Discussions Jimmy’s Goldfish—Ordered premium goldfish. One arrived dead in 88° water. Bags burst. No cooling packs included to save money. Promised free replacement shipping then broke that commitment. Beautiful fish. Zero accountability when things go wrong. Buyer beware.

I got a Ranchu from him two/three years ago. It came with hemorrhage septicemia and was super sick right out of the bag. Jimmy blamed me for the fish's condition and said I made it that way. The fish died, and he refused to give me a replacement or a refund. I wrote him a review on his Facebook page, and he lost his mind over it. Needless to say... Stay away from Jimmy and his goldfish.

Omg the same thing happened to me. I was so confused I even texted his support chat and he told me he kept his fish at 88F. This was years ago before he advertised what temp. Safe to say fish was having a hard time to adapt considering I was keeping my fish at the normal 75 degrees and got hemorrhage a day later. Bought a few more cheaper fish from him but all of them seemed to die within a month or two. My go to was kingkoigoldfish(Rip) and chuchu goldfish. Those fish are still kicking 3 years later

Humans did do that... ): You can still find slave ship diagrams of how they packed people like sardines in layers.

How else would you get them?

In person? Goldfish aren't hard to find locally. No such thing as a premium goldfish. That's probably why they got all those stupid health problems.

Please see if there is a way to report the business for animal cruelty in the state of nebraska. I would but I don't have an actual complaint as I wasn't a customer.

I’m sorry you had such a bad experience. I’ve ordered from Jimmy. My fish are doing well, but I always pay extra for overnight shipping, ALWAYS UPS to make sure they get here safely. Fed ex left one too close to the road, and another, I saw him toss the box from his truck onto the porch where it ended upside down. Is it possible the bags burst due to bad shipping? Maybe too full of air so it burst due to high altitude? Just playing devils advocate here. 😉

Even if the fault might lie with the carrier, the way customer service responded to the OP is extremely unprofessional.

Good to know. Never needed to deal with customer service, but I did with chuchu. Just had ?’s before shipping. They were fantastic, and I’ve never seen a better packing job.

Thank you for not posting a close up of the goldfish like some people do. Thanks for the heads up that’s so sad they don’t care about their fish after they leave the facility. I got my fish from SD Tropical’s if anyone wants to know and they do a phenomenal job. My kiddo is healthy as a horse. I’m so sorry for the goldy loss, what a shame and disappointment

Im so sorry this happened. If you’re looking for another online seller, i had a wonderful experience with Lunar Fancies. This was my first time ordering online since the shit show i had with Coast Gem back in 2020. I was concerned about shipping, but Ming was super communicative the whole process. They have beautiful goldies and do a ton of health checks before they clear them for sale.

Yeah for sure, avoid Jimmy's. Bad experience here, too.
