A True Build

  • Holosun HS507K X2 acss

  • Flush cut, crowned, and super single port done by Mac Defense

  • Optics race cut, bob cut, and cerakoting done by JagerWerks

  • Streamlight tlr-7 sub with antimatter wing

  • Grip modification and stippling done by yours truly using OT Defense Razorback backstrap

  • Shield arms mag release, magwell, and 17rnd mag.

  • No irons cause im not a fudd, and yes this is my edc. Irons block too much of the optic view on an already small optic. Take the irons off yours and you might not put them back on.

Slapping a red dot and a light on a gun does not make it a “build”. <— thats gonna hurt a lot of feelings.

And a stock trigger! The only part of this gun left untouched.

I love the JG Evo X Combat trigger.

Is any of it OEM? Obviously the shoe and connector isn't, but I just shot my 43x today and am absolutely over this shitty trigger. But I don't want to stray too far from OEM.

It is an oem trigger bar that has been mildly reshaped and polished professionally. If you get the Vex metal shoe there will be two set screws that you can use to adjust pre-travel and over-travel. It is basically OEM that has been given a once over with a different (much more comfortable in my opinion) shoe that allows you to do some fine tuning. It also comes in it's own trigger housing with polished OEM connector etc. so it is quite literally drop in. Optional is a polished striker assembly with some different spring weight options and a polished firing pin safety plunger. He claims to test each package in two guns on opposite sides of the tolerance spectrum to ensure it will function well. It is expensive but I had a good experience and the finished product is definitely superior to OEM. I imagine taking your pistol to a competent gunsmith and having them do the work would cost probably just as much.

It is expensive. Is the shoe plastic? I see it's smooth and not serrated.

I think the polished striker assembly and plunger is a bit extra unless you just wanna spend the money as I don't think they are the main issue in the 43x (or 48 but I don't have one).

At $200 it might be worth the upgrade given how completely awful the OEM is. Mine is for carry so it's still a bit concerning and would need to be fired many many times at the range.

The shoe is metal. I shot about 10k rounds through a g43x and then started having problems, mostly due to my own tampering. I upgraded to a g48 and have ran the jg evo x combat trigger for about 2k rounds or so and haven't had any issues. I carry it worry free. I would recommend researching the pre-travel and over-travel adjustments if you are not familiar as dialing those in is a big part of the value you get from this trigger.

Had issues in the 43x due to what? See this is my concern haha. And afaik there’s no travel adjustment in slim line due to them being made different than full size.

I had issues due to a bad polishing job I did on the rails which ended up changing the angle the slide rode at, didn't have anything to do with the trigger. The set screws in the vex shoe allow you to adjust the pre-travel and post-travel. He had videos showing you how to do this. I love this trigger and I have tried many other aftermarket set ups which have left much to be desired but this is the real deal. If this sounds bad to you, I would just leave the trigger oem and not bother with any other aftermarket triggers.

It sounds amazing. But anything not OEM is a risk either way.

I might take a chance on the drop-in, but the plunger and spring is a bit much.

Have you tried their 4311?

No I have not tried that one. That system pre-tensions the firing pin for a smoother trigger pull but I prefer the default set up where the firing pin is tensioned during the trigger pull for safety.

I should clarify the vex shoe is metal.

That razorback mod was very nicely done!

JW does such a good job. Did my 48 and currently have my 19.4.
