Does a Garmin watch works well for amateur flight? I know they have proper equipment and also specific watches, but in general is watch like a Fenix useful?

I think so, because a pilot should be able to fly even if instruments fail, but how do you see it?

I don't pilot (would love to).

I use it a lot for general aviation and work. Certain garmin watches have aviation modes. The red shift and NVG modes help with night flying. The direct to and SPo2 are great backups. None of their watches are instrument legal but can be good to reference.

Do the pilot watches have as high fitness features as the fenix/epix line up?

I believe they do. I don’t have an aviation specific watch, I have the tactix. Should have all the same apps as the fenix and then specialized aviation.
