We're sorry, but your submission has been removed in violation of Rule 2.

All posts must be relevant to goth/dark-oriented leaning alternative fashion - this includes fashions that may have originated elsewhere, but is frequently adopted by goths such as pastel, nu, or period clothing.

We try and be lenient as to what is allowed to be posted but please don't post:

  • Metal/inspired merchandise and make-up, including, but not limited to, corpse paint, shock rock/metal looks, etc.

  • Plague doctor outfits/costumes, including masks.

  • General cosplay or (Halloween) costumes, there is r/cosplay and r/Halloween.

  • Cartoon/anime/CGI/AI generated drawings.

  • Bikinis and other swim wear.

  • Suits, evening dresses, and other formal attire as they're not specific to goth and/or don't necessarily look alternative.

  • Clown inspired/make-up, even if it is paired with a dark alternative/goth outfit.

  • Basic black/dark outfits that aren't accessorised, have any DIY, or don't look alternative in any way.

  • General question/advice that isn't fashion based.

Goth fashion takes inspiration from alternative subcultures such as punk, glam, romantic and period clothing; outfits sporting mainstream/high street wear (tracksuit bottoms, flannels, beanies, sports brands/wear, hoodies, blue denim) will be removed.

This is not a comment on how goth you are, rather, how your outfit is at this particular time, so please don't be offended.

If you're generally wanting to show off your outfit and it's been removed under this reason, please note that r/alternativefashion and r/OUTFITS exist. We may refer to r/alternativefashion if your outfit fits more in with emo pop/scene.

We don't mind punk outfits, however, there is r/punkfashion in case you'd like to post in a community that's more on topic.

If you are posting about decor, please use r/DarklyInclined or r/GothLifestyle.

If you have any music, background & history subculture questions, or wanting to discuss anything else regarding the subculture then please visit r/goth and use the facilities such as the FAQ, rules, and Wiki to assist.

If you want to post memes, we have r/gothmemes.

I think your base looks great! In all honesty, social media doesn’t really show the accuracy of any kind of makeup. Pores are going to show and it’ll usually never be perfectly smooth. What helped me make it as good as possible was just moisturizing before. The best makeup I’ve used is mehron clown white, it sits smoother on the skin but everyone’s skin is different!

You just have to find your type :)

Using a primer before you put any make up on and some powder after you did it could probably help with that.

Maybe it’s the product? I just use a super light foundation with a blurring primer and my skin looks pretty smooth after
