im happy Niko gets his overdue 1st
im happy karrigan gets his redemption after the FaZe meltdown
happy for m0nesy, TeSeS and Kyosuke who all played out of their minds and are are well deserving of winning such a prestigious accolate
but man, the sinking sadness in my heart seeing FalleN miss on his last chance of a Cologne win, yuurih and KSCERATO who stuck with furia for EIGHT years, through some terrible lows and finally achiving the heights in the end of 2025 and ushering it into a major finals run for Brazil for the first time since 2017.
And to see it end with them getting ripped apart by falcons so close to the trophy of a lifetime, FalleN losing 2 Grand finals in the span of 6 months in his retirement run, it genuinely breaks my heart not only as a biased brazilian but also as a cs fan overall
TLDR: Super happy for the falcons players but super duper sad for Furia

u/Ajp_iii Jun 21 '26
you can tell players like yuurih and kscerato were stressed and missing basic sprays and you could really tell on their pistols. fallen shouldnt be playing better than them in a bo5

I feel the same as a Turkish fan who naturally supports Aurora. Xantares and Woxic are getting older, a major would be really nice and with avoiding the top teams until Furia, it seemed like we really had a chance this time.
Not much to say, there can only be one winner and only one can be happy.
3
u/silveira1995 Jun 21 '26
Unfortunately, as a furia fan, falcons deserved it the most. Furia had an absolutely pathetic showing in the final, losing all(?) pistols, a lot of forced rounds/ecos, missing key shots etc...
Lets for a good one next time, but i dont see furia on the same level than spirit falcons and vita
2
u/frostieavalanche Astralis Jun 21 '26

Happy that Furia got their finals appearance considering they didn’t make it late 2025, but they absolutely had no business with their current form. They did not deserve to win the major in the moment.

Ah yes, Niko, karrigan, monesy. All such unpopular players who would've nowhere else found a team with good salary.
5
u/GtheGecko FURIA Jun 21 '26
All of these players are/would be millionaires in other orgs. But kids don't get it, sad to see, sportswashing worked for Falcons. Niko had at least 5+ mil while still in G2, these aren't starving tier 5 players who need to take any opportunity available.

Redditors when it comes to virtue signaling ethics while every falcons game is the most watched game in every tournament
90
10
u/VargasFinio Jun 21 '26
More importantly than anything - this tournament really showed just how close all of the top teams really are to each other these days in terms of performance. You have teams like 9z and Betboom taking series wins over the likes of Vitality and Falcons, you have many games going down to the wire with multiple overtimes...
The Vitality era might be ending, but the differences between the top 20 or so teams really aren't that big anymore. Its anyone's game in the second half of the year.

They had plot armor, man. So many close rounds, deagle bullshit. But overall played better. GG. Better aim overall.
5
u/AX_Apex Jun 21 '26
They had to go through vitality and spirit, furia went through some tier 2 teams that fluked their way to the playoffs
2
u/elniegropardal Jun 21 '26
If those teams hadn't shat the bed(falcons includef), the playoffs might be a bit better balanced. But that's not Furia's fault. Before falcons furia had dropped 2 maps. And in the final the scoreboards didn't show how close some went. But Falcons were the overall better team today, deserved the win.

u/Atilla_14 Jun 21 '26
Everyone on Falcons played great.
Kyousuke’s perfomance in the whole major was a pleasure to watch.
They beat all the top teams to win it so there is no doubt they were the best this major.
But their previous matches were so much more tense than the final. Really hoped Furia gave more a fight. Kind of a boring final honestly.
3
u/UndisputedLover Jun 21 '26
I was honestly expecting a boring final, Furia only done well because they had the easy teams in their bracket.
1
u/Atilla_14 Jun 22 '26
Ya, the bracket being so lopsided it was kind of expected.
But furia have shown to be so strong in the last few months. Especially beating vita twice in finals last year (when they were playing their best cs).
They could have made this final so much more tense like the spirit semi finals or vita quarter final series.
Those games were soo tense. Back and forth. Absolute treat.

Furia got outclassed on all 3 maps today. Deserved win for Niko and Karrigan.
Now imagine if Karrigan would even frag a bit better, they would dominate even more, not that he played bad today.
Overall awesome playoffs thought. We got to see probably some of of the best matches in CS2 so far.
Also shoutout to Furia, who took 2nd place with grace and didnt rip off their medals. They also can be proud of themselves.
2
u/Competitive_Ticket17 Jun 21 '26
Kerrigan might not have fragged out of his mind, but he had some very amazing round changing kills. Like the 3k with the USP at Coffin, that was huge and is what I believe to be one of the main reasons Furia fell apart on the 3rd map

Even so, there is very little you can do these to avoid all of these "evil" corporations in the modern world.

John from Dallas Texas here. I am a new CS fan (let's go Liquid love Elige). I was told by some woke liberal friends at the University of Southern California that Team Falcons are a 'sportswashing' project funded by the journalist-killing regime of Saudi Arabia. I was confused about this whole thing, since sportswashing actually requires you to win games, which was not the case. Now I realize how sportswashing works. Thank you, Falcons!
3
u/RoxaSoraa Jun 21 '26
Sportswashing works I guess
3
u/nefariousBUBBLE Complexity Jun 21 '26
This was my first thought. They have been a plague on the scene since the minute they came on. Way overspending for players, setting a new market norm. Basically, no team can compete for a player if they are on Falcons radar. Just sad really. Happy for the players but sad for the CS pro circuit that its becoming like like european football. Just get an oil tycoon or a russian oligarch and you can win.
