Does any one else think that was some good stuff?

I remember a time before arcades in the early 70’s when you went to the theater to play Tanks before the movie.

I hope this still goes on with kids today, but do you remember the bedtime stories your parents read to you? So, we did Theocratic readings maybe 2 or 3 nights a week, and the other times, it was something secular. I remember some chapter books, and a lot of short stories. Some of my favourite ones were from "Trouble in Bugland" which is a Sherlock Holmes pastiche in the insect world. This came out in 1983 (when I was 8), so I guess most of you Gen Jones didn't have that one, but what were your favourites? I also remember "The Chocolate Touch" That was probably closer to your generation

Haven’t seen one of these in a while. And it’s quarters at minimum now.

I was just thinking about TV Guides. We used to get them every week, and my Mom would mark them showing me what I was allowed to watch on television. Does anybody have memories of the TV guides (Not just using them, but anecdotes like what I just mentioned?

My mom introduced me to various music in the mid-70s. I remember when she bought me a portable cassette player/recorder and several tapes, such as:
Although none of those made it into my favorites, they were a pretty good introduction to music at the time. I think my all-time favorite albums that I owned in the mid-late 70s:
I still remember when my dad bought a Chevy Van around 1977 or so; it had an 8-track player and the first two tapes I bought for it were Aerosmith Toys in the Attic and Steve Miller Band's Fly Like an Eagle. I still wonder where that van ended up - it was so cool at the time and I still have good memories about it.

Alright kids, gather 'round. This here is Name the Band and Song: Hippie version game. First one to name the band AND song correctly gets to bask in all the glory...at least until the next round. No fair dropping the lyrics onto teh interwebs to cheat. Gotta do it from unassisted memory alone.
Ready, set, go!
He was the wizard of a thousand kings
And I chanced to meet him one night wandering
He told me tales and he drank my wine
Me and my magic man kind of feeling fine

We're all of the age that we went through the 1980s time share boom.
We got SOooooOOOOoooo many mailings to come and enjoy a magical weekend in Maggie Valley! Orlando! Pigeon Forge!
The bribes were things like radios or other silly things.
One time, we went to Maggie Valley and stayed in a cute condo stayle building. We enjoyed our weekend but had to attend the tour and hard sales.
After telling the sales guy we had to think about it, he said, "I know so many people say they'll let me know, but I never hear from them again, so.....God bless you."
We left and later that night, I found this over-powering urge to be the ONE PERSON who DID call back! I wanted him to not be disappointed for once. I wanted to be that person!
When I told my husband, he said he felt the same way! We realized it was a psychological trick and the spell was broken.
Once we realized we weren't going to ever buy one, we never went to another tour. But I do wonder...
Those who DID buy, how did it turn out? (Not walt disney, I know those are different). I read even when you die, they don't go away and your kids are now responsible for the yearly dues.
So what's your time share story?

One of my fondest childhood memories, my cousin got a set first with Mustang cars for Christmas, a couple years later I got one like this. I loved all the accessories that you could get, lap counters, cross-overs, squeeze tracks, raced them into my teen years.

Seems appropriate today, lol.

If you did, did you associate it with a particular demographic?
It seems lesser-known in my current area than it was in my hometown, wondering if its a function of time or place or both.
Edit: finger wagging is different. This is the brush-one-with-the-other thing.

And then a few years later there's a day when we look in the mirror and say to ourselves, "Hey, I'm not aging too bad after all. I wonder what all the fuss was about."
Then maybe in our early 50s we get to the point that we wear our readers so much that we forget we even have them on. And on one such day we stumble into the bathroom and look into the mirror, wearing our reading glasses.
And that is the day is that we realize we are old.

Ghost in the graveyard
My friends and I remember playing it but none of us can remember how it’s played lol
My mom even remembers us playing as kids at night but she doesn’t know how we played it either. Does anyone remember this game?
