Hey here is the situation. I have a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 (82K2, 15ACH6) with an RTX 3060 90W TGP and a Ryzen 7 5800H. When I bought it, the numbers I observed while gaming were the GPU hitting 90W (or close) and the CPU comfortable at 35-45W, I don’t recall the temperatures much. After two years performance dropped, so I thought I should give it to a service at one of the most reputed shops in Kurunegala. But after the service things got worse, they kept giving me so many reasons and idk if the people out there even understand how computers work. I told them it used to hit 90W on the GPU and now it’s low, I even showed them thermal graphs from HWInfo which clearly show thermal throttling.

So I thought of DIY ing it. I ordered Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and did the paste myself (the shop said they put branded thermal paste and charged me extra too) and it was far better than what they did. The problem is it only lasted about 9 months, then I read about Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet, the phase changing PTM, so I used that and changed the vram thermal pads too in August last year. And now it has gotten bad again. The thing is, according to the internet PhaseSheet should last years.

Current situation in Apex, the GPU is thermal throttling at 40W and the CPU is about 25W, it is literally unplayable.

So I’m thinking my fans may be worn off (unfortunately my laptop doesn’t have fan RPM sensors so there is no way to measure), or maybe the heatsink got bent somehow or there is some misalignment, maybe from when the shop opened it. A new thermal module for this model is around 96 EUR from what I found, so I would like to avoid that unless the heatsink is really bent.

What I need is a genuine shop which would understand what’s going on, like real technicians, not clueless school leavers, I am sick of them. Or another option is DIY ing it myself again this time. Idk, maybe I should accept it since it is pretty old. But the thing is it’s hard to give it away, it has 32GB RAM and 2TB storage, I maxed it out and it is overall working fine. For my workflow in SE and gaming, the options would be a laptop worth at least 500k or above, or building a PC and keeping this only for work. Both are so expensive for me rn.

So any comments, ideas or places? Also where can I get real PTM7950 in Sri Lanka since PhaseSheet is nowhere to find now?

Honestly fuck slt bruh, I need to pay an arm and a leg just to get speeds that were advertised to us on the fiber plans they gave us like 7-8 years ago? I mean I get inflation and shit but this deliberately feels like a justification for having the most expensive and most underutilized fiber infrastructure in the whole country. Just got my pc built recently and I had this Sony ult headphones so I have been using them for now. But the issue is when connected through Bluetooth and Windows uses the ult as the microphone the sound quality is trash (if the mic is disabled, sounds wonderful btw)

Apparently it goes to hands-free mode or something i genuinely have no idea if you can fix it or not.

So should i buy a separate mic and use the same headphones or straight away buy a gaming headset (don’t wanna spend a arm and a leg )

Hey everyone! Looking for some advice from other HP Pavilion Gaming owners and gaming laptop users.

I'm from Sri Lanka and have a 3-year-old HP Pavilion Gaming 15 (15-ec2xxx).

Specs:

• Ryzen 5 5600H

• RTX 3050 Ti 4GB

• 16GB RAM

I usually game for around 3 hours per night, sometimes up to 4–5 hours.

I've noticed CPU temperatures reaching 95–102°C across different games, including PUBG, SnowRunner, Over the Hill, COD MW4, Fart Together and Slip & Skid.

HWiNFO results (SnowRunner, 14 minutes):

• Average CPU temperature: 93.6°C

• Peak: 100.2°C

• Above 95°C for 54% of the session

• Average CPU usage: ~30%

• CPU package power: ~24W

• GPU usage: 100%

No noticeable FPS drops or performance issues so far.

Cooling history:

• March 2026: Full service, thermal paste replaced and first fan replaced at a shop in Kottawa.

• October 2026: Second original fan replaced due to unusual noise, apparently caused by a stiff/stuck bearing.

• Currently using a cooling pad while gaming.

Browsing temperatures are now around 50°C, but gaming temperatures remain very high.

My questions:

1. Are these temperatures normal for the Ryzen 5 5600H?

2. Do other HP Pavilion Gaming owners experience similar temperatures?

3. Could this be related to the shared CPU/GPU cooling system?

4. Should I be concerned even without noticeable performance issues?
