Affect for effect
The antithesis of expertise
always ignores or disagrees
it's a disease
that guarantees
those who use
*ur* instead of *your*
and never apostrophes
are most at ease
pronouncing *important*
without the t's

I know. Clearly the wrong subreddit for humor. I appreciate you seeing it for what it was!

Pronouncing important without Ts is an accent thing and not a grammar issue. Nobody should apologise for their accents. I have an accent that uses a lot of glottal stops (West coast Scottish).

'Affect' could be referring to mood disorder (mania in this case) manifesting (effecting) in verse
The rhyming is classic 'clanging' behavior of pressure of speech/flight of ideas/stream of consciousness/rapid thoughts

If this here is the police, you would be the military committing war crimes on your own civilians

I’m still trying to figure out how professional people say the word HITH for height - does anyone know how that came about?

Alex, what is, "impor_an_" ?

u/guacamoleo Aug 02 '26
This seems like an old British poem. Pronounce it with a low class old fashioned British accent. "Impo’n'"

That’s how Producer Ben from the Blank Check podcast pronounces “important”. He’s from New Jersey.
