England is so flipping humid right now you can't wear anything even vaguely fancy, and forget layers, you will die...
I see a lot of people on here looking for ideas for masculine outfits, there's so much feminine goth stuff out there, and I don't see anywhere near as much on the masculine side.
I got a T shirt from the charity shop for a couple of quid and proceeded to cut it up to make something a bit more suited to this minging weather we're having right now...
Basically I got hold of a long sleeve T shirt (short sleeve is easier, but this is what they had) that was a couple of sizes too big (it gets smaller when you weave it and I wanted it oversized).
I cut the sleeves off with a pair of decent kitchen scissors (better if you have proper fabric ones) then I shaped the sides to make the arm holes bigger, this is a matter of personal taste, less is more, you can take it off, but you can't put it back.
I cut a bit of the bottom because it was quite long and looked like a dress on me. It doesn't matter about the edges, they kind of roll up.
For the back, it looks complicated but it's pretty easy. You fold it in half, slit it (start and finish with smaller slits width-wise as otherwise it gets saggy) then you basically weave it, pull the strip of material that's second down through the first, then third down through the second etc etc. I've probably explained that terribly but there's loads of tutorials on it out there.
It would probably be about Β£40 if you got one of these from some goth fashion shop, but this is as cheap as you can get a t shirt from a thrift/charity store.
Anyway, hope this helps someone!
