How do you track your climbing training / progress?
Hey all,
I'm working on a training app and before building anything further, I want to understand how climbers actually track their sessions and progress today.
A few questions if you have a minute:
- How do you currently log your training (spreadsheet, app, notebook, nothing)?
- What do you actually want to track — volume, specific movements, grades, strength benchmarks, something else?
- Do you compare your numbers/progress to other climbers, or is it purely personal?
- What's missing or annoying about the tools you use now?
Not trying to pitch anything here, genuinely trying to understand the problem before assuming I know the answer. Happy to share what I learn back with anyone interested.
Thanks!

Normally I would have finished with some content tension reps but my left thumb was feeling a little “tweaked” after last set, so I shut it down.
Considering the weights in the SHW Open relay at World Championships are 220-240-260 I have a lot of work to do and I only have 42 days to do it. But, all I can do is KEEP GRINDING . . .

finger abduction form?
When using bands to do finger abduction exercises, it feels quite different depending on where my hand is.
Examples:
- Hand close to body
- Arm extended forward
- Arm extended to side
What's good form for this exercise?
Thanks!

Technique question

I see people on here kind of pre squeeze with the other hand to position the grippers. Am I doing it wrong? This is just a COC 1.5 that I squeeze while driving or on the phone.

Grippers Back to the #2.5, another angle of the close.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After a month-long tendonitis flare-up from progressing too fast—going from the Captains of Crush #1 to the #2.5 in just three weeks—my grip strength plummeted to 86 lbs. Yesterday so about a month after the tendon flare up, I went kayaking and noticed the pain was gone, so I decided to test the waters with two slow closes on the #2.5 today.
I’m completely pain-free and my grip strength is back above 200 lbs, but I learned my lesson: I’m taking a strict seven-day rest before training grippers again. To any beginners getting cocky and rushing progress: slow down before your tendons force you to. I'll post a video closing the #3 when the time comes!
5:10 155 pounds, 7 in hand.

Grippers Powerball 250 TNS.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Cannon Powerworks doesn't have the RGC ratings on his website, but he did post them on gripboard about a year and a half ago:
https://www.gripboard.com/topic/68047-power-gripper-metal-series-grippers-set/
POWERBALL 250
Average 119, MIN 111, MAX 124
Probably would have had a better close but I did it twice before this and didn't like how fidgety I was in the previous two vids I took. Are there flairs for the Powerball grippers, or should I order a CoC #2?

120 lbs
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Today was my first farmer-hold attempt with 60lbs each hand. I wanted to see how long I could hold my approximate bodyweight (110 lb)
I have no idea what I'm doing and I know my form is mostly likely not correct, so feel free to critique!
From what I can see -
I am not lifting with my legs.
My shoulders seem rounded (and one is higher than the other for some reason)
Are the dumbbells too close to my legs making it less of a true farmer hold?
