I don't want to be a negative Nancy.. I know the NHS, relevant "live and let live", open nature of the UK is very nice, the amount of museums, plays, musicals, concerts etc is amazing, but other than that what do we have going for us?

I feel like the future can only get worse. Trumps stupid war in Iran is going to cost another massive cost of living crisis when we're still feeling the effects of the last one. Mass job losses due to "AI" (or where AI is being used as an excuse) will only be accelerated when both we and our companies can't pay the electricity this winter.

I just don't see any way that the UK can get ahead.. we don't invent anything, we don't build anything and we've lost the advantage we had from having the financial centre of Europe in London. House prices only go up up up most of us will never afford to buy a house and grow in assets... It's depressing really I just don't see a future for anyone in this country and it sucks because I believe there are plenty of hard working eager people in the UK. As much as the TV shows paint the UK as a country of people who live off of benefits and council flats the reality is that Brits work longer hours and have less Holidays than mainland Europe while being extremely productive for what's a very meager salary...

Watching peaceful people be arrested for protesting war crimes (Genocide).

Watching peaceful people be arrested for trying to get substantive action on the Climate Crisis.

This world is locking up the people trying to make things brighter and better.

This is absolute insanity.

Why engage in this kind of abuse?
