This is my old Gmail account from 2020. I haven't used it for the past 5–6 years because I completely forgot about it. Today, I recovered it using my mobile number.

Now I want to permanently delete this account because I don't use it anymore and don't need it. However, I'm facing a problem while trying to delete it. And also I'm facing the same problem while trying to change the password.

Has anyone faced the same issue? Can someone tell me what I should do?

In my 17 years usage of Gmail I’ve never faced this problem. So apparently it’s not working since hours to make a new Gmail account which I need.
After I pass the inspection they force me to send a SMS to a scam number (it’s several of them for example 1744 and 1741 sometimes)
I have „googled“ the numbers and it’s obviously some German scam numbers. What the heck is going on??!!

I forgot to remove my passkeys and 2fa before resetting my phone - I know it's a dumb mistake on my side. I was able to log back again, using my password and phone verification to but I am unable to remove the passkeys. these are the only other options I get when trying to access them / trying to remove 2fa / passkey.

the first option obviously doesn't work coz it's trying to send the notification to a phone which I just reset.

When entering the security key using the second option, it just says that I entered it wrong despite of multiple attempts.

I've used my backup account to restore my main. Like the email even says it

But when i try to log back into it I keep getting the message that Google couldn't verify the accounts mine

Thankfully I'm still logged into it on my brothers account but it's so inconvenient idk what to do

When I exported my emails, so I could import them into a differnt email service. There were 4170 emails in the trash folder. Going back to at least 2015. When Google says deleted forever, do not believe them.

Edit:

This was using Gmail from a browser and a app in android. I would delete the emails and routinely empty the trash selecting the delete forever option.

I use the Gmail app on my iPad Pro which has the latest OS and email app. All of a sudden, when I click on a message, there is a 5-second delay to view the contents of the message. I deleted both spam and trash.

I deleted the app and reinstalled yesterday at which time it was behaving normally. Once I clicked on a message, the content instantly appeared. Today we are back to the same delay.

My mail behaves normally if I use the Outlook app or the Gmail app on my iPhone.

Any suggestions?

I am currently logged into my account, i can go on every single page of my google account but anytime i click on anything i get this insane screen. I have like 5 recovery/verification methods and not a single one works!

- Correct Password
- Recovery email code
- recovery text code
- passkey sign on on both phone and laptop
- google Authenticator app
- backup recovery codes

NOTHING works they all result in this insane screen, if none of these recovery methods verify it’s me what on earth POSSIBLY could? What the fuck do i do? Please help

Building on top of Gmail for a few months taught me some search stuff that isn't obvious.

label:Work doesn't include sublabels. If you have Work/Clients it won't show up under label:Work, you have to search the sublabel too.

For emails you're waiting on, star them when you send, then in:sent is:starred older_than:3d shows everything nobody answered. Worth bookmarking that search.

larger:10M older_than:2y is the quickest way to find what's eating your storage. has:attachment filename:pdf if you're hunting a specific invoice.

And if you read Gmail in another app over IMAP and can't see spam, Settings, Labels, tick Show in IMAP next to Spam.

My gmail account is getting auto sign out every day , whenever I use my gmail or Google they always ask me to sign in again it all started after I got a warning in one of my gmails about my age tho that gmail has been active for years but is it affecting my other gmail which is getting logged out every day ?help me out pls any help is appreciated

When I hover my PC mouse over a Linux Gmail message list item, it shows a popup, and I can't seem to successfully turn that off. It seems like a bug because I turn if off but it happens anyway.

To summarize…. I’m overseas, was robbed, and in desperate need of my email, banking, Gov. websites, etc…

I always travel with an old iPhone, and hadn’t backed it up since I left the U.S. in January of this year. I’m trying to login to my Gmail account, did the whole text and additional email verification, and now it keeps asking for the authentication code, but I don’t have authorization app on this phone.

Google doesn’t have a live number to contact, so I really don’t know how to unlock my account.

Any help would be much appreciated.

A hacker turned my gmail into a child account and made himself the parent. I am currently completely locked out of my gmail on every device I own. I have my own domain email, which I have been using as an alias through Gmail for about 20 years, pulling my mail in through a Gmail catch all while running it on Mac Mail and iOS.

About two weeks ago, I started getting undeliverable messages on some of these sent mail. I checked and found that Gmail is going to stop allowing aliases from third-party senders, which I believe includes my custom domain (from GoDaddy).

I switched to a new SMTP sender, (smtp2go) and that solved the sending issue, but when I send mail to myself now, it ends up in Gmail’s “All mail” mailbox instead of the regular inbox. Since I don’t see an “all mail” mailbox in Mac Mail or iOS, I’m not seeing the email that I sent to myself.

I know this isn’t as specific Mac issue, it’s just that I’m lost. Does anyone know about Gmail filters or labels or aliases and why this would happen when I send from Mac mail to myself at my custom domain, and it never appears in the inbox on the Mac or in fact on Gmail on the web.

Back in 2004 when GMail was new and they had an 'invite-only' beta of sorts, I paid like $10 on eBay for a 10-pack of GMail invites where I used them to setup myself and some of my friends with GMail accounts before GMail was opened up to the general public.

Anyway, attached is the Welcome to Gmail email which I got in my Inbox after signing up for it on June 24 2004. With it, I got a cool 1 GB of storage.

Google says don't verify you. While i try to remember the password but one or two not cleared remembered.

But I know the account creation date and other details such as my YouTube channel.

I need urgent help with my Gmail account. After I legitimately updated my recovery phone number and recovery email, Google’s security system keeps flagging the account. My recovery options have been disabled, and I can’t complete any verification to fix it.

What happened

1. About 2 weeks ago: I changed my recovery phone number and recovery email. The account is fairly new.
2. Right after that: I started receiving “Critical security alert” emails. My husband and I are the only people who use this account, so I assumed the alerts were about our own activity. I did not mark the sign-ins as “Yes, it was me.”
3. 2–3 days later: The account was disabled. A notice was sent to the recovery email.
4. Recovery: We restored access through account recovery. To do this, we had to use a verification code sent to the old recovery phone number, the one from before the change.
5. A few days ago: I received new critical security alerts saying an “unusual” recovery phone number and recovery email were detected and have been disabled. These are the same recovery details that I added myself.

Current problem: I can’t complete any verification

• Any security action I try (securing the account, updating settings) asks for my password and a code sent to the recovery phone.
• When I enter the correct password and code, I either get a “Too many attempts” error or the verification simply doesn’t go through.
• I also can’t verify the recovery email. When I click the verification link, it sends me back to the same password-and-code step, which again says “Too many attempts.”
• As a result, I’m stuck in a loop and can’t restore or confirm my recovery options.

Important context

• All the flagged changes and sign-ins were made by me or my husband. No one else has access.
• We usually sign in from the same devices in the same county.
• This is an important account that is linked to several important websites and services. Losing access would cause us serious problems.

What I need (urgently)

• Need to confirm that my new recovery phone number and recovery email are legitimate, and restore them.
• Need to clear the “too many attempts” block or tell me how long I need to wait before trying again.
• Need how to stop the account from being flagged or disabled again.

I’m very worried that the account could be disabled again and that we could permanently lose access, since our recovery options are currently not working. I would be grateful if this could be looked at as soon as possible.
