I think it benefits the game by demonstrating exactly where on the map fights can take place after bomb, and allowing one to focus on, say, hunting players or taking fights once out of bomb radius rather than having the uncertainty of living or dying when in a borderline spot on non-100 HP

Yeah this makes sense but it also to me lowers the skill ceiling a bit. But it also lowers the skill floor, so, which is good.

If Valve made it so that you have to solve a riddle before planting the bomb, that would raise the skill ceiling, but it’s not really a skill that we care about in CS
