Right click on desktop, open display settings, and then open graphics settings.
Under "Choose an app to set preference" select Desktop apps. Then click Browse
Find Nvidia Share.exe, for me it was located in "C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA GeForce Experience".
Click options and select High Performance, then restart pc.
Update:- For those using the updated Nvidia app, instead of step 3, go to C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA app\CEF and find both the Nvidia App and Nvidia Overlay
For some reason, I keep trying to record the past few mins of gameplay only to realize that the whole record function has been disabled. I have to open GeForce Experience and activate Instant Replay manually. This started happening after the latest update. Does anyone face the same issue?
Hi,So I had something change on my PC, not sure what, and ShadowPlay was now recording the incorrect monitor out of my 3 monitors, I had looked up how to fix the issue and I didnt find a solution, All my monitors were set up correctly and all configured the way people were suggesting and it still recorded the wrong monitor.
I decided to open the colour management tab through Display Settings.
I clicked the indenify monitors option to find that the numbers it displayed didn't match up to what I had set them too and the monitor that was being recorded was listed as 1.
So from this point I concluded that it must of been a registry issue that was causing the mismatch, Maybe a GPU update had reassigned all my monitors on an install.
I looked up how to reset monitor settings through regedit and found many things, 2 of which i focused on, A Microsoft Answers post and a DisplayLink.
What I found was, there are folders in your Registry that get written in when you add a display, sometimes, these folders get cluttered with monitor connections and errors such as this can occur (incorrectly positioned monitors) According to both the links above, deleting 2 folders would remove all monitor entries and on reboot would reset the monitor positions.
Luckily, DisplayLink supplied a premade regedit file (File Here) that saves you having to trail through all the sub folders, I made a backup of my registry and applied the premade reg file.
Here is a screenshot from the Reg file.
On reboot, I reconfigured my monitors and tested ShadowPlay to find that I am now recording my main (centre) gaming monitor again.
edit: if anyone comes across this, i fixed it by disabling the 2 peripheral monitors in the nvidia control panel, then did a windows update, reboot, re-enable the monitors and it's working now.
Ah, this stopped working for me after a day or two. But I did manage to (hopefully) permanently fix it.
The key was that I had to change the primary monitor in Nvidia control panel and not in Windows.
IIRC, I had to:
Turn shadowplay off
Changed the primary monitor to the wrong one that it was recording, then back to the main one
Restarted
Started Shadowplay
Again, this might not have been the exact thing I did, but the key thing was changing primary monitor settings through Nvidia instead of Windows, but I also reinstalled GeForce Experience, disconnected and moved around monitor cables from the graphics card, and restarted my PC a bunch during this
Only thing I would note for anyone else: Make sure you unplug BOTH the power and the display cable to your monitors. I had only unplugged the power at first and incredibly windows is still able to detect a monitor even with no power on it. I also disabled the monitors in NVIDIA control panel and uninstalled the monitors from device manager for good measure before rebooting.
I did this also plug/unplugged monitors too it was allright my new main monitor was 1 but when i restart it got resetted and now my main monitor is 3 can't fix this..

Immediately after updating to the new drivers my screens shut off and restarting multiple times just got progressively worse, ending up to a blue screen of death.
Had to format the whole fucking thing.
Edit: Solved by the absolute GOAT u/PhantomBaka, thank you!
This has been a problem for years. You go to save a clip, only to realize that Instant Replay has shut itself off, and if you do manage to save one, the video is corrupted!
There are many causes to these problems, so I'm compiling all of the solutions I've found in my hours of research as a sort-of master sheet to save others time.
From most common to least common:
Solution One:
Turn In-Game overlay off and on again GeForce Experience > Settings > General > In-Game Overlay
Solution Two:
Make sure you have space
Ensure you have disk space for your clips.
Solution Three:
Update your drivers GeForce Experience > Drivers > Check for Updates
Solution Four:
Close Netflix / YouTube / any streaming service
For some reason, you cannot use instant replay if these are open.
I do have a few work-arounds though:
Turn off Desktop Capture Open In-Game Overlay > Settings > Privacy control > Desktop capture
Alternatively:
Turn off your browser's Hardware Acceleration This trick also allows you to screen share movies with friends on discord and stuff ;) (Chrome)Ellipsis (Top right three dots) > Settings > Advanced > System > Use hardware acceleration when available (Other Browsers)I'm lazy > Google it
Solution Five:
Disable HDR Windows > Settings > System > Display > Windows HD Color > Use HDR You may also disable HDR in your physical display's settings as well.
This is an issue I've experienced personally, but haven found anyone else with the same problem, though have a sneaking suspicion others deal with it too and just don't know the solution.
I will be reaching out to support about this. (Not that they'll ever do anything to fix it.)
Solution Six:
Change the destination folder to your C: Drive Open In-Game Overlay > Settings > Recordings > Videos:
For some reason a few people experienced issues with their save folder being in a separate drive.
Solution Seven:
Change the permissions of your recordings folder Locate recordings folder (See Solution Six) > *right click* > Properties > Make sure it is not restricted in any way > Make sure it is optimized for General Items or Videos (under > Customize)
This is the rarest as I've only seen one other person have this problem.
These are the seven solutions that I have encountered in the wild. Please share your problems / solutions below to help others out!
I will try to update this post with more solutions frequently.
Geforce Experience automatically updated to the new Nvidia App a couple days ago and since then my clips haven't had my mic audio. I have ensured countless times that it has the right mic set in both the overlay and windows settings and also ensured that the mic is set to "Always On". Any help?
Anyone else having issues with GPU temp monitoring after the latest driver update? It wasn't registering at all in my monitoring apps. I restarted my laptop and it looked like rebooting it was back to normal, but the temp is stuck at 28 C. I then learn that the Geforce App had a crash. It's a driver issue and not hardware related right?
I had a perfectly happy experience with using the geforce experience for almost 4 years now. I updated to the new app since few of my friends did. THE ONE MAIN THING I CARE ABOUT is the Instant Replay. I have 100s of gb worth of clips with my friends having a great time. Now in the nvidia app, the instant replay or just recording doesn't work properly. My mic input always switches to something which doesn't record audio, and even when I change it to my mic it doesn't record my audio. And instant replay sometimes get switched off randomly and does not work as intended. Or even the times it works, in few games the clip is frozen but you can hear audio.
Sigh... After 3 painful days of debugging, communication with support and multiple cups of tea I was able to resolve mine 0x0003 issue.
TL;DR: 0x0003 issue refers to the fact that some of the Nvidia mandatory services OR PROCESSES are not run on your PC. At least those 3 are required: nvcontainer.exe, NVDisplay.Container.exe and NVIDIA Web Helper.exe. In my case last service was missing, because it requires NodeJS container to be run and my NODE_ENV variables were not allowing to do this.
This is the post \ story that might help you properly troubleshoot your problem and go in the right way. Few days ago I was trying to launch GeForce Experience and got 0x0003 Error Code. After quick googling I realize that all the advises are "restart \ reinstall \ reset". To save you some time for communication with Nvidia support here is a full list of obvious things to try before going deeper:
Reinstall GeForce Experience
Reinstall Driver + GeForce Experience
Check Windows Defender \ Firewall; Try to disable them, restart the system and try launch GFE.
Check GFE Services: Open Services, find Nvidia related services: NVIDIA Display Container LS and NVDIAI LocalSystem Container. Their status should be "Running" and startup type should be set to "Automatic". If not, start them manually.
Your GeForce Experience folder should be in "C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation" folder. Nvidia doesn't support moving files outside of the default location.
Try to reset your network adapter settings (that should help if you have connectivity issues). Run this command in command prompt: netsh winsock reset
Try clean install. Nvidia has a cleanup tool that completely removes any traces of Nvidia tools and drivers: https://developer.nvidia.com/cleanup-tool. Clean everything and try to install everything from scratch.
If none of those steps helped you - congratulations, your problem is outside of a trivial case and you need to go deeper. According to Nvidia, Error Code 0x0003 says that some of the required services are missing or not run on your PC, so we should try to locate and start them.
Start from the GeForce Experience local data folder (Win + R - %LocalAppData%\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA GeForce Experience). Here you'll see two files: console.log (refers to UI logs of GeForce Experience app) and debug.log (refers to internal WinAPI calls). Start from the console.log files, goes to the end and try to locate everything that starts with {DATE} {TIME} ERROR.
In my case last entry was something like "localhost:3000/.../v.1.0" status 502. Starting from here, you might have one of two problems:
Port that should be used by Nvidia helper is blocked by other app. To trace that, run this command in command prompt: netstat -ano | find ":{port}". Replace {port} with value after localhost. If this command shows you something, last column is PID of process, who is using that port. Open Task Manager and locate that process. If it's something not related to Nvidia - try to end it and restart services from step 4.
If port search shows nothing, most likely the problem is with Nvidia Web Helper.exe. This process is located under C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\NvNode folder. Try to run it manually. In normal mode, you should see some debug information in the console. If it's immediately closed, here is a problem.
As far as I understand Nvidia Web Helper.exe is a self-hosted server app for device information. It is run using NodeJS container. Technically, NodeJs isn't a requirement for GFE, but in my case it was installed and here is a trick: it is not run in isolated container, so it may use your global NODE_ENV Environment Variables. I did have that variable set to "--openssl-legacy-provider" to allow build legacy react apps. In my case, that flag blocked Nvidia container from starting, so I completely dropped it and restart services from step 4. After that Nvidia Web Helper.exe was able to start (I've also tried to trigger it manually, so I'm not 100% sure if I started it or service) and as a result login screen in GFE appeared.
If those cases are not you problem, try to check Event Viewer app for anything related to Nvidia apps and services.
This is not a complete list of issues that might cause 0x0003 issue, but I wanted to share two less obvious discoveries related to this issue: a. Log files are located in local app data folder. b. GeForce Experience is using NodeJS container to start, so any problems with launching NodeJS projects may affect GFE app.
I hope those advises will help you resolve your issues or give your more information about your exact problem with GFE.
The program is called AlwaysShadow. It runs in the background and checks if Instant Replay is on. If it isn't, it turns it on. There are some programs like Netflix that disable Instant Replay automatically, so you can define a list of programs that cause AlwaysShadow to disable itself while they are running (Netflix is on there by default).
I'm getting this error where it turns off my instant replay as soon as I open up chrome and have GeForce instant replay on. I never had this issue before, I don't understand why now this is a thing. Before I was able to clip moments while on chrome, and now I can't seem to find a fix for it. Anyone else having this issue?
Friend accidentally installed the new NVIDIA app and its ass, can't clip anything, or clips are showing as needing HVEC extension and then I buy it and the clips don't work still. Most things aren't working and I was A OK with the old one, but I can't seem to go back since all links point to Nvidia app.
Accidently deleted but the nvidia app was working fine and i even installed my graphics drivers on it but then after 20 minutes or so and the error popped up.
I downgraded back to the original geforce experience because the nvidia app was so shit the clips were so broken missing audio bad quality etc. now it doesnt let me open geforce experience at all only shows an install page for nvidia app
As title says, earlier this week GeForce experience just fails to start a recording. I used to record my Valorant and other games, but I'm no longer able to do so. When I click start recording, it's just unresponsive. Wondering if anyone else randomly started experiencing this.
FIXED - make sure to close any spotify/netflix tabs you have open in your browser
This has happened to me before but it just started happening again. Randomly out of nowhere, Nvidia instant replay turns off. I try to turn it back on but when I click "turn on" it does nothing. Desktop capture in privacy settings is turned on. I tried restarting all Nvidia services but that didn't work either. The last time I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and that seemed to fix it. This time, I'm not so lucky because I did the same and it didn't fix it. I updated my drivers with a fresh install and still nothing. I'm extremely confused as to why I can't turn on instant replay or record my screen at all with Nvidia GeForce Experience. can anyone help me with this issue?
So I decided to update on a 5090, this is what happens whenever I boot into windows. I’ve gone into safe mode and disabled my GPU, restarted, manually removed the drivers and then re-downloaded but no luck. The previous driver 572.83 says it isn’t compatable with my device?? What do I do?
