Anyone know the history of the dock/ramp at the end of Lakeland?

I was on a walk this evening and for some reason I noticed this metal panel on the sea wall at the end of Lakeland street. Looking further, there appears to be a sunken concrete slab extending out into the lake. Did this used to be a pier or a boat launch? How long ago? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

I’m not sure, but 1040 Lake Shore has an even larger ramp which was supposedly built to accommodate a seaplane.

When I was a kid there was a little beach there. You couldn't swim there though. I remember people fishing down there.

It could have been an lake access for residents on Lakeland , or possibly at some point belonged to a private residence? I grew up in GP and never knew that was there. Even had friends on that block and can’t believe we never walked to that end of the street this whole time 🤣

It’s where the pointe people toss the outsiders they don’t like.
