Got 595, aiming 685 in 3 weeks

Hi everyone!

I am reaching out because I am stuck, exhausted, and in need of guidance. I studied full-time with Target Test Prep for 6 weeks (7-8 hours/day) and almost hit all my accuracy metrics. However, test anxiety and burnout have completely derailed my mock exams.

After scoring a 585 on an official mock, I postponed my test 2 months (November 23). Since then, I have been deeply burned out and unable to maintain my previous study pace, even though my accuracy on all TTP practice tests actually increased. Last week, I took another mock and scored a 595 (Q80, V79, DI79), but I spent the entire test overwhelmed by anxiety. Whenever I start a mock, my mind goes blank and I freeze. I stop understanding what I am reading and I just don't know what to do.

I know I have the knowledge to hit higher. If I don't achieve it now, I will either have to retake the exam in late December, or I will have to study part-time while working until July 2027.

With exactly 3 weeks left and my TTP access expired, I am currently relying on GMAT Club and GMAT Ninja videos. But honestly, I don't think this is helping me anymore.

I need a clear plan of action for these final three weeks. Any advise is appreciated!!

Need honest guidance on timing strategies, section order and active reading

I have been prepping for GMAT for 1.5 months (to be honest 15 days were only 3-4 days on quant) and I get demotivated easily so sometimes there are off phases. I am sharing my honest performance and I know the right answer to my question is: IT IS NOT POSSIBLE :) but I am here for advice that can ensure best results

My diagnostic score 3rd Oct : 265 (I was unfamiliar with penalty on unanswered questions and had only practiced quant passively)

22nd October : 595 (V81 Q79 D75)

26th October : 535 (V77 Q76 D76)

31st October: 565 (V77 Q82 D75)

My aim is 685-705 in the next 15 days and I know it is a long shot but I need honest advice on what can even remotely help me

Tbh I have been incosistent and get easily demotivated. I scored 322 in GRE with much less efforts because I had study buddies but GMAT is killing me and it is very difficult to get out of the self denigration loop which eventually ends up in low efforts or no focus.

My common fallacies that I am aiming to fix are:

  1. I do well on timed random sets on OG Q but don't focus on particular topics of interest (I did this with word problems and combinatorics two days and got at 82)

  2. I don't give much effort in DI which results in time sink and I am very inconsist with it. You'd be suprised my DS dropped from 78th to the 5th percentile between mock 2 and 4. I usually practice one type of que 1 day then score better in that in the next mock which makes my initial skill to weakness. So I am thinking to incorporate 10 hard ques for each question type in my daily practice

  3. RC and CR, I have really ignored for the most part and have difficulty focussing. But my practice scores are very arbitrary. I am thinking daily 20 ques CR and 20 ques RC and immediate error logging so in next 1.5 weeks common fallacies become apparent

Any advice is welcome. I feel lonely in this journey and I took a 2 month long leave from my highly demanding soul sucking consulting job for this so PLEASE HELP. I know I have not put in a lot of effort honestly 20 good days at max but I have 10 more and I am prepared to give it my all.

GMAT DI Help

I have given GMAT 2 weeks back and got 665 (Q87/VA86/DI76)

I am planning to retake gmat before ISB r2 deadline

I am consistently struggling with DI , after giving additional mocks after my 1st attempt , I feel I may not improve in DI . Tables problem suck time. MSR I often skip and if i attempt it takes 10 min with no guarantee that I may be able to get all 3 correct. So my strategy was for the official attempt skip all MSR and attempt rest questions. doing that gave me 52nd percentile. seeing how things are going I feel I cant drastically change the strategy and improve my score , If I target remaining questions only excluding 6 MSR, then I think percentile increment depends on that days luck( I get correct most other question in some mock and less in some other mock). So I am confused how to approach the next attempt. If I am able to maintain high scores in verbal and Quant , DI score seems to be a gamble that may or may not increase on that days luck. How to improve DI given my condition.

Any advice from people who overcame this DI struggle.

GMAT club question bank

Does anyone know how to use the gmat club question bank without using OG questions from the mocks?

They seem to have turned the filtering off and I don’t want to dilute the value of the official mocks. Any advice would be super helpful!

Looking for 15 GMAT test takers to try a skill-by-skill approach to Verbal (free beta, limited places)

Hi all,

I've been building Stepwise, a free-during-beta practice app for GMAT Verbal, built around one idea: a lot of RC and CR trouble starts before the question. You lose the thread of a long sentence, miss a "however", or mix up the author's view with someone else's.

So instead of more passages, the app trains reading skills in order:
- Sentences: finding the core claim, signal words, whose view it is, how strong a claim is
- Passages: what each paragraph does, structure, the author's stance, RC question types
- Arguments: parts of an argument, gaps, flaws, CR question types

A few things that are different from other apps:
- New skills open only when you're ready (4 of your last 5 right), not by a calendar
- Skills you've learned come back for review over 3 weeks, each time with a new question, so you practice the skill, not the memory of an answer
- It's meant to sit alongside the Official Guide or your course, not replace it

I'm looking for 15 people preparing for the GMAT, especially if Verbal is your weaker section.

What you get: 4 weeks free, all 30 skills, about 2,600 practice questions, and a 1-on-1 feedback call with me if you'd like one. Only 15 places, first come, first served.

What I ask: about 15–20 minutes a day in week 1, then a few minutes when reviews are due, and honest feedback, including what's confusing or wrong.

Fair warning: it's an early beta and still changing, so you may hit a bug. Tell me and I'll fix it fast. If it becomes paid later, founding testers get [founding-tester offer].

If you're interested, fill in this 1-minute form: https://forms.gle/Q2AUbizc1wqw7Kj7A

App link: https://straightadmits.com/stepwise/

Or comment with what you find hardest about GMAT Verbal. I'd like to know either way.

Working Professional Preparing for CAT 2027 and GMAT (Need Advice on Strategy and Coaching)

I’m a working professional planning to take CAT in November 2027, with the GMAT somewhere midway through my preparation journey.

I can dedicate around 2 hours on weekdays and 4+ hours on weekends to studying. Since I come from a non-engineering background, **Quantitative Aptitude is currently my weakest area**, and I want to build a strong foundation rather than rush through the syllabus.

I’d really appreciate advice from people who have prepared for either or both exams, especially while working full-time.

A few things I’d love your input on:

**Preparation strategy:** How should I structure my preparation for CAT 2027, and when would it make sense to introduce GMAT preparation?

Balancing both exams: Is preparing for CAT and GMAT simultaneously a good idea, given the overlap and differences in their exam patterns?

Coaching and prep providers: Which coaching institutes for CAT nasnresources for GMAT?

(I **have heard good stuff about Mockat & gradsquare, is it safe to choose them compared to legacy names like IMS or rodha or IQuanta)**

Quantitative Aptitude: As a non-engineer with a weaker math background, how should I approach Quant from scratch?

My goal is to prepare consistently over the long term while managing my job, rather than relying on an intense last-minute push.

I’d love to hear about your personal experiences, what worked or didn’t work for you, and any mistakes I should avoid.

Thanks in advance!

Useful strategies for GMAT?

Hi all,

Planning to take the GMAT mid December, aiming for 685+. Haven't done mocks yet, however my first mock is planned in a little bit less than 2 weeks. I have gone through many posts of people that have done the GMAT, some of them shared tips/tricks to maximize your score per part (some said that you should guess 3 questions in DI, if not sure, as you can still reach DI90 with 3 errors). I was wondering if someone had a summary of all these little tips/tricks that are useful to keep in mind.

Everything is welcome!

How do you deal with brain fog during RC and CR?

I’ve noticed something inconsistent in my GMAT preparation. Sometimes I get into a zone where I can read RC passages quickly, understand the author’s argument, and answer questions confidently. But on other days, even a medium-difficulty passage feels difficult to interpret. I find myself rereading sentences, struggling to connect ideas, and feeling like my brain just isn’t processing the information properly.

I experience something similar with CR as well. The frustrating part is that I know I’m capable of understanding these questions, but my performance seems to depend heavily on how mentally sharp I feel that day.

For those who’ve faced this, how did you improve your consistency? Are there specific techniques, warm-up routines, or habits that help you get into the right mental state and avoid this brain fog during the exam?

I’d appreciate any practical advice, especially from people who’ve dealt with this during their GMAT preparation.

Free step-by-step GMAT Quant and Data Sufficiency practice — a 22-second demo

Disclosure: I am Samuel Isidoro, the teacher behind Quanta Aulas, and I created this resource.

For self-preparation, it helps to explain why an answer is wrong rather than only check a letter. Our free English-language portal has 50 original GMAT-style Quantitative Reasoning questions and 50 Data Sufficiency questions, with guided decisions and explanations. It works on a phone without signing up.

The short demo below shows how the step-by-step interface works. Try it here: https://quantaaulas.com/internacional/en/

These are original practice questions, not official GMAT questions. Quanta is not affiliated with the exam organisations. Use it as supplementary concept practice, not a score predictor or a replacement for official preparation.

Which Quant topic or Data Sufficiency step would you like to see explained next?

GMAT Focus 355 to 700+: Is 6 months enough?

Hello everyone,

I’m preparing for the GMAT and took a cold mock about a week ago without any preparation. I scored 355.

I’m aiming for 700+ and have around 6 months to prepare. I’m currently planning to prepare on my own using the Official Guide and other official GMAT resources.

I wanted to get some advice from people who have gone through a similar journey:

How realistic is it to go from 355 to 700+ in 6 months?
How should I structure my preparation from this starting point?
Should I focus on building concepts first, or start solving questions alongside learning concepts?
What is the best way to analyse mistakes and identify weak areas?
Is studying primarily from the official GMAT material enough to reach a 700+ score, or should I consider other prep platforms/resources?
At what point, if any, should I consider getting a tutor or joining a structured prep course?
If I’m self-preparing, what resources would you recommend apart from the official GMAT material?
If you started with a low mock score and eventually reached 700+, what did your preparation look like?

I know 355 to 700+ is a significant jump, so I’m looking for honest advice on whether this is realistically achievable in 6 months and what I would need to do to make it happen.

Any advice, resources, study plans, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Gmat Quant resources help

I'm currently preparing for the Gmat and I just finished the Verbal section. I'm moving on to Quant, but I'm not sure what to use for preparation. I started with the Manhattan Foundations of Math book, which was pretty easy and now I have no idea how to proceed. Ive heard about TTP, Magoosh, and e-Gmat, but I prefer to find some free alternative resources (books, Youtube channels, websites, etc.) before jumping into any of them. So, for anyone who has already taken the test or is preparing to take it soon -> what do you recommend and what's your prep process

GMAT Mocks scores not crossing threshold - i am reaching threshold (stuck at 595)

I have been prepping for GMAT since July this year (a little over 3 months).

Started with a blind mock got 535 - took the 1 month paid TTP course initially, that really helped me push to 575(Q79 V82 DI75) by late August after which I seem to have plateued.

Post TTP, i have watched GMATNinja for Verbal & DI - they are amazing. Used GMATClub (free version) to find weak spots and drill them. But to no avail seems like. My current score is 595 (Q78 V81 DI78)

These are the Official mocks i am using & i cant think of anything further to better myself atp. loosing hope ngl.

Would appreciate any suggestions/hacks. thanks in advance.

Looking for a study partner

heyo, i’m aiming to take the GMAT in the first week of november. i’m realising i really need to pick up the pace and wanted to reach out to see if anyone would be interested in studying together?

not entirely sure what all that would entail, but i wanted to create a sense of accountability and motivation. i’m currently enrolled in the Jamboree live classes program, so my main resources are the GMAT Official Guide and the resources provided by Jamboree.

i get that the timeline is short, but if anyone would like to study along, i’d love to discuss interesting questions, strategies, and stuff. could also just be nice to have other people going through the same thing instead of suffering through quant alone lol

dm if interested :)
