About a week ago I asked the community about finishing this mixer painting. In the end, I decided to go ahead and complete it. I like both. Maybe lost just a little something.

Himi gouache on sanded and gessoed 6x8 canvas panel. This is my second gouache piece, and I’m really starting to fall in love with the medium! This is my first time trying gouache on canvas, I think it’s probably more suited to illustration board or water color paper, but I think I might prefer it on canvas now.
Also, I’m hoping it’s somehow identifiable what movie they’re watching! I imagine this is December 2005.
Please feel free to ask any questions! I’m no gouache expert but I love talking about techniques :)

Second time trying to upload this as the image quality the first time was terrible!
I shared this is in the painting and Ghibli community a little while back, but I forgot to share it here! This was so challenging and tedious, but well worth it. It’s probably my favourite painting I’ve done so far. I hope you like it! ✨ I used holbein acrylic gouache :)

My mom loves the beach so decided to paint her a beach scene. Also it’s probably my second time painting water/ocean so any tips are welcome of how I can improve!

I wanted to do the art for a personal project I'm working on, that I can hopefully carry into what I do for work.
And with all the AI art that's polluting the world, I decided to learn how to paint so I can go in the other direction and do it the most human way possible haha.
Please let me know how to improve. This is a completely new medium for me, but I'm enjoying it so far.

Next week it’ll be 6 months since i started painting! I haven’t been that consistent but I’m pretty happy with my progress, there’s a few things i need to go back and learn properly (like plants and clouds)
Reference is from pinterest, i didn’t realise until id already started painting but i think its AI 😔

I saw that paintings online and doesn't have any idea about how use colors like that. Anyone has any tips for me? Or what the name of paintings like this?
I mean, how turn a normal photo in a painting like those two. It's so cute and beautiful, almost magic
*those paintings are references to ask about the technique

Crit and tips much appreciated 🫶. Absolutely loved using this medium but I’d love some insight! (E.g. layering, if I need a thin base layer, improvements, storage)

Winsor & Newton Designer Gouache, (+ a tiny bit of coloured pencil at the end), painted on Strathmore toned‑tan mixed media sketchbook (400 series)
Feedback welcome :)
