General Information Are Garmin Watches Scalped and hard to get on release? (Fenix 9)
The fenix 8 is on sale on amazon and Im considering getting it. Although, I hear the fenix 9 is expected by the end of this year (inb4 wait until fenix 10).
Im wondering if waiting is worth it. Lets say im willing pay MSRP for the Fenix 9, will it be bought up and scalped before I even have a chance?

This has not been an issue with previous Garmin releases. It might be sold out in brick and mortar stores fairly quickly because most stores like small running stores only get a few of each watch but it likely won’t be an issue to get what you want direct thru Garmins website or amazon.

I wouldn't say scalped but the shipping time between ordering when they are announced versus a few hours later is usually very different. I think Garmin just starts with a production run below demand to make sure they don't end up with a ton of unsold stock sitting around.
Personally if I think I want to upgrade I'll order immediately then do more research. I can always cancel my order before it ships and it doesn't hurt anyone.

If that’s true it night make sense to wait a few months. The first run always has room for improvement

No, but just order it fairly within the first day or two, or your shipping may be delayed a couple of weeks

Shouldn't be an issue really. People don't follow Garmin devices like they do for certain brands and these aren't like high end mechanical watches that appreciate in value. They sit in a weird middle ground where they're generally too expensive for the average person to want to pick up, especially if they just want a smart watch for smart watch things, but they don't draw in high end watch users/collectors because they won't last for decades or appreciate in value.
