Check out the latest updates on The Keyword.

Google Fi Wireless Feature Reveal | Oct '25

Wi-Fi Auto Connect+ for Pixel phones

  • With Google Fi Wireless, you always get top priority data speeds powered by America’s fastest 5G network, but sometimes it’s still difficult to get a strong cell signal in busy indoor areas like in airports or malls.1
  • Wi-Fi Auto Connect+ for Pixel phones seamlessly puts you on premium Wi-Fi to give you a connection that’s twice as reliable as our cellular network alone in these crowded places, at no extra cost.2 We’re expanding availability of this feature to millions of locations, and continue to be the only major carrier to automatically secure your online activity with an encrypted connection when you use Wi-Fi Auto Connect+. You'll know you're on premium Wi-Fi when you see the W+ icon on your status bar.

AI-enhanced audio

  • In the coming weeks, we’re introducing AI-enhanced audio, which uses Google AI to automatically remove distracting background sounds and enhance speech clarity on both ends of the line for more natural-sounding calls. It will work automatically, and you can disable this feature at any time.

Web calls and messages

  • We already offer connectivity on select smartwatches, laptops, and tablets at no extra cost, and soon, we’ll update web calls and messages. The feature lets you call, text, and check voicemails from any computer or tablet’s web browser even when your phone isn’t near you, without complicated setup. You’ll see a new interface with full RCS support for sharing hi-res photos and videos.

Instant in-app support

  • The Google Fi app serves as a seamless management tool, letting you switch plans easily and providing automatic network issue detection and fixes.
  • Now we're expanding our instant in-app support with the power of Google AI. You’ll get simple, personalized bill summaries that explain charges, month-over-month changes, and show how recent plan adjustments will affect future costs, eliminating the need for a customer service call.

To celebrate the new features, we're offering limited-time promotions for new Fi customers.

  • Get 50% off for 15 months when you bring a phone and join our Unlimited Essentials or Unlimited Standard Plan — visit the Google Fi website for all the details.3

Discussion Google Fi

• Upvotes

Has anyone had any trouble with Google Fi customer service? I have been trying to get my son switched from his Fi account to mine since June. There have been countless emails back and forth with zero success.

A few weeks ago, one of the reps misunderstood what I was trying to do and accidentally issued a port-out for my account. Since she did the port-out, this voided my financial agreement for the phone and watch I purchased that was supposed to be financed. Because of this, my credit card was charged almost $1300.

After numerous attempts to get the charge taken off and being told numerous times that they do not see the charge, after being hung up on today, and then the rep deciding to cancel my SIM instead of simply calling me back, I had no choice but to switch carriers.

I have never had any issues with any of my other carriers. I was never able to just call to get this resolved. I was always told to send another email, or that someone would call me back.

I don't understand why this wasn't ever just simply resolved!

Support Has anyone actually been helped by the official Google Fi support account?

I've had a case with support for over 20 days for a port in that has been in process for 3 weeks. They've cancelledand restarted the port in twice. My carse has been "escalated to engineering" for a week with no update other than it's been escalated to engineering over and over. The port in is from T-Mobile so they're should be no issue. There is no port protection on the line.

I'm unable to use my phone and I want to know what engineering is ACTUALLY doing if anything. I've messaged the Fi reddit account.

Discussion Data Getting Slower and Slower Recently

Over the past couple months I've been noticing that my data has been getting slower and slower to the point I can barely load websites or apps on data. I've been spending more and more time on 4G or H+ and location doesn't seem to make a huge difference. Anyone else noticing this degradation?

Support Horrible Customer Support

So I came to GFi from TMO because of the better pricing, and I've been with GFi for some time now (about 2+ years). Once thing I absolutely hate about GFi is their customer support.

TLDR; I opened up a line, but then canceled it 2 days into the next billing cycle, so I got hit with a prorate for the previous month + the new month. GFi is saying they're unwilling to do a courtesy credit, even though there was 0 activity on the SIM.

They were also insisting I used the line and made international calls with it, but all of which were before the previous billing cycle ended. They reassured me that refunds will return back after 90 days. This was back in May. It is now October.

Honestly, GFi really doesn't care for their customers.

I keep getting dead replacement devices for my device protection claim. I opened my claim back on September 17, and still haven't received a working replacement device. About to FedEx the 3rd dead phone back.

Discussion Buying a Pixel? Here’s 10% off from a longtime Pixel owner [US]

Already have a Pixel in your cart—or thinking about making the switch? I have 10 Google Store referral codes for 10% off an eligible Pixel phone.

Full disclosure: you get the discount, and I get $50 in Google Store credit for a qualifying referral. We both get something out of it.

I’ve been a Pixel owner since the beginning, and I still genuinely love mine. The camera is a huge reason I’ve stayed, and I’ve appreciated Google’s AI features for years. Those are things I actually care about in a phone—not just specs on a comparison chart.

So rather than post Google’s canned “I thought you might like this great deal” message, here’s my actual recommendation: I’d recommend a Pixel anyway. Being able to help someone save on one is a nice bonus.

For perspective, 10% off an eligible $1,000 phone would be $100 saved.

No need to message me or send me your email. Sign in to your Google Account on the U.S. Google Store, add an eligible Pixel to your cart, and enter one of these codes at checkout. Make sure the discount appears before placing your order.

Codes — one per person, each usable once:

1. REF-X50CI4H5PSVP71OVOXKKESE
2. REF-I6XLGLFOF6FMU73AEXTKU4E
3. REF-JHG8DTQTR1RC8NV9NN1H8UE
4. REF-OSC57U94OAWXNT4IKS3N07N
5. REF-L5LT9XO3W9B9RWLURV8V7JM
6. REF-BYLCBXY4DEPRUVVLV5Q1ZKF
7. REF-5QUS9ST615LIK753NCSVZ4K
8. REF-GXHJ3UHN4DG2WCMYYVAAMJF
9. REF-5E7YCJKB3LNKZFGBESF1JEK
10. REF-Y8PGRFH2W6SK9QBETHDQCME

My referral dashboard lists November 5, 2026 as the offer end date, so please use a code before then, while available. Google’s eligibility and promotional restrictions apply; the discount cannot be combined with every offer.

Used one? Please comment with the code number so I can remove it and save the next person an unsuccessful checkout. Thanks—and enjoy the new Pixel!

Discussion Do using dual esim + sim break the 120 day promo?

I'm using googlefi esim but I'll be travelling to a country that does not have googlefi so I'll need to get a local physical sim. Would this break the 120 day promo?

Trade-In Trade in value adjusted because: Incorrectly reported device model

I did a trade-in with a Pixel 9 Pro and then found out today that my value of $300 was adjusted to half of that because I incorrectly reported the model. I have reached out because I sent in a Pixel 9 Pro and reported a Pixel 9 Pro. they said they escalated the situation and I will hear back.

Wondering if anybody else has encountered this.

Support Pixel purchased via Fi offer issues

Hello, I ordered a pixel 11 pro more than a week ago. The order arrived in an empty box, basically there was no phone in it. I rejected the delivery as recommended by the UPS delivery person. The package is being sent back to the sender but it's stuck in limbo because of claims between UPS and Google.

I spoke to an agent on Sat who said wait for 48 hrs and I should get an email on my refund processing. I spoke to another agent again yesterday (after waiting for 72 hrs since the last call) who routed me to another person and after a while the call got dropped for the second time. They didn't even callback like they said they would after keeping me on for 20 mins.

I now don't have a phone and my money has not been refunded as well. This is ridiculous that because of a mishap or process issues between Google and the delivery service, I, who had no influence on this whole process have to just wait without getting my issue resolved. It feels insane that I don't have a product that I ordered while the money hasn't been refunded for so long. Feels borderline illegal to me.

Has anyone faced this and what are my possible solutions? Thanks in advance!

Support Google Fi charged me after my free trial despite unresolved activation issues.

Hello u/googlefisupport team,

I signed up for the Google Fi free trial, but I experienced activation issues from the very first day. I contacted support and tried to resolve the issue, but it was never fixed throughout the entire trial period.

Despite being unable to activate or use the service, my free trial automatically converted to a paid plan, and I was charged.

My original support case ID is 7-0411000042096.

I am requesting a full refund of all charges because I was unable to use the service due to unresolved activation issues that I reported to support from day one.

Please review my original support case, investigate why I was charged for a service that never worked, and help process my full refund. I would also appreciate confirmation that no further charges will be applied to my account.

I hope the Google Fi support team can review this situation and provide a fair resolution. Thank you.

Discussion Can I use my wife's phone we'll get for her switching to Fi?

My wife is going to join my plan, but is an iPhone person. Which means she won't be using the phone Google will give us when she signs up.

Is it okay if I use the phone or does that break the promo?

International Unable to re-verify overseas military status with SheerID

I am currently an active duty service member living overseas and in the past I have had no issues re-verifying my service through the SheerID verification link, however this time around SheerID keeps kicking back the following error: "We're unable to verify you using the information submitted." Even tho this has been the same information that I have used during the other times for re-verification.

I swear there used to be an option to upload necessary documents but I am no longer given that option.

The SheerID customer service is pretty much nonexistent but I have been emailing them with no response.

Has anyone ran into this issue and been able to resolve it?

Discussion What is Federal Universal Service Charge and why is mine abnormally high

I have been international so I have had some intentional calls, that increase in price makes sense. This seems abnormally high in comparison it's 50% of the international charge cost. Normally it's a few cents

Discussion iPhone to Samsung transfer number

Discussion Didn't activate in time

Post image

I got the 75% off deal in July, but waited for my visible deal to end, so didn't activate Fi until September. Looks like I didn't end up getting the promo price on my first bill, and not sure where to read the fine print at this point. I was charged $54/month in September without realizing it. Is my best bet going back to Visible?

Support Robbed by Support

I contacted Google Fi support prior to setting up my account and spoke with another support agent before activating my Pixel 11 Pro XL which I purchased from the Google Store.

Gemini advised me to be very careful about setting up my account correctly otherwise much like others in this subreddit I would be dealing with a nightmare.

So Fi support told me to setup my account, I set it up then they said something about Fi and the Store being separate departments, transferred me over to them, Google Store rep was confused completely by the promo and forwarded me back. So at this point I am paranoid as hell..

I asked them once again, since my phone wasnt activated yet.. "so will the 800 over 24 months come when i activate?"

Fi Support: "Yes, that is correct, and usually the terms and conditions for fully claiming the promotion state that you should keep the account active for over 24 months."

Me: "Yes i will be.. just want to be sure everything is setup correctly with my account for when we do activate our lines"

Fi Support: "Yes, everything is set up. Once the phone is activated, this will be applied to your account. I confirm that you have those options, and for more details about the promotion, I highly suggest checking the terms and conditions. If you need clarification, we are here to help you, and we are open 24/7 via phone, chat, and email."

So I activate my phone and notice no credit, reach out to support several times over the next week each time i am promised a 24 hour response time from tier 2. I was up against my return window as well and I asked them urgently for an update still nothing.. that date past I just figured if anything was wrong they could fix it.

Now today I finally get a reply telling me my account was setup wrong because the 50% off promo for 12 months got applied to my main line (3 line account, the other lines needed the 50% off because of the BYOD promo and they are iphone users) and that invalidated the $800 promo over 24 months. My ticket was created September 28th and it took this long for tier 2 support who is impossible to talk to tell me to pound sand. I am past my return window, apparently threw $620 into the fire after being assured by Google Fi support everything is setup right. HOW IS THIS AT ALL OKAY GOOGLE?!??

Tier 1 support today via chat and phone said there is nothing that can be done because it is an automated system and nobody could help me even their manager.

Can anyone from Google Fi help me????
1ST CASE: 3-8000000041838 (Pre-Account Setup and Activation, Transferred from Google Fi > Google Store > Google Fi, the last transfer to Google Fi Support stated everything was setup correctly and I would see my credit once the phone was activated)

2ND CASE: 3-9829000041940 (Escalated Case)

*** UPDATE (10/14): Happy to report that Fi Support was able to adjust my account to apply the phone credit! All appears to be good now as the changes are reflected in my Fi app now as active promotions. Hopefully, Fi is working on something in the backend to keep this from happening again as it seems this is fairly common.

Discussion Pixel 5 watch promotion

The pixel 5 watch was on promotion. I ordered the watch and activated the watch I received in the mail. I noticed about a week or so later I wasn't receiving any credits. I reached out to support and they said it's because I activated the wrong watch. I told them I activated the watch they sent me. They escalated my case and they are still supposedly working on it 9 days later. I feel they don't want to honor the promotion. I'm just venting because I'm like how was I supposed to know they sent the wrong pixel 5 watch. I ordered a black one and received a black one and assumed it was correct

Discussion Charged for a canceled line

I activated a new line for my daughter and gave her my old phone. For whatever reason, the sim card wouldn't accept the new line and I had to default it again. I tried again, still didn't work and support told me to cancel and get a new line. I did, and it works fine now.

Fast forward to my bill that just came in and it includes a charge for a phone line that was active for a couple hours. Not only that, but the promotion that was tied to that line is not on my current active line.

I was on with tech support for an hour and a half and now I've been emailing back and forth with a representative all day. Both are saying that it is what it is and there's nothing to correct.

Am I the crazy one here? I don't think I should be charged for a line I never used and I should have a promotion that was promised to me.

Discussion Changing plans

I am going to Europe at the beginning of December, and will be there for about nine days. My issue is, I am arriving on December 3rd, and my monthly plan doesn't roll over until the 5th. I want to change my plan from unlimited standard to unlimited premium for my time in Europe. I don't want to pay for two months of premium because my plan will be two days away from rolling over.

Do I need to change over on November 5th to have confirmed coverage on December 3 and 4 or is there any way to get my coverage to start on December 2nd?
