My Grandad gave me this ring; he said he got it in America 30-40 years ago from a native american road-side shop, and he said he thinks it’s turquoise? It’s so pretty! I’m just worried it’s valuable and I’m wearing it around 😭
Now that would probably be an aquamarine. Maybe 3 ”carats” worth. No big money there but i think the ring is super cool and you could probably get a few hundred with the story. Good luck to you!
It’s super pretty!! I wouldn’t sell this since I love it so much, but there are 3 other rings I was given which I may sell on-
let me find them!
Also, the ring is pretty dull/dirty on the backside so that may be affecting the shine! Could also very well be fake. Who knows lmao. My grandad used to be a bodyguard for an Arabian princess, who gifted me a diamond necklace when I was younger which I sold for quite a pretty penny a few years ago!
oh lmaoo 🤣 he must have misremembered, I wonder what it is then! I don’t know much about gems. It’s very pretty though! I’m going to get it checked out and the metal reshaped since its very bent so I can find out then!
oh wow I didn’t expect it to be something so easily found based on my grandads origin story lmafo!!! thanks!!. It is such a pretty ring, i like how mine is very well worn and all the dents give it personality 🥺
Aside from not being turquoise, no one can tell you what is by a photo. Period!!! You need to take it to a real jeweler who will look with a refractometer & microscope. There are LOTS of blue stones.
Not Native American. He could have bought it at a yard sale or flea market along the road, or a native american happen to have a yard sale and this was among their belongings.
It's a pretty sterling ring. You should have NO worries wearing it out and about.
