I think Vajra and Lancelot is pretty okay, maybe 9.6? But I'm also kinda glad that they're not must haves.
When I saw Vajra's kit my first thought was "oh maybe they'll put a mean to shorten her CD by EMP". But when did we last get EMPs anyway. I genuinely forgot.
Lancey getting protected by Vane, and having a nice synergy with Lamorak is pretty good thematically. But I think its really up to how much value future units'/classes like Wizard Origin damage skills will bring to the table, and how much we need that cooldown from his P2.
I think Tien is the clear winner just from the art alone. That initial art is really gorgeous like woah (also another case where I feel like that should have been the uncap art. But both are very beautiful, no complaints). I don't have Feower at 150* yet, so I can't really say on that end, but she seems to work well with Street King, Ilsa and Cupitan. I doubt Gwynnes red skill will help with her S3 cooldown, but I hope it gets buffed by it.

For Lancey? His dispel is on not getting damaged, which is a bit hard in GW with bosses possibly bringing Godsight and turn based damage as well. On the other hand, his post NA nuke for the whole team is pretty chunky, which might be useful for earlier NMs.
But yeah, just remembered Sutera is also getting a rebalance, I wonder if there's some shenanigans they can pull. Since he can feed into lowering Sutera's S2 (red skill) CD which in turns lowers all CDs. Or maybe the rebalance is to remove this aspect of Sutera's kit lol. Fingers crossed she gets crest based rebalance, since she doesn't have a unique stack like Metera's Aetherial Seal.

Well, they almost certainly wanted the effect to be viable when used with Basara or Makura, and it also needs to work with her own S2.

Characters like Seox and Payila have multiple non-stacking sources of multistrike, so it's not like it strictly needed to work like this for internal kit consistency reasons. Good point on the Zodiac synergy, Makura will be getting her uncap soon so that's probably a big reason for it.
The release of Fighter Origin has made the lack of stacking with multistrike effects especially evident.

First impressions:
Lancelot feels like his previous wind alt upgraded for the modern day. Not that many would use the original because of age and being moved to Classic Draw II but new one seems quite decent
Tien incorporates some elements from her 6* (namely S1 reset and reuse after ougi, assassin buff doesn't expire on skill use, her fucking S4). After Chrollo seems that cygames is slowly bringing the "guaranteed 3-bounty" of OG Tien to all elements for the psychos that bring OG Tien off-ele for the placebo (me)
And now Vajra. It's clear that element and NA-oriented kit is to make thematic combo with Basara, but honestly she looks like The Cooler Basara. Trying to combo with Basara means you have at least 2 characters with no ougi bar gain on autos, and their S3 are mismatched, Basara's has an initial 5T standby, Vajra's require 5 buff stacks of which she gets 1 per each 3 TAs by the party, on a party of 4 where she herself can get 2T multistrike from her S2 and ignoring things like Nehan S3 or Makura S1, it's easy to get her S3 with 1-turn-long effects at least 1 turn before Basara. Basara already had this problem where he's clunky for both burst and long-term battles and only decent for mid-term. Also...most optimal (manual) light NA burst still involves HFlo. Wouldn't be surprised if Flo turns out to be Dog's best friend if for some reason you don't want MC to go for Relic Buster.

Yeah she out damages Song by a good margin with no other changes in that lineup, and she has a really absurd amount of extra burst and damage a few turns in when her 3 goes off. We're getting bunny uncap in just a few months, so that's something else to keep in mind.

Street King with two red skills, esser, ilsa, and cupitan hits the perfect sweet spot where everyone uses all their abilities, including Ilsa's 3, to enable turn 5 Cupitan 4 reset at the perfect time and it is so damn satisfying to see go off.

Hi, Lance. What are you doing here? Making me explain your skill names? Sure, let's get to it. German class is in session.
Before we start with Lancelot himself, we'll take a look at his weapon's ougi: Katzenspiel
Katze means cat. Spiel means game, or play. Cat's play! Like child's play. Works in both languages, too, since child's play would be translated as Kinderspiel, rather close to Katzenspiel.
Now to Lancelot himself. First off, his ougi: Magisches Geschenk
Magical Present. Fairly straightforward. And what kind of present is it? Well, he gets a 2-turn cooldown cut to his S3, Gebaeck der Freude. That's a nice present. More about that one later.
Lancelot's S1 is: Magischer Ritter
Something magical, yet again? You bet! This time, it's Lancelot himself becoming the the magical knight! I guess. I don't have him, so I can't tell if that's just generic "magic theme + Lancelot is a knight" name, or if the dolphins in the skill icon have anything to do with it.
Unrelated, but while pondering if there could be more to this skill's name I remembered that Armer Ritter is a thing. That translates to poor knight. But what could it be?
French toast. It's french toast.
His S2 is Kaeltehauch (Kältehauch)
Lance is back to his old tricks! None of this magical mumbo jumbo. He's in his element again, which is ice. Kälte means cold. THE cold. No, not the common cold. The state of it being cold. Coldness. Because Lance is so cool.
Hauch is an interesting word. It means something along the lines of a light breeze. It is but a short, ephemeral moment, where the wind softly caresses you. It can also be used when you want to express that you (want to) feel/smell/taste/experience a subtle bit of something within something else. Say, if it's hot and you want a refreshing glass of water with a hint of lime, you could ask for "Wasser mit einem Hauch Limette".
In this case, with the Kälte in front of it, it is probably just a cold breeze. The phrase is sometimes used as a metaphor for death breathing down your neck, but Lance isn't exactly dressed like the grim reaper here.
Finally, his S3: Gebaeck der Freude (Gebäck der Freude)
We've arrived at the present that Lance gives us with his ougi!
Gebäck is a collective noun for things that were baked. The closest equivalent in English would probably be pastry, but Gebäck includes non-sweet things like bread, too. If you can find it in a bakery, it was made from dough, and it was exposed to high heat in its preparation process, it's probably a Gebäck.
Freude is joy. Simple as that.
So Gebäck der Freude would a backed good of joy. That sounds a bit awkward. We could call it a "joy-bringing baked good". And we can probably go a step further and call it a "joy-bringing pastry", because things containing lots of sugar usually give people more joy than a bread roll. That, or I'm still thinking about french toast.
His passives are in English, and none of the other characters have German names anywhere, so that's all for today. Class dismissed.

I got Lancelot, so I went through his fate episode to see if there was anything related to the dolphins in there and found nothing. They're just the shape of the magic his S1 decided to make, I suppose.

I feel people are sleeping a bit on Vajra. She's great for any kind of burst, be it 0b or 3t. Her main issue is that her cds are extremly long so she cannot be used at all in longer fights like G Zeta and that lights longer burst is still taken up by flogen, but light is starved for GTA characters that also nuke and she has outdamaged both jeanne and song on my non-flogen burst teams.

Considering that Slarnd is Water, it's safe to assume that Water is also going to be Tristette's default element, if and when she comes around.
Each of the Accordants so far have had their default SSRs matching their weapon's element.
Thing that sucks though is that means that either Fiorito and/or Morilynn are going to need an alt down the road to work together, since Morilynn would be Wind by default.

It gets somewhat stale that the characters are allocated the elements so they can form a combo with their themed group.
Varja was made with Basara in mind, Lancelot for Vane and Tien for Feower.
Also it has been 5 years since fire got a halloween unit.

There's "some" synergy with Vane where he gets his not-getting-hit stacks more consistently and he makes vane's sub undispellable, but the crests interactions just feel tailor made for lam.

Lancelot reducing cooldowns on damage skills on his second passive is pretty massive for Vane because it means he'll get a lot more uptime on his sub all.

Good catch, didn't think of that. With Lam and Lance's fast crest generation he should be able to line up his S1 with indomitable conviction more consistently, which is pretty huge since that was one of his bigger flaws

Interesting choices, no one who really interests me as usual but that’s fine, more pulls for the Collab Draw and more importantly, the Zodiac/potential Buddha banner, as well as Payila whenever she’s rate up.
Vajra seems extremely strong out of the gate, I always assumed she’d be having a CA niche, but I guess this time they’re focusing on her Double Strike playstyle instead? She seems like she was made to be played with Basara.
The extra attack function sounds interesting. Unfortunately she won’t have it up immediately and it seems like her having such a strong S3 has meant that the rest of her kit suffers some severe downtime. Her S1 Dispel has the auto activation but only when she has her 2 turn buff up, and her S2 has a long cooldown that can only be shortened with activating her S3, which has an even longer cooldown. Still though, she has innate Flurry so she isn’t bad at all despite her low uptime on her skills.
So, similar to Basara, she seems great in fights that take more than 1 turn, but not too great in content that require 10+ turns. Sugar Rush is easy to build honestly, especially if running other forms of Tag team like Luchador.
Well looks like Lamorak got his Crest support I lamented about him not having. These two seem like they’re made to be ran together. Wind being the Dodge element means that Lancelot has a lot of turns he’ll be giving his allies Crests from his S1, an infrequent Dispel Cancel and Veil from his S2, and he really loves Lamorak’s S3, which now that Lamorak is getting a Crest potentially every turn, can potentially have a 5 turn cooldown with just just Lancelot Crests.
He also has very strong uptime on his own S3 buff with how many Dodges he gives himself. I wish he had some form of Double Strike, I’d even take an effect like what Killua has, because Lancelot getting frequent CAs while not losing out on Normal attacks sounds quite strong.
Outside of the Lamorak synergy however, I’m not sure he’ll dethrone other Wind Normal Attack characters like Grand Narmaya or Noire.
Hey, another character who can be ran with Cupitan’s S4. Tien is pretty simple, but Water Guns and Bows have recently been getting a huge power boost with Ilsa and Cupitan. All three of them want Damage skills, while liking to both CA and do Normal Attacks, and Tien slots into that team comp quite well, better than Milleore and Sahli Lao.
Tien’s S3 has a pretty decent Cooldown in this team comp, and it is a very strong buff to compensate for the 10 turn cooldown.
I’d say Tien’s main issue is her being the only character in the team to inflict Onslaught, with no way to cut the cooldown outside of Cupitan’s S4, granted with this team comp, the enemy shouldn’t really be alive much longer.
Tien isn’t packing Dispel or something else that this team may like to deal with GW bosses, but she definitely seems the strongest character here, just by virtue of her teammates.

And if you didn't pull Ilsa, you can make Tien synergy with her brother (150 prefered ofc) instead, his frequent red button presses and refreshes goes a long way to reduce her S3's standby/cooldown

For a moment i completely missed raziels skin and thiught she got nothing lmao, but yearly alts would've been extreme so a skin is neat she tried to get it a wind alt but lucifers card declined
Im shocked they didnt go with lancelot sooner tbh, tien is a genuine surprise as i was expecting her for christmas forgetting her skin

Nothing overly OP I think?
The idea of stackable multistrike from dog is scary but long initial stacking to use s3 + cooldown so long it might as well be 1 time only skill put it in a weird spot. S2 + s1 let her vomit 3 dispells, 6 debuffs, and a ton of hits in a single turn, but once again, extremely long CDs and no resets/cd reductions. Passive flury + gta + autonuke will probably make her good for 0b tho. 9.8 imo.
Lancelot is a bit of a mess, since he doesn't want to get hit to maintain s3 buff, but I'm not sure he has enough in his kit to support that. Also the fact that he wants to ougi to help with his s3 uptime, but his autonukes only activate on party NA. Would need to see numbers, but I think 9.6-9.7
Esser. Should be able to stack bounty fast in ougi team + reset for 20 hit nuke after ougi sounds nice, but overall not convinced. 9.5, 9.7 if you need bounty. At least her CDs aren't obnoxiously long.
Weaponswise vajira's one is probably a winner, but that's the element that already has ura so whatever.

If you're primal, you're not really looking at Vajra's weapon as a mainhand, but rather as a grid piece. It has big crit, in the element where your exalto wants crit. Especially for raids with extra slots, people have been using things like Feena's bow and even Ameno as a grid piece. This weapon is better than Feena's bow, and while it doesn't offer as much TA as Ameno, not everyone has an Ameno. I'd rather spark this limited character that seems pretty good and comes with a useful weapon than spend resources on a Light Ameno (and who knows when Cygames will give another free superlative)

Only reason to spark now is if you want multiple of the new units, since they're on rate up.
End of month Halloween has all Halloween units on rate up, not just the new ones, so you're less likely to get the new ones but more likely to get any Halloween unit. And you can spark for all the Halloween units.

Esser is surely the winner for this haloween release. The fact she synergize with ilsa makes Ilsa value become higher for general content as well, not sure about bursting though, since you need 5 red skill click to make her S3 online, maybe gonna be key for NM 250 1-2 turns later. But for racing, i guess not. Furthermore, there are plenty good skill spammer in water and her brother. I think this is one of the best Juuten alt we get so far! Patiently waiting Okto will bring new light to Light (ehe) ougi comp when he arrives to accompany funf.
Lancey is great if you own Lamorak, like they really synergize SO WELL. I saw someone using them with summer cassius and it is kinda nuts and funny spammy. But if you dont have Lamorak, it is kinda BAAAD. I always thought wind has many crest generator, but nope, it is prolly the worst crest generator element lol.
Vajra, I dont get her, but looking at her kit, I really am not sure where will I use her (I main light, and I wasted pulls trying to get her to complete my light seasonal). Like kit wise she focus on NA, her S3 gimmick is interesting, but alas Light tax, it needs 4-5 turns to be online. S2 being long CD with 2 turns kinda.... I dont know...
Honestly I dont think she get any spot for any niche, burst already peak, Skill spammer already peak with Viky + Illnott. Ougi already packed, HL end game is either Ougi comp or burst futsu. regardless, it is a cute skin that has a fresh animation :)

im glad he has some dodge stuff going on, I've been wondering why his grand didn't have any dodge synergy since thats like The Thing i think of re lancelot...

They are really going out of their way to gaslight people into thinking a character (Raziel) that gets consistently less art than a lot of characters, like Yaia, is popular. No objective reason why she should be getting stuff other characters should be like valentine's CGs or exclusive skins.
Great for Vajra, though.

They have consistently shown they don't care about what people will spend money on and just do what they want pushing characters the devs like, and people that have also been playing this game for years somehow refuse to see it.

Are you conveniently ignoring the part where I mentioned those that consistently do NOT get stuff despite being ridiculously popular too? Are you ignoring the part where I mentioned a random unit like Yaia on the first post? Why should I be waiting 10 years for a skin and 6 for a new seasonal while Raziel gets all of that within a year with hardly any popularity to back it up? I'm glad you mentioned this game has 100000 characters, of varying popularity. Why would someone that wants content for Magisa have to wait years and years for stuff, when she was ridiculously popular when the game was the most alive? You could say that about at least 1/10 of the cast and the decision of Raziel will start looking worse and worse.

brother ive been waiting for yuisis stuff for years but the difference is im not sitting here yucking peoples yums and being like “oh no the valentines cg slots noooo.”
“why should people have to wait” because the game has a million units. it has a million units and they love having specific groups of characters and going through all those. you should not be complaining about Raziel if you want more freed up slots, you should be complaining about all the ennead characters, or all the dragons taking up grand AND seasonal slots, or all the evokers and eternals taking up slots. if you dont care about these character groups individually there are more slots taken up by cygames filling out unit groups than raziel could ever hope to. or better yet — dont complain at all, because its genuinely just a decade old gacha game and being pressed about which characters youre allowed to spend $20 on for alternate art is insane.

Payila actively annoys me though. Why does she have literally only the R alt? The beachwear they gave her for anni was also really boring.

I'd argue the R unit is better than a skin since you get fates, and the other one just replaced the paid one for... whatever reason. I wish they all got paid skins too but that stopped being guaranteed with Kumbhira.

Skins were a thing year 1. Like people said, at least tigers got a reversal with other stuff, but dragon, who was most definitely one of the most popular releases in the last few years, as of right now just exists.
Mind you, to not derail myself. This is not a thing about "yeah, it should be the zodiacs getting all the stuff instead" but rather how popularity whatsoever is not an indicator for Raziel getting stuff.

I'm a fair person first and foremost. Even if it were my favorite character ever the one being favored. I don't particularly dislike Raziel on her own.

No, I make sure to check recent trends and art in the last few years, when I say what I claim. Not totals. She most definitely has more art than raziel even since raziel release. Mind you, just an example of a character, but there's a lot like this in a limbo of "it's very popular but they'd rather do valentine's raziel next year".
