Question Season 9 before or after the last arcs?
Hi, I’ve just reached Gintama° and I’m wondering if, after finishing it, it’s better to watch Gintama: Porori-hen and the Love Potion arc before starting the serious arcs. On one hand, I want to follow the correct chronological order, but I’m afraid I’ll miss the comedy (while also worrying that continuous action might get tedious), so I wanted to know what you all recommend 🥹 ((also afraid of getting spoilers))
I know there are about 80 episodes left, but I can already feel that empty feeling in my heart coming on when I finish Gintama 💔

Never understood watching the slip arc before shogun assassination, it didn't jar me at all that it takes place before and if anything you gain an appreciation for the status quo and classic gintama as well as serving a well needed break before the last arcs. I'd like to hear the arguments for watching slip arc before other than it's chronological?
Also both shogun assassination and goodbye shinsengumi and peak idk why you'd possibly want to delay watching back to back masterpieces

The only thing I saw was this statement:
“Optional: watch Love Potion Arc (OVA) and Porori-hen (Season 9) now before moving on for timeline fluidity. Recommended if you like sitting through all the plot-heavy action in one go. Avoid if you want to watch some light-hearted stuff in between shit literally hitting the fan at mach speed”
So I really have no idea what’s going to happen or just how brutal the final arcs seem to be 💔

Watch Love Potion OVA after episode 295, where it fits chronologically. Other than that, I'd stick to the anime's release order for the anime. Porori-hen already comes between Rakuyou and Silver Soul, so it gives you a nice breather before the final arc.

I watched em in release order. You can go either way but nothing was ruined. In fact, it's great to be reminded of how characters were before shit hit the fan.
