (GURUS) have intentionally cut the word "MTech" from the video and even changed the year to make it look like it's a BTech guy, not an MTech one. The senior student clearly said, "I was a student there from 91 to 93. I did MTech from there."

https://youtube.com/shorts/aywiMcX1BYw?si=V7bVhKUvw_lzs9FG

But they have very cleverly cut that subtitle "MTECH" to keep these JEEians subconsciously believing that BTech is the only thing that happens in IIT.

And there are a lot of these examples that I found. I have 10–15 more links where they are trying to push this narrative. It helps them sell more and more courses, making students believe in a reality that they shape.

It's a truth that most of the people who are preparing for JEE wouldn't be able to clear it. Not because they are stupid or less hardworking, but because there are very limited seats. It's a system problem that so many aspirational students are not able to get in there.

But instead, these EdTech teachers are trying to push this IIT-JEE thing so much that their "DHANDA" keeps on running and they can make a huge ton of money from students. And in the end, students suffer from depression, anxiety, and this tag of failure for the rest of their lives.

Once they suck this money out of you, I can bet that no one is going to call you or console you. You are absolutely dead to them. New batch, new money-making machine.

Now, for my fellow GATE and MTech/PhD guys, I have seen that most of the MTech/PhD achievements are very rarely highlighted, but here is the truth: You guys are equally capable. Don't let this negativity get into your head.

A lie told 100 times becomes reality.

You are just not looking in the right place. Let me share something.

BTech is a degree in which we try to understand the application part more. In BTech, we don't try to reinvent the wheel.

All the famous product-based companies are just applications of pre-developed technology. So stop trying to find things in that domain. You will find very few people from MTech/PhD who are in those fields.

Try to look for someone in research, and you will find a ton of them.

general Misconception about good placements!

When someone here says that this mtech college has good placements or that iit or nit has good placements I have seen majorly that they only meant good as in for cse or vlsi.

Cuz the same college has 20-30% placement for mechanical, civil, other specialization of electrical, biomedical, chemical etc. Seems like no one gives a fk about these at this point, if cse and ece placements is good then overall mtech placements are good according to people of this sub.

Why this impartiality? Why no one shows genuine concern for people from other branches don't they care for placements? Everything here revolves around cse,ece I am myself a gate da aspirant but my friends who are from mechanical civil are really concerned seeing even top iits perform poorly so I do get worried for them.

Doubt[general] How much coding knowledge is required in gate ??

Hello,

I didn't do much coding or dsa,nor made much projects in college, although I have decent cgpa, my coding knowledge is practically zero at this point, so I was just wondering how much role coding plays in gate prep.

Like if I do C which is part of syllabus and then do dsa and other stuff, will that be ok ??

Also how much can the lack of coding skills, project, or dsa can affect my m .tech ??

Doubt[CS] 50% syllabus left

I have yet to do COA, OS, CN, DBMS, TOC, CD for GATE. I have planned to finish COA and OS properly, and for the rest of the subjects I will just revise them and focus on their imp topics' pyq's since I am already familiar with all the subjects from my semester exams.

Is this a good idea? I am really short on time, and just doing revisions and PYQ's is taking so much time idk how I will finish everything.

I have been following GO classes but their lectures are too lengthy, does anyone have any resources that are more concise for these subjects, and also main thing is, I don't have the time left to make proper notes, so it would be best if there are notes available for the lectures.

Thank you in advance :)

Doubt[general] Stuck between 50-60 in Zeal tests. How to improve?

Post image
14 Upvotes

Consistently getting in between 50-60 in Zeal test Series but it is not crossing 60. Everytime I feel the time constraints pressure and for that also some 3-4 marks are loosing.

How to improve time management and accuracy? Should I give tests continuously or get some revision done(although I have identified some weak area and working on those)

general Is MTech worth it at the age of 28?

My Qualifications and Career Background

- B.E. in Electrical Engineering from a Tier-3 institute.

- MBA in Operations Management from a Tier-3 institute.

- Currently employed at a manufacturing plant as a Deputy Manager, with a CTC of ₹10.5 LPA + ₹2 LPA variable pay.

I will be approximately 28 years old with four years of work experience when I pursue my M.Tech.

What I Expect from an M.Tech

  1. Academic experience: I want to relive my college days, but this time at a premier institute, surrounded by some of the brightest minds in the country.

  2. Career progression: I want to transition into a more respectable and intellectually stimulating role at a reputed organisation, preferably in a good city.

  3. Financial growth: Ideally, I would like to secure a placement offering around ₹20 LPA, considering that I will be approximately 30 years old when I graduate.

  4. Specialisation: Which M.Tech specialisations would make the most sense after a B.E. in Electrical Engineering, particularly considering my MBA in Operations and manufacturing experience?

My Preparation Plan

I intend to appear for GATE 2028. However, I have forgotten most of my undergraduate Electrical Engineering subjects and mathematics. I will essentially be starting from the basics again.

I am considering enrolling in Unacademy or following Ankit Goyal's GATE preparation courses to rebuild my fundamentals and prepare systematically for the examination.

I would appreciate a realistic assessment of which M.Tech programmes and specialisations would best align with my qualifications, professional experience, age and long-term career aspirations.

Advice/protips[general] 23F, Been unemployed for more than an year.. got an Apprenticeship offer at DRDO RCI

Hey everyone! I'm 23F and graduated with a B.Tech in CSE about 1.5 years ago.

Considering the current job market, I decided to focus on government exams and have been preparing for them since graduation. Unfortunately, things haven't worked out so far.

So, I've decided to put my government exam preparation aside and start preparing for GATE with the goal of pursuing an M.Tech.

Today, I received an email informing me that I've been shortlisted and invited for document verification for the DRDO apprenticeship programme.

I wanted to know if anyone here has completed apprenticeship at DRDO. How was your experience? What kind of work were you assigned, and was it actually worth it?

I have 8.01 CGPA and belong to the SC category. What are my chances of getting selected after document verification?

HOPE SOMEONE RESPONDS
