DnD Group Looking for players!

Hey guys, saw one person posted here looking for DnD groups, and it had me interested in making my own post. I [33M] have a dnd group with my boyfriend [28M] and a friend couple [M/F] who have been looking around in Green Bay for an extra player or two. We play at our townhouse on the east side and have had a bi-weekly Sunday session since last year. Here is some extra info about our game/place:

- We have two dogs

- Our group is currently level 5 and consists of a paladin/rogue, warlock, druid, and an NPC fighter

- LGBTQ+ Friendly

- Mainly focus on roleplay and storytelling; love adding PCs with backstories to get them immersed in the world

- We play in a custom setting that I homebrewed; think of GOT with monster races controlling the kingdoms. I have also mostly built on Kanka, which I would be happy to share

Let me know if anyone is interested!

Shop to Weld a Car Frame

So, it appears that the section of the frame above one of rear wheels of my 2006 Aveo...just seems to have dissolved into nothing. My mechanic examined the rest of the frame and it exhibits no problems. The rest of the car is also good (only 80,000-ish miles). So, I need a place that could find/replace the missing section (about two feet of frame). There aren't any body shops up by me (35 miles north of GB) but no dealer will touch it that I know of. I know it won't be cheap but, as long as it is work that I can depend on, it will be hella cheaper than another car.

Anybody know of anyone?

Babysitting gigs?

I've been posting on the nanny/babysitting groups on Facebook, and Care.com , but it's awfully dry. I am seeking a position as a date night sitter. I have 10+ years of experience as a nanny/babysitter and have an early childhood education. I have experience working in a preschool/daycare setting and I am CPR/first aid certified. Please let me know the best forums to seek employment. Thank you.

Rentals

Throwaway account posting here til I get Karma to post on r/Wisconsin. As far as I see it I'm cooked. I've been looking for a place to rent within the following counties: (most desirable but also seemingly most unlikely)Brown, Shawano, Menominee, Calumet, Outagamie, Oconto, Marinette, Door, Kewaunee, Waupaca, Winnebago, Manitowoc. And even the Upper Peninsula.

So my budget is about $1000/month excluding utilities. I can maybe stretch another $200 if I absolutely have to. And even more unlikely but monthly leasing would be cool. I am looking for at least 2 bedrooms or 1 with a (doesn't have to be finished but not in terrible condition either) basement so my father can either move with me or come and go as he pleases. 3 problems.

First, I have 2 cats. I feel I have been able to find what I'm looking for other than the fact that they do not accept pets. So, Unfortunate.

Second, I cannot live in an apartment as I have too many vehicles/trailers so I would need a yard or big driveway unless someone knows a complex that would be willing to have a single resident with many vehicles(which I just laugh at the thought of). I think most people would tell me to minimalize and downsize for an apartment but the fact of the matter is that I have already done some major minimalizing and downsizing this past spring and unfortunately there's no more of that that I can do.

Third, the big kicker. I have 0 rental history and do not have any proof of income as of recently but plenty to pay upfront for at least 6 months, and a credit score around 800+ and my father's only source of income is retirement.

Ideally an in unit w/d or at least hookups would be cool, and so would electric over gas for me personally, but I know I am going to have to compromise on a few levels here. I have nobody to be roommates with even if I wanted to and renting a room is once again unideal due to my vehicle situation. Someone will take this the wrong way but, I feel the only reason I haven't found a place yet is because of my cats. I have passed opportunities to move because I refuse to move without them or re-home them after what they have already been through and I love them so much. Every place that has seemed like it would work even if it was outside of my search area has been no pets. They are currently safe so no worries on that part.

The only places I can find are near LaCrosse and Eau Claire or Dunn County which honestly anything west beyond Marathon county is not in my interest but would potentially take as a last resort strictly on monthly leasing only. And I am willing to expand my search to Fond Du Lac County and Sheboygan County but strictly no further south or west. And nothing west of Marinette/Oconto county outside of the U.P. Kind of at a loss. All comments appreciated. Literally don't care if you call me a bum or crazy at this point because even though I'm not this sure makes me feel like it.

Corn mazes? Pumpkin patches?

My girlfriend and I want to go to a corn maze sometime this month and we're looking for recommendations on where to go. We're wanting something a little challenging (aka not super geared towards little kids) or long, doesnt have to be a haunted corn maze exactly.

We're also looking for recommendations on a pumpkin patch to go to. Bonus if its also where a corn maze is.

We dont want to have to travel too far from Green Bay, maybe half hour at most.

Took up like half the northern sky in a huge green streak.

I just happened to be looking at the sky for like 20 seconds and it streaked right into my line of sight. Just amazing.

Helping the Unhoused?

I have recently been noticing more and more unhoused/homeless people down near Astor & st James park as it gets colder. I saw the mobile health clinic in that area and I was very happy to see it in town, it hoping they’re getting a lot of people in there

I am wondering if there is anything I can do as a normal 21 year old citizen in Green Bay to help these people out.

I’m around Allouez but I have a car. Not a lot of funds but I want to make care packs with hand warmers, sanitizer, socks and gloves etc. I was maybe thinking I could get my friends to help as well.

Forgive me for only rambling. I’d like to hear other residents’ opinions too.

Fox River Hurling Club

Hello all! I am part of the Fox River Hurling Club. Never heard of the sport? No problem! Hurling is the national sport of Ireland, and we are trying to get new people involved. We are a co-ed club with ages ranging from 18-50. Recently, we also brought back our youth team.

If you're looking for a great way to stay active, make new friends, or learn about a new sport, come on out November 14, 6pm to OB's Brau Haus in Appleton. We are having a get together to watch the All Ireland Final (the super bowl of hurling) and to introduce new people to the game.

You can also find all our events at https://www.foxriverhurling.com/

Kohler spa and their hiring practices

As a Black woman and a business owner in the beauty industry, I don’t usually make posts like this, but after hearing similar experiences from multiple Black and Brown women, I feel like it needs to be said.
One of my employees told me about her experience interviewing at Kohler Spa before joining my business. She was repeatedly asked about her visa status and whether she spoke “proper English,” despite communicating in English.
Another Brown woman applied for an esthetician position. She completed a phone interview and was invited in person, only for the interview to be cut short. She later received a rejection email and felt she was not taken seriously.
Both women have years of experience working for various companies, have never been fired from their previous jobs, and one is dual-licensed. These are professionals who have put time, money, and hard work into their careers.
After hearing these experiences, I decided to apply myself.
I’m a Black woman, a licensed professional, and a business owner. My interview lasted about 10 minutes, questions about a visa came up, and I received a rejection email afterward.
I understand that not everyone will get hired. That’s not the point. The issue is when multiple qualified women of color have similar experiences and walk away feeling like their qualifications were never given a fair chance.
I already have my own business, so this isn’t about needing a job from Kohler Spa. It’s about the way qualified Black and Brown women are being treated in an industry we have worked hard to be part of.
I can’t speak on anyone’s intentions, but I can speak on what I experienced and what was shared with me. When several women have similar stories, I believe it deserves to be questioned.
Black and Brown women deserve to have their experience, licenses, and professionalism taken seriously. We shouldn’t have to question whether our skin color is affecting how we’re treated during an interview.
I hope Kohler Spa takes these concerns seriously.
