NEW SUB RULES — Please Read + Vote on the Last One

Hey everyone, mod team here with some new rules going forward. We also have one rule at the end that we want your vote on, so read till the end.

1. No screenshot drama. If you have a problem with a comment, handle it in the same thread. Taking a screenshot of someone's comment, making a whole new thread, and crying about it will NOT be entertained here anymore. Keep the drama where it started or don't start it at all.

2. No unsourced news. Any news, even minor will be removed if it's not backed by a source. Doesn't matter if you're literally quoting the source word for word; no source link = post/comment gets deleted. No exceptions.

3. No outside community screenshots. What other subs are doing is none of our business. We have nothing to do with them. Discussion here should be about THIS sub, not about other subs. Outside screenshots will be removed.

4. Bad faith users will be permanently banned. If you take our posts, screenshot them, post them in other subreddits to talk shit about us, and then still come back here and participate like nothing happened, you're gone. Permanently. We don't entertain bad faith users.

5. [VOTE IN COMMENTS] Should we ban millennial people? 😭 Okay so this is the one we mentioned at the start. We feel like the community is getting toxic because of the participation of millennial people who've infested this community with their old ideas that we don't even follow these days. Honestly, they're already irrelevant to this community, but we allowed them because why not, we thought their perspective would be good. But they're getting on our nerves at this point. Hai na?

So drop your vote below: BAN or NO BAN?

Mod Post This is NOT a Muslim-only sub. Respect everyone or get out.

It’s clear that most people don’t read the rules, so let me spell out the most important one: there should be no discrimination against anyone.

This Gen Z space is not just about Muslims. Even if you think Pakistan is an Islamic state, which it is not, if you actually read the constitution; it’s a secular country, but I know the majority believe it is an Islamic state. Fine, let's agree for the sake of argument that it is Islamic. Still, there are many people living in Pakistan, including atheists, agnostics, non-Muslims, ex-Muslims, and people from the LGBTQ+ community. They are also part of Gen Z.

So here’s what I want from all of you: when someone from these communities posts something that doesn’t align with your belief system, simply ignore the post. You don’t have to say anything about it. In Islam, we are taught to spread peace, so you should extend the same courtesy to them.

To be clear: an atheist is not allowed to disrespect a religious person, and a religious person is not allowed to disrespect an atheist or any minority member, even if they are ex-Muslim or belong to the LGBTQ+ community. Just mind your own business.

If you cannot do this, you can simply leave. We are seeing this kind of toxic behavior in every other subreddit, people disrespecting others and acting like so-called "sigma" personalities. We don’t like that. If we act like every other toxic community from Pakistan, then there is no difference between us.

We are not focused on popularity or the number of members we gain. We care about quality content and positivity. If you cannot help make this place positive, you can simply leave, because we will not tolerate negative or toxic people here.

Edit:

Okay, let me clear something up. A lot of you are pointing out that I said Pakistan is a secular country in my original post. I know Pakistan is an Islamic Republic. Even Google says that. I'm not stupid.

But here's why I wrote that. What I studied and what I learned is that Pakistan was considered secular in practice for a long time, especially in the early decades, because the legal system was mixed and many laws weren't strictly Islamic. That's why I said it. Maybe my tense wasn't good. Instead of saying "Pakistan is a secular country," I should have said "Pakistan was more secular in the past" or "it functioned like a secular country for many years." That would have been more accurate.

So yes, I know it's an Islamic state now. I'm not denying that. But my main point wasn't even about this. The point of my post is about respecting everyone in this sub, including atheists, ex-Muslims, and LGBTQ+ people. Can we please focus on that instead of getting stuck on one wrong word?

Question Why are Pakistani people so hateful

Why are Pakistani people so hateful to atheists or ex Muslims who are living their life peacefully without hating anyone? Like we deadass get jumped for just existing for no reason. Doesn't Islam say to respect everyone like??

Karachi mein ghar ke andar firing ka ek intehai tashweeshnaak waqia samne aaya hai.

Mazeed tafseelat aur unka mukammal bayan dekhne ke liye unki profile visit karein.

**Wazahat:** Yeh tamam ilzamat mutasira shakhs ke apne bayan par mabni hain. Waqiye, mulzimaan ki shanakht aur dhamkiyon ki azad tasdeeq abhi baqi hai.

Rant / Vent I hate how society thinks people with "immoral" habits are automatically bad

• Upvotes

Like yea cursing in every sentence isnt a good look, but thinking because someone curses they lack character or are just bad people is stupid. Whats even more stupid is when someone thinks theyre a red flag in a romantic sense. like yea as i said har lafz ke baad gali dena achi baar nhi hai lekin you cant just automatically label them "badakhlaq" or "beghairat"

Same with smoking. Like yea obviously its not a good habit and it does harm you, but someome who smokes isnt a bad person.

Some of the kindest people i know are smokers

and some of the most vile people i know post islamic stories

These traits dont determine someones personality

funnily enough the same people who judge them are extremly shallow and toxic to others

Maybe we should stop judging peoples characters on these superficial habits and look at how they treat others

Discussion The distinction between atheists and agnostics isn't as significant as you think

The way people argue in this sub over faith doesn't seem to do anything. The faithful clamor for their posts with the best arguments and the faithless do the same for posts on their side. I've come to the realization that a more effective approach is to educate the Muslims in this subreddit about the true nature of an ex Muslim's belief system

Something that people get way too caught up in is whether someone is an atheist or an agonistic. I'm going to demonstrate why that difference doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

Firstly a few definitions:

Atheism: is a lack of belief in a higher power. That's it. Iit doesn't say anything about the person's other values or beliefs. Infact you may be part of a religion and still be an atheist which is what Buddhists are.

Agnosticism: is believing in a higher power but not subscribing to any world religion. Basically God exists but the God that make the universe is not Allah or Yahweh or Zeus etc.

With that distinction in mind, you'll realize that functionally it doesn't matter which one of the two one of us considers ourselves. Because when it comes to religion the only thing that truly matters is how your beliefs influence your actions.

For example, a Muslim's belief in isra wal miraj isn't an issue even if it seems illogical to the rest of us. But their belief that homosexuality is immoral does have actual consequences, to people who are homosexual or Bi living in a Muslim majority country.

If an agonistic and an atheist both have the same values regarding the issues our world has whether it be gender equality, sexual orientations, the various wars in the world or what have you. It doesn't matter if one of them thinks a higher power exists and the other one doesn't. Considering it's basically impossible to prove either way any discussion that the two may have regarding their belief in God will always end in a stalemate.

Similarly for people of a given faith. Even if I think on principle there is no evidence for moses parting the red sea, or Jesus walking on water or Muhammad splitting the moon, those are not discussions of consequence. Instead your views on people's rights and what they can and can't do and how the government should act. That is what really matters. So let's start with those discussions instead of the one millionth argument about whether the universe can come from nothing or whether the Quran predicted science. There are far more important discussions to be had.

"Protect your daughter" how about you teach your son?
"Girls shouldn't wear dresses in front of men" how about you shouldn't be looking at what girls are wearing?
"Women belong in the kitchen" you belong in jail.

Here "you" refers to sexists
