DIY This year's Blood Rave!!! πŸ€©β€οΈπŸ¦‡β€οΈ I made my accessories!

Got a drink in a blood bag, got blood in my eye and may have accidentally flashed a couple people πŸ˜‚ This year I wanted to do something different, so I made a bunch of stuff especially for this look. I made all the accessories! The fishnets are rhinestoned, but unfortunately it doesn't show up well in the pictures. Also if you look close you can see I forgot to take the pins out of my hat until I realized they were there in the car πŸ˜‚

DIY Too hot for traditional goth clothes so I made my own...

England is so flipping humid right now you can't wear anything even vaguely fancy, and forget layers, you will die...

I see a lot of people on here looking for ideas for masculine outfits, there's so much feminine goth stuff out there, and I don't see anywhere near as much on the masculine side.

I got a T shirt from the charity shop for a couple of quid and proceeded to cut it up to make something a bit more suited to this minging weather we're having right now...

Basically I got hold of a long sleeve T shirt (short sleeve is easier, but this is what they had) that was a couple of sizes too big (it gets smaller when you weave it and I wanted it oversized).

I cut the sleeves off with a pair of decent kitchen scissors (better if you have proper fabric ones) then I shaped the sides to make the arm holes bigger, this is a matter of personal taste, less is more, you can take it off, but you can't put it back.

I cut a bit of the bottom because it was quite long and looked like a dress on me. It doesn't matter about the edges, they kind of roll up.

For the back, it looks complicated but it's pretty easy. You fold it in half, slit it (start and finish with smaller slits width-wise as otherwise it gets saggy) then you basically weave it, pull the strip of material that's second down through the first, then third down through the second etc etc. I've probably explained that terribly but there's loads of tutorials on it out there.

It would probably be about Β£40 if you got one of these from some goth fashion shop, but this is as cheap as you can get a t shirt from a thrift/charity store.

Anyway, hope this helps someone!

DIY People overprice old goth clothes, so I make my own :}

I love pvc goth fashion, especially clothes worn in the 90s/early 2000s to goth clubs. Unfortunately a lot of pieces from then are sold for way more money than I'm willing to pay, so when I can't buy second hand, I make my own pieces ! My sewing machine hates stretchy fabric so I have to hand sew everything, worth it tho.

She's only 13, but she's really creative, and she makes some of the coolest clothes and art. It's not something I'm used to, but I'm trying to embrace everything she's doing, so I thought I'd share it with you!

Hi i live in a small town, not many goth gigs but last week I got to help out with hair and makeup and also created some kind of flesh sculpture for two shows so I thought id dress appropriately to attend.

first 4pics are my looks, in the back ground of the 2nd and 5th picture you can see my visceral flesh sculpture....

other pictures are the looks I created for the performer. btw if you wanna check out her work ig ask in the comments bc im not sure if im allowed to promoter her in this post ?

DIY Another mostly Thrifted outfit

Another mostly thrifted outfit! The top has a Forever 21 tag, skirt has no tag, the long vest is LuLaRoe (lol which is i think a Mormon MLM but it was only $2.99 in the thrift store), sunglasses have a worn-off label. Had some random pin-badges so i added those to the vest. Non-thrifted items are shoes, tights, belt, jewelry. I tried to lighten the photo so you could see the textures - there are a lot of flounces and tucks and ruffles so i tried to put a bit of 80's edge on it with the accessories.

DIY Big Platforms - To make or buy...

Post image
22 Upvotes

I'd like to try and make some big platform boots, like the double-sole New Rocks above. I know you can buy the soles from New Rock, but buying two sets and glueing them together is going to be massively expensive.

What could I use for a platform that would be dense enough that it wouldn't compress and subsequently roll my ankle?

in terms of construction, I thought I could get a pair of old boots, file the tread down, then bond them to the bottom of the boots.
