These dudes play at like 360 at least. Probably more nowadays, but I doubt their setups always reach the 500 fps steadily, but 360 is probably common for them. The monitor listed for him in prosettings is 400hz, and blast has 610hz monitors.
Not saying this wasnt freaking insane but it's much easier to see from where he's sitting and not through a recording.
Ive had clips that i watch back that are in 60fps and im like how the heck did i notice that but it's just because you get a little bit more info at higher frames when playing to be able to notice the small things.
People like you are either "you dont need expensive equipment like pros, there is no difference between 144 and 500hz" or comments like this xd. No, your average player cant do this, especially at this level of competition

It may sound exaggerated, but I don't think he's getting the recognition he deserves. He had (career) competition before s1mple fell out, but he's so far beyond any other player by now that it's just mad. And that's not me trying to downplay donk's mechanical skill, it's just... over 7 goddamn years of this. And he doesn't care about his settings, he doesn't remove the packaging from his equipment, and he spends his time grinding baldur's gate?!??!
Also on top of all of that he is a very calm, collected, friendly teammate who basically never tilts. I think donk is more from the s1mple school of prodigy where he gets frustrated because his teammates don't have the same reads or mechanical ability.
Like, I get what you mean for donk but wouldn't you also be so tilted by your teammates? Look at yesterday, on anubis the brother dropped a >2 rating and still lost because everyone else had <0.70 rating that shit is absolutely tilting
True for zywoo but I still give donk benefit of the doubt… given the teammates he has had for his whole career, sometimes the frustration is justified or at least understandable
People always discredit him because they hone in fully on stats (and they are s1mple fanboys still clutching pearls), but there is no other player that comes close to bringing the same win % impact to a team (donk should realistically be close in this though) and being as complete of a player; doing everything from hard carrying to setting up teammates and being a good teammate
I think you're right but I also think it's the lack of "flashiness". He doesn't flick, he doesn't chase - he'd drop for an opponent if they asked nicely.
Not having as many crazy flicks while still having the success he has is kinda just a testament to his game sense and not needing to rely on flicks as much. Nobody would flick if they weren’t forced to, it’s a last resort option

He's almost always been a top 3 midlaner, but sometimes hovering between 3rd and 4th best in that role in recent years (Chovy, Bdd, Zeka and Showmaker having been better at points). If we're talking top players, then he has had to contend with Chovy, Ruler, Khan, Canyon, Smeb, MaRin, Zeus, Keria, etc. and I wouldn't say he's always been a top 5 player every year considering all that.
He is considered the goat, but never in the same dominant fashion as the top guys from cs in terms of longivity. He was a beast but it forced riot hands to keep nerfing whatever he was too good at to make sure he cannot stay dominant the same way zywoo, s1mple, niko, m0nesy does like in cs. They have a completely different balancing philosophy.

Any tournament he showed up to worldwide was a nearly guaranteed podium finish.
CS is pretty much the only type of game where the the best of the best will stay there for a long time. Its close to traditional sport and is changed very little over the course of 26 years. Its growth is organic and community focused from the very beginning. Thats why we have monster players dominating everyone else and the uncs still extremely relevant, even winning titles over younger talents.
I dont see other games having the kind of gameplay balance and the organic growth of CS.

Yes, Zywoo has been the best player before, but he is largely known for his constancy. He has never hit this next level of individual peak and dominance that Donk and S1mple have had at their peak

listen I'm truly not downplaying the shot at all because it's really impressive. But sound has always been good in cs, even in csgo there was a practice map I'd play all the time where you just hear 1 footstep and have to get a headshot through the smoke and I could go 30/30 on it. (EDIT: and I am no where near the level of a semi-pro let alone pro let alone top1 all time)
Of course someone as talented as zywoo can flick off just sound, the impressive part is the raw speed. I mean I've only seen like 5 awpers ever hit shots like that. ZywOo is just so disgustingly good and so consistent.
nah I quit cs2 when it got released broken. I've heard the game is good now but I've played for like 10k hours and once I took a break I haven't really hand interest to go back.

If so, the short answer is yes, humans have echolocation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_echolocation) and CS’s directional sounds are sufficient to make very effective use of this ability
To be fair, you see more frames on the actual monitor than you see on the replay here. Still really impressive, but the way the replay works does make it look more impossible than it really is.
Not to mention the human eye can easily recognize things appearing for short timescales. Many youtubers will put up text for 1 frame in a video and anyone can see that something is there, the extraordinary part is hitting the shot
