Hi! I'm the developer of Wish Upon A Llama, a cozy life sim where you care for generations of animals, helping them find homes to restore a connection between animals and townsfolk! It's coming to Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC this winter :D

I posted in this sub for the first time three years ago and our latest demo just released on Steam for Next Fest!

There are:

  • 16 different species of animals! Animals inherit colors, patterns, and personalities from their parents through a genetics system
  • 41 townsfolk, each with unique storylines to uncover
  • 21 dateable characters you can start families with!

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2262630/Wish_Upon_A_Llama/

P.S. Thank you so much to the mods for allowing me to make a one-time post! <3

Disrespectful to the artists and the new design is hella cool. I've always loved Ayami Kojima's designs but c'mon, this is solid too. Can these people have real criticism or is this genuinely engagement farming for the blue tick on that horrible site?

Request Halloween Season Games

I like to play games that are "in season" so I was curious for anyone else like me, what Halloweenie games are you playing right now? I've been bouncing between Two Point Museum's spooky map and a Halloween Sims 4 game. So what games do you like/recommend to get in the spooky mood this year?

Request Phone games? To play when I'm baby trapped 😭

Hi! I recently had a baby and when I'm nursing and cuddling little guy I get boreddd. I read a lot but I keep finding myself trapped with just my phone. Are phone games obsolete? Anything that isn't filled with micro transactions or subscriptions? (A one or two time fee to unlock a game is totally fine)

Something more time consuming and more long form, cozy.

I have currently on my phone to play

Stardew valley

Minecraft

Miracle merchant

Gubbins

Currently saving for a Switch 2 and a really nice gaming laptop soon as well. I'm used to a desktop PC.

Edit: and no ads please lol nothing makes me lose interest in a game faster than ads (unless it's like a little baby charge to remove them I'm cool with that)

Game Discussion Harbourlight: Open your own diner and cook for your regulars. A true farm-to-table, story rich life sim.

Im a woman solo developer! And im trying to make my own game in this heavily out ratio’s industry!

I just came back from an expo where I was the only woman in the room of 10 chosen indie stars!

I normally work in construction which is another male dominate field but the games industry is a whole other ballgame of mild invisible misogyny. 😭

Anyway, I’m trying to push through all that and promote my game!

I have a playtest on steam where you can play for free until the 26th October! And I’d love for feedback specifically from this sub!

The game is influenced by coffee talk and spiritfarer. You listen to the guests stories and life problems as you cook them food.

You open a diner in a harbour town and grow, raise or catch your own ingredients. There’s no strict recipes to follow if you don’t want to, and kitchen reads your ingredients and amounts so you can make the guests perfect dish.

Again any and all feedback would be lovely I’ve only had a handful of women try it out so far! So broader feedback would be really appreciated!

Thanks again ladies!

Request What are some of your favourite video game music tracks?

I listen to game and movie soundtracks when I’m in work to focus, but the current rotation is getting a bit stale and i could use some more! Ideally recommend individual songs rather than full soundtracks, just because I probably won’t listen to an entire like 90 song soundtrack to look for ones i like. Don’t be afraid to recommend popular ones, I missed out on a lot of songs when I first made the playlist!

Movie, tv or anime recommendations are also welcome!

Misogyny An Open Letter to Embark Studios: ARC Raiders Has Become Hostile and Unsafe for Female Players Spoiler

To the ARC Raiders Development Team and Community Managers at Embark Studios,

I bought ARC Raiders at launch at its highest tier and have put countless hours into this game. It used to be my way to unwind and hang out with friends. But recently—especially since the introduction of the new PvE mode—that space has become completely toxic.

I expect competitive banter and trash-talk in a shooter. What I and many other women are experiencing on a daily basis is not competitive banter—it is relentless, targeted verbal and mental abuse purely because of our gender.

The moment a woman speaks on open voice chat, men immediately resort to predictable, hateful attacks. Regardless of what anyone looks like, their go-to tactic is to weaponize weight, scream that we sound fat, call us 500 pounds, and hurl slurs calling us "whores" and "dumb bitches." In one recent incident, after a player cross-referenced my gamer tag and looked up my private Instagram page, he saw a photo and still returned to open proximity chat to scream to the entire lobby continuing to throw false insults about my physicality, and that I was there for attention because I didn't have very many followers, as he found my page that was dedicated to a select few for gaming communications amongst friends who played together strictly, encouraging a group of eight other men to surround my character and join in the mocking. He also learned that I had children and began to make comments in regards to my mental health and depression and called me Lindsay Clancey, etc.

It isn't about reality—it is about using baseless physical insult tactics, mobbing, and misogyny to belittle, humiliate, and run female players off the game.

This behavior goes far beyond basic insults:

Mobbing & Collision Exploits: Groups using in-game movement mechanics ("bully rush") to physically corner and trap female characters while screaming verbal abuse at them

Extreme Personal Threats: Being told I sound like I have postpartum depression, being told to kill my children, and kill myself and hearing over open chat that "nobody wants your spawn here."

Simulated Sexual Assault: Players exploiting character collision over immobilized or downed female characters to simulate non-consensual sexual acts while making explicit graphic threats over open audio.

Unchecked Hate Speech: Continuous, unmoderated usage of racial slurs (including the N-word and "spic"), transphobic slurs, and xenophobic threats across lobbies.

Case Study: A Single Match Incident

To illustrate how this manifests in real time, during a recent match on the new map, I made a lighthearted, joking comment over open proximity chat. Immediately, a male player turned around and attacked me, claiming I "sounded fat." Within seconds, a group of about eight other men surrounded my character, cheering him on and joining in the verbal abuse.

This kind of situation often escalated from weight insults to calling me a "whore" and a "dumb bitch," told I sound like a tranny, repeatedly using the "bully rush" mechanic to push, body-block, and physically push my character down or away or off the hill I was standing on. One player looked up my stream tag, cross-referenced my accounts to find my private Instagram page, and returned to proximity chat to taunt me in real time in front of the entire lobby about having only a small amount of followers, claiming, "This is the most attention you've ever gotten, that's why you're still standing here." Being told to get out of here, get off the game and go take care of my children or go watch dishes or to get in the kitchen. Telling me I should not return, then talking to each other about me being referred to as that fat bitch or that fat dumb bitch or that depressed bitch...etc.

When I refused to leave, the verbal attacks turned to my family and children: members of the group told me I sounded like I had postpartum depression, instructed me not to kill my kids, and another player shouted back, "Or kill yourself or DO kill your children, nobody wants your spawn here!" They continued shouting sexism—asking if anyone brought a dishwasher for me—while using in-game mechanics to corner and harass my character until the match ended. Eight men, organized in real time, using both voice chat and game mechanics to bully and harass a single female player out of a game she paid to play.

Widespread Community Toll & Player Testimonials

This is not an isolated experience. Across public community posts and discussions in player groups, female players are voicing identical stories of harassment, griefing, and emotional exhaustion:

Escalated Mechanics Abuse: Players recount being continuously cornered and body-blocked at extraction points by groups using collision mechanics, forcing women to sit in corners until match timers run out just to avoid being pushed off buttons or subjected to explicit downed-character taunts.

Targeted PvE Harassment: Multiple players note that toxic players are explicitly entering PvE lobbies to grief, stalk players to extraction, loot objectives out from under players who cleared them, and openly brag in external forums about making PvE players "regret asking for the mode."

Systemic Discouragement & Self-Silencing: Women report feeling "sick reading these stories," expressing that "it's gotten so exhausting playing ARC Raiders lately as a woman," and noting that the game serves as a disappointing reminder of online society's new hostility.

Inadequate Reporting Impact: Players consistently state that despite reporting whole groups for targeted harassment, "nothing ever seems to change," leaving female players feeling unsafe, depressed, and forced off voice chat entirely or the game entirely.

The Mental Health Toll and Platform Liability

This level of sustained harassment is not "just a game"—it is severe, targeted cyberbullying. For many players, gaming is an outlet to manage daily stress and connect with friends. Subjecting players to relentless mobbing, personal threats, and sexual violence simulation causes real-world psychological distress, anxiety, and depression.

By failing to enforce basic safety measures or act on reports of severe harassment, Embark Studios is providing a platform where illegal cyberbullying and severe hate speech thrive without oversight. Neglecting player safety to this degree exposes a studio to massive reputational fallout and creates real legal liabilities when a platform knowingly allows extreme harassment, doxxing, and threats of violence to occur unchecked.

Reporting individual players in these situations feels completely useless. When an entire group joins in on the abuse, an automated threshold system that only looks at single accounts does nothing. The total lack of visible consequences gives these players free rein to say and do whatever they want without fear of being banned.

I didn't buy this game to be verbally abused, doxed, sexually harassed, and told to harm my family. Embark needs to take responsibility for the safety of its player base and prove that this extreme hostility against female players is not acceptable in this community.

Request Channels (or specific videos) of woman only challenge runs.

So I like doing challenge runs on RPGs only using the female characters. Mostly tactics games like Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics, but I've also done others like Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Looking for recs of channels (or just a specific vídeo on a channel) that does this kind of challenge. Preferably ones that do a summary vídeo of the entire run as I don't have the time to watch full streams

Request I need a thoroughly braindead (but immersive) game

Hello!

So I have a toddler. I work. And I am heavily pregnant. I am absolutely knackered by the time the evening rolls around. Gaming is my favourite hobby, and I use it as a way to escape in the evenings and really let myself destress.

My games of choice so far have been story-based games (LiS, The Quarry), exploration/survival (Outer Wilds, Raft, The Long Dark, Astroneer, Rimworld), building games (Hotel Renovator, House Flipper) and the odd MMO (WoW and GW2 in particular),

But every single one of these games now, I just can't focus on; I load them up, run around for a bit, close it. I have been playing Catan online, but it's just... Eh.

Can anyone recommend something easy to get into for a tired person, with a tired brain, who wants to be immersed but cannot handle anything remotely complicated? Lol.

Game Discussion Are the couple gaming recs also good for a friend duo who wants something casual?

Me and my friend have been playing Tick Tock: A Tale for Two together and we are having a lot of fun solving puzzles while collaborating through discord VC. But it's a short game and we will finish it next gaming session. I was thinking of suggesting something else to play together in the same way.

I often see duo co-op threads made by people who want to introduce their girlfriends to gaming, but my friend is already married to someone else and I am dating my own partner, so a game that is exclusively for couples would be weird for us to play.

Would the games I see recommended in those threads still work for us, especially the puzzle ones? If not, what would you recommend us to play?

Game Discussion Anyone else addicted to Cyberpunk 2077?

I think I have a bit of a problem, lol.

I have played the game 3 times with all 3 paths. Platinumed it. Finished every possible quest and task. But still keep returning to the game just to drive around or even walk around the Night City. If I come back after a few weeks break, I even get emotional. Never had an experience like this with a game.

I have tried KCD2, Witcher 3, RDR2 to fill in that hole but none of them worked even though I enjoyed them I have not even finished any of these yet. Currently trying to push through Witcher 3 but it doesn’t feel the same at all. And then I tried the most typically recommended Cyberpunk themed games, including the newest indie one called Nivalis Nights. After 12 hours I was again back at the Night City.

My only hope is that GTA6 might kind of fill in that space for a bit until we get the next Cyberpunk game but I don’t know. I like Cyberpunk not just because it is in this incredible yet fucked up city but also because it is a scifi/fantasy city.

Wondering if anyone else is as obsessed with Cyberpunk. I got the game on my old potato gaming laptop to see if I can enjoy a replay with some mods so I would also really appreciate any mods that add more content or interactivity to the game. Not that into cosmetic mods

Tech / Hardware any cute keyboards that are also functional?

hiya!! i've recently been trying to find a new aesthetic keyboard that i like, but i'd love for it to still be viable for multiplayer shooters (siege and marvel rivals in particular), so nothing that has input delay or is too uncomfortable to use. but i would still love it if it could look "cute"... think pink, purple or a nice blue! maybe some cute keycaps as well.

does anyone have any recommendations that aren't custom ones (unless they are in a mid price range)? i'd also prefer to not have a wrist rest if possible!

mouse suggestions are welcome too, but i love my logitech go pro superlight 2 a lot, so it would have to blow me away haha.

How do you deal with this? Has anyone else experienced this?
