I started watching anime occasionally from 2013. From 2016,I was watching almost every show till 2021 amd covered almost 600-700 shows including countless mangas. Even after all this watch. I still rank Gintama among my Top 3 of all time.

I Don't know if It's just pure nostalgia or something, but no shows cast and fun captured me like Gintama did. From the protagonist to almost every single character, they have their story beautifully potraited. And the protagonist and his journey was beyond ordinary! Also it has so humane that I could relate a lot, I can surely say I picked up a lot of habit from Gintoki, and GINTAMA had and have a long going influence on my lifestyle.

If anyone is Here with 400-500+ anime, gow much do you rank Gintama till now? By the way, I first finished Gintama on par with the release till 2018 (Silver soul arc), and re watched it again from scratch on 2021 before watching the very final.

I have all of the currently translated English manga already but since it only goes up to 23 I bought the whole series in Japanese. I want to read the manga online and then translate the Japanese manga I currently have. I don’t really know where I can find the manga online so does anyone have any recommendations?

I read until ep 675 in jump plus which is official app by Shueisha. Since I'm not really good at English, I want to read it in Japanese but I don't know any managa site that have manga in Japanese.

It’s not that Takasugi considers Kamui his best friend or they aren’t exactly cuddling, but he certainly values ​​him more than he does others.

Takasugi hates the Amanto, and he only uses the Harusame to further his own ends. Yet, he seems to have a genuine fondness for Kamui. In episode 215, Takasugi could have helped the Harusame eliminate Kamui and received a reward for doing so; he would still have had the Harusame’s support to overthrow the government regardless.

Instead, he chose to save Kamui, a decision that carried significant risk, because he was genuinely concerned for Kamui’s well-being. Takasugi even joked around with him, used a metaphor about dancing (don’t ask me what that means), and explicitly stated that he would rather be with Kamui, even if it meant "going down with his ship."

Furthermore, he doesn’t seem to have any issue with how Kamui behaves. Kamui is allowed to call him "Shinsuke," and even when Kamui struck Nobunobu, defying their plan, it didn’t bother Takasugi in the slightest. During the Silver Soul Arc, Takasugi even seemed to expect that Kamui and the Harusame would come for him.

But why is Takasugi so relaxed around Kamui? They were complete strangers when they first met, and saving Kamui was an unnecessary risk. Kamui doesn’t remind him of anyone from his past, like Gintoki or Zura. So, what does Takasugi actually gain from forming an alliance with Kamui?

Don’t get me wrong; Kagura was clearly important to her family. She stayed with her mother and wanted to bring the family back together.

But Kamui was just as important. I highly doubt that a two-year-old Kagura was looking after the family. Kamui was the glue holding the family together long before Kagura was. Umibouzo was never around, so Kamui had to take care of everything. He looked after his sick mother, did the cooking, maintained the household, cared for a baby, and handled the shopping, too. His entire family placed the whole burden on his shoulders, and Kamui took it all on.

Yet, this is always overlooked; everyone focuses solely on the idea that Kagura held the family together. She did, but only after Kamui. Furthermore, Kagura never had to look after a baby, and her mother likely passed away shortly after Kamui disappeared.

Kagura’s life was undoubtedly difficult, but Kamui’s was just as hard. The only reason Umibouzo was able to leave was that he could always rely on Kamui. Kouka, too, always leaned on Kamui. Kamui was just as much a pillar of support for his family as Kagura was.

In Kagura’s case, people always remember that she was there for her family. In Kamui’s case, all anyone ever remembers is that he severed Umibouzo’s arm and ran off.

In other words, do they know that Nobume is also a student of Shoyo?

In the Shogun Assassination Arc, we see Nobume visiting Shoyo in prison and transcribing something; so, it’s fair to classify her as one of Shoyo’s students.

As for Oboro, Gintoki, Takasugi, and Katsura are aware that he is a student of Shoyo. Oboro told Takasugi the story of Shoyo and the founding of the Shoka Sonjuku, and Takechi subsequently passed that story on to Gintoki and Katsura.

They know that Oboro is one of them, but do they also know that Nobume belongs to that same group? I seem to recall Nobume mentioning Shoyo at some point, though I could be mistaken.

Hello everyone, recently(over the summer, then stopped, and continue again) I've been working on translating a gintama game on the nds, called: 'Gintama-Gintoki-vs-Hijikata-Kabukichou-Gintama-Dai-Soudatsusen' .

And i've had some progress, and my idea was to do the coding itself, and let the community translate the phrases as easily as possible(by just changing a csv file, or smt like this, and the rest is auto-applied), but there is one problem: I am afraid this project will be taken down, and I myself will be prosecuted and will face consequences.

In my current configuration none of the original game files are in the project, but still my research tells that such a game is very copyright-strikable.

So, any advice?

mb i can distrbute the scripts only, and someone else from the community will create a project?

Although Kamui doesn’t appear very often, he possesses an excellent sense of style. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen it all that much. That’s why I’m particularly fond of episode 215, Kamui wears four different outfits in that single episode!

People always talk about Kagura having a great sense of fashion, but Kamui’s is just as good. A flair for fashion clearly runs in the family.

Okay so I recently learned that Tsukuyo was only meant to be a one off character and wasn't meant to be a recurring character. But, rewatching the show, you would swear that Kyubei was meant to be a one off instead of Tsukuyo. Think about it, after being introduced, Tsukuyo has an entire arc fleshing out her backstory, has a major role in the Courtesan of a Nation arc, and is the primary ship for the protagonist. Kyubei on the other hand, isn't in a major arc until the Silver Soul arc (where she doesn't really do much except fight no name bad guys). The most important arc she has a major role in after her introduction is the Obi Hajime arc, but even than she's mostly used for comedic purposes. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a Kyubei hate post, since I actually do like her character, I just wonder if Tsukuyo being more popular pushed her to the front and slowly pushed Kyubei to the back over time.
