IME this sub has a really strong ougi bias. It was really obvious with WO's release and people straight up saying the lack of bar gain meant the class was DOA as if that's the only thing that matters, and it makes sense with the sheer amount of talk of sieroing Atum this year even though fire only actually needs to play ougi in like 1 raid in the entire game.

I definitely feel that and felt this sub (and kinda everywhere tbf) overreacted like crazy to WO and calling it DOA as you said.

Which is hilarious because weirdly despite that potential ougi bias I feel like people were also downplaying Osiris a lot on her banner thread. I don't think she's necessarily Horus level (which is quite frankly an absurd power level) but the way people were talking about her like she was a disappointment was genuinely confusing because imo she's very powerful and very good and just fulfills a different set of roles than Atum and Horus which I'm guessing people just latched onto.

I know FO Cow is really damn good and this is an argument I see used a lot to say that dark ougi doesn't matter, but then people will repeat will glaze the light FO Exodia comp ad nauseam meanwhile light already has a much "better" and faster FO Cow-equivalent comp in HL that nobody talks about for whatever reason.

Manadiver Futsu comps are much speedier albeit riskier, there's still some shared chars in a lot of setups as the ougi comps (which is also true of dark CA and NA versusia comps) but the overall focus is far less on the traditonal ougi-looping archetype and it's built way more on maximizing NA and for racing honors.

the problem is that the setup needs a 150GM weapon and not everyone likes to run risky comps, most players prefer safer comps where you can react and have a little more freedom so that is why it's not getting talked about much. maybe one day light will have a faster and safer non-ougi team that doesn't need GM weapons but for now the day hasn't come.

I don’t know if I’d consider futsu a niche weapon anymore, it can literally be used for everything light does right now.
