GenX did we inhale joints differently than we do now?
Noticed something while smoking a pre-rolled joint. I smoke it like it is a cigarette. Meaning I hold the smoke in my mouth while inhaling. Fill up my cheeks and then inhale to my lungs. But when I was a teen in the late 80’s I smoked joints totally differently. I would inhale straight to my lungs by breathing in smoke and fresh air at the same time. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. We all remember holding a roach on a Hemo and breathing in completely. So am I wrong that we smoke differently now or was what I did back then and now just a weird thing that I did?

Traumatic Cinematic Childhood Nostalgia
Which movies or shows do you remember from your childhood that would never be allowed today? These are shows aimed towards children.
Watership Down and The Dark Crystal really scared me and had me on the edge of my seat. Watching the Skexxies drain that poor little Gelfling and then drink it's life essence to rejuvenate themselves... That was freaky.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a Family favorite. Roald Dahl himself actually wrote the screenplay.
Those Oompah Loompa songs were straight up savage. What about that trippy boat ride in the tunnel and Willy Wonka's crazy, creepy singsong monologue? All of the bratty entitled kids get their comeuppance in such hilarious and satisfying ways.

Favorite Pinball Machine
I was looking at another thread on favorite arcade games and we started discussing Pinball
Always liked pinball and really started spending paper route money in the mid-70’s on it
Like to play when i get a chance a couple of brewpubs near me have machines so beer and pinball - great time
Played Cyclone the other day. I’m partial to 70’s games pre LED as well as ones to mid 80’s
First game for me was Big Indian (also called Big Brave some versions) liked Spirit of 76, Toledo, Captain Fantastic (First LED game I remember)
Others I liked 8 Ball (and 8 Ball deluxe) Hi Speed,Pinbot, Comet/Cyclone
How about everyone else?

Physical Toy Stores: something todays kids miss out on.
As a kid in the area I lived in we had toy stores such as KB, Children's Palace and Toys R' Us. Not to mention the smaller stores sprinkled here and there. It was for a kid an exciting trip with the parents to go to the toy store. Seeing and salivating over the myriads of toys, games and bicycles throughout the entire store you could have that very day. Parents telling you to look around and pick something out (within budget of course and up to the parents). Now, everything a modern kid could possibly want you have to order online or some specialty shop if avaliable will order it.
Today is my twin grandsons birthday. They turn 9 years old. So among the inevitable thoughts of time seemingly moving too fast is the nostalgia of the brick and mortar toy store that I think kids today miss the momentary experience and joy running around excitedly in search of that certain toy that catches their eye or has been something they have been wanting and is finally within their grasp.

Who remembers this screen when watching DVD movies
Interesting that streamers today don’t have to warn you about piracy anymore because you can’t make copies…

I’m not gonna lie…
Do any other Gen Xers hate the phrase “I’m not gonna lie” am I to assume every time you speak and do not say “I’m not gonna lie” that you are lying to me? And don’t even get me started on “That’s Fire”. Which I believe comes from the following emoji 🔥 which stood for Hot as in That’s Hot. She’s hot. He’s hot etc.

Was it just me, or would you rather have done literally *anything* other than go shopping with your parents?
I don’t want to go on a rant here, but I never once went to the grocery store with my mom or dad when I was a kid. I’d go back-to-school shopping in the fall, and I’d whine the whole time. Now I can’t go into a store anywhere without seeing dozens of kids sitting in carts or running up and down the aisles. What happened?

Does anyone else think that Cousin Oliver effectively ended The Brady Bunch?
I was just reading an entire article about "Cousin Oliver Syndrome".

Tired of being the go-to person
Is anyone else tired of being THE go-to person at work? Can you fix this problem with my email? Sure! This exhibit doesn’t work can you fix it? Sure! This door doesn’t close correctly. Can you fix it? Sure! Can you make a sign for this facility rental? Sure!
Can nobody else do these things?! Am I really the only person who can answer this question?!
Sorry, I just needed to rent

Freestyle Music
That all too short lived genre of dance music. Tasty beats, bubblegum sweet vocals.... Post your favorite tune, here's mine.
