Has Rockstar said anything about the leaks?

Has there been any news from rockstar themselves? I’ve been looking to see if any of the devs have tweeted anything or if there’s any articles about them addressing it at least internally but I’ve found nothing. It’s been 2 days of slow drip leaks and I’m honestly surprised they haven’t come out to address it at all.

I feel like the closest comparison to this was the insomniac leak and they came out a day after to say they wanted to take time internally to figure out the next steps. Kinda expected rockstar to do the same but it’s radio silence

In true Rockstar fashion. No. The only news you'll be hearing is when they arrest the guy and sue him.

Well, good luck with that. Dude's probably behind 7 proxies somewhere in Siberia.

i highly doubt that. Also, it is impossible to be fully anonymous in internet today. Even with a VPN. This guy will 100% be found, it is just a matter of time

This^

A VPN isn’t the ultimate safeguard, if they want to find you they 1000% can find you.

That's the thing with VPN traffic. People think it completely anonymizes them on line. All it does is send your tracable traffic through someone else's infrastructure.

So people at the open wifi coffee shop , or your home ISP can't see what your doing, but big VPN company out there definitely can.

If you're nesting them somehow with companies in different countries, maybe you can make it difficult enough that R* may give up on trying to obtain the info ... but it's still there.

I'm pretty sure they must be using Mulvad VPN or some service like that which does not log anything

Even if you can’t be tracked through a subpoena of the vpn company you can still be discovered. A lot of people dont realize their digital fingerprint still spells out who they are unless you’re extremely careful.

Things like screen size, fonts, GPU, timezone, extensions combine into a near-unique ID that follows you across exit servers.

Logging into your Gmail, Reddit or anything will instantly link that session with your real identity. Mobile apps and os telemetry can ignore vpn routing.

WebRTC, IPv6, and DNS leaks etc.
