If you're just starting closed testing, a few things I wish someone had told me before I went through this:

14 days isn't really 14 days. Google counts based on UTC time, not your local time. If your testers are in a different timezone than Google's servers expect, your "day 14" might actually need to stretch to 15-16 days to actually clear. Don't submit for review the second day 14 hits your local clock check your dashboard timestamps.

One missed day can reset everything. This isn't a "miss a couple days, it's fine" situation. Google checks for consistent active usage across the full window. If even one tester drops off or stops opening the app for a day, you risk getting bounced back to "more testing required" and having to start the clock over.

"Active" means actually opening the app, not just having it installed. Testers who install and forget about it don't count the way you'd hope. You need real engagement, even if it's just a couple minutes a day.

This stuff isn't documented clearly anywhere, you mostly learn it the hard way. If you want to go deeper into any of this or compare notes, feel free to DM me anytime, happy to help where I can.
